Kerry Katona's surprising message to ex Brian McFadden's wife on his wedding day

Nearly 20 years on from her split with Brian McFadden, Kerry Katona has disclosed that she contacted the Westlife star's new bride, Danielle Parkinson, on their big day earlier this month.
Kerry, who is mum to daughters Molly and Lilly-Sue with Brian, revealed in her weekly New! magazine column that she had messaged Danielle on her wedding morning - just days after reports suggested the former couple would 'never be friends'.
"My ex, Brian McFadden, got married earlier this month and I just want to wish him and his wife Danielle a lifetime of happiness," Kerry wrote in her column.
Following claims that the singer had 'burned all bridges' with Brian, she responded by saying: "I find it sad though that as he gets married, everyone writes stories about me," reports the Mirror.
"His wedding has nothing to do with me at all. I texted Danielle to wish them a happy day– it looked like a beautiful celebration and I hope they had a ball," Kerry concluded.
Whilst Kerry's two eldest daughters attended the ceremony, she kept quiet about whether they had a good time or not.
Along with Molly and Lilly, Kerry is also mother to Heidi and Max - whose father is taxi driver Mark Croft - and daughter DJ, whom Kerry had with her late third husband George Kay.
Kerry's peace offering to Brian and Danielle follows years of turbulent relations between the former partners, with Kerry previously branding Brian a 's**t dad' to their daughters. "He was a s**t dad. I'm the one who provides for them," she said on a podcast in 2023.
Public remarks like these have allegedly put a strain on their co-parenting arrangement, according to a source who spoke out last week.
An insider told The Sun: "Kerry has burnt her bridges with Brian, thanks to years of speaking out of turn. She's got a heart of gold but a big mouth and that has always been her downfall.
"Kerry has a bad habit of not thinking before she speaks and it's landed her in hot water with Brian on many occasions. She'll say something publicly that is either outrageous or something she should have kept private between them and it gets her in trouble."
Nevertheless, Kerry revealed just days before these reports emerged that she would 'love' to be mates with him again, writing in her column last week: "I wish Brian and I could have stayed friends. Molly went to watch him at a festival last week and I would have loved to have gone with her. It would be great to have a better relationship,".
Brian seldom discusses Kerry publicly and made considerable efforts to avoid mentioning her in last year's BBC documentary, Boybands Forever.
In a cringe-worthy moment, the interviewer asks him on camera: "Marrying Kerry, you're sort of..." as Brian swiftly cuts in: "I don't want to talk about her, no. Definitely no."

Hulk Hogan dead: WWE legend dies aged 71 as Ric Flair leads tributes

Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71, with the WWE legend reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest as tributes flood in for the icon who has been celebrated as "one of pop culture's most recognisable figures." It's been reported that paramedics were summoned to Hulk's residence in Clearwater, Florida in the early hours of Thursday morning. Hogan served as the headline attraction for the inaugural WrestleMania in 1985 and remained a mainstay for years in the company's flagship event, taking on everyone from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock. He also battled company chairman Vince McMahon. He secured six WWE championships during his career and was enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone, reports the Mirror. A statement from the organisation read: "WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture's most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan's family, friends, and fans." Ex-WWE owner and supremo Vince McMahon said: "The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world. He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon. "His grit and unbridled thirst for success were unparalleled - and made him the consummate performer. He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected and loved. "He leaves us with one of his favorite expressions, "Train, take your vitamins and say your prayers." Today, we pray for him." Ric Flair who, like Hogan, was a champion of the sport, paid his respects as he said: "I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan! "Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn't Ask For Him To Be. "He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!" One of the sport's best known figures, The Undertaker, said: "The wrestling world has lost a true legend. His contributions to our business are immeasurable, and for that, I am appreciative. Thank you, Hulk Hogan." Fellow legend Kurt Angle added: "R.I.P Hulkster, thank you for opening up doors for so many people in the business including myself. There would not be a Kurt Angle, without the American Made, Hulk Hogan. My heart and prayers go out to his family. We lost a real icon today." Hogan's stature saw him become a celebrity outside the wrestling world, appearing in numerous movies and television shows, including a reality show about his life on VH1, "Hogan Knows Best". Former wrestler Brutus Beefcake said: "Through the good times and the bad, I always loved my brother Terry! I am devastated by the loss of my friend, I only wish we had time to mend our broken friendship before his passing. Until I see you Brother, in the big squared circle in the sky! I love you". JIM Gavin is probably the best impression in Conor Moore's All-Ireland final preview while Simon Harris gets it worst as the butt of the joke. To which the eight-time All-Ireland winner replied: "Their running game is a hard game to sustain for 70 minutes. Zonal defence is a weakness. There's space to be exploited there by a kicking team. Here's all the ‘Up for the Match' details ahead of Kerry v Donegal on Sunday

In a repeat of the 2014 final, Kerry and Donegal will once again go head-to-head — and Up for the Match will capture all the buzz and excitement in the build-up to Sunday's showdown. The programme promises stories, atmosphere, and pre-match banter from fans and familiar faces. Marty Morrissey will be reporting live from Kilcar, Donegal, where he'll meet the family, friends and clubmates of Ryan and Eoin McHugh, and Patrick McBrearty — all set to feature in the final. Meanwhile, Anna Geary will be in Kerry, catching up with fans at Rathmore GAA Club, the home of Paul Murphy and Shane Ryan. In studio, GAA stalwarts Marc Ó Sé and Eamon McGee will offer their expert analysis and predictions, while the revered Brian McEniffe — affectionately known as the Godfather of Donegal GAA — will also join the discussion. A musical highlight of the night will be the return of the Donegal anthem Jimmy's Winning Matches by Rory & The Island — with a fresh twist in store for viewers. Following last week's memorable Riverdance tribute in county colours, the opening performance promises another surprise to kick off the show. Adding extra excitement to the evening, one lucky viewer and one studio audience member will each receive golden tickets to the final at Croke Park — a chance to witness history as either Kerry or Donegal lift the Sam Maguire Cup. Co-host Jacqui Hurley said: 'A first-ever All-Ireland final between Cork and Tipp was a novelty, but the fans from both counties brought their A-game to the craic. We know from experience that won't be a problem for Kerry and Donegal fans — we're looking forward to a brilliant show with them.' Co-presenter Des Cahill added: 'Last week, we saw the friendly rivalry between the Tipp and Cork fans — I can't wait to see what energy the Kerry and Donegal supporters bring to the studio. We'll have plenty of music, great chats with some GAA football veterans and check in with some of the 80,000 fans that are expected to travel the road to Croker, plus a bit of light entertainment and tunes to settle the nerves.' Up for the Match airs on Saturday, July 26 at 9.35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
