NEW DELHI: Reaching out to every eligible central government scheme beneficiary is set to be the prime focus of the Narendra Modi administration, which completes 11 years.
Sources said nationwide registration camps will be held for enrolling eligible beneficiaries under schemes such as
Ayushman Bharat Yojana
for senior citizens as Modi government marks its 11th anniversary by deciding to focus on saturation and by removing obstacles holding up last-minute delivery.
Officials said focus to take benefits of programmes to the poor, the needy and the last person will be the theme of the anniversary celebrations as PM Narendra Modi has repeatedly underlined the need for complete saturation of government schemes.
In a break from practice, the government has decided to do away with publicity blitz that has been staple for such milestones, and instead engage directly with citizens, especially those benefiting from government schemes, the sources said.
"PM Narendra Modi wants to turn this into an opportunity for listening and connecting," said a senior government functionary. "The spirit is not of celebration but of connection. The idea is to understand what more needs to be done how to do it better," said a source familiar with discussions in the Prime Minister's Office and at other higher levels.
"Feedback from the beneficiaries is the best teacher," the functionary elaborated.

The ministries and departments concerned are conducting focused drives, enrolment camps, and beneficiary interactions to strengthen access and awareness.
"Ministries have been encouraged to use existing platforms and field networks to communicate achievements organically and prioritise authentic citizen voices over packaged messaging," a source said.

‘From skies to space': PM Modi at IATA AGM pitches India as future hub for aviation and innovation

NEW DELHI: Blending bold visions of space-age travel with grounded economic optimism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday delivered a sweeping address at the Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Delhi, pitching India as a rising force in global aviation, and beyond. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now 'We now stand at a juncture where travel is no longer confined to cities on Earth,' PM Modi said. 'Humans are dreaming of commercial space flights, of interplanetary journeys, and civil aviation is at the core of this transformation.' Speaking to top executives and global aviation leaders, the Prime Minister called the summit not just a gathering of industry minds but a launchpad for 'shared climate commitments, global cooperation and equitable growth.' As commercial aviation inches toward space-age possibilities, PM Modi struck a futuristic tone: 'There is still some time to go, but this shows how aviation will be a centre for innovation and transformation. India is ready for it.' He credited India's readiness to three pillars: a vast and aspirational consumer market, a youth-driven talent pool adept in AI, robotics and clean energy, and a government policy ecosystem that is open, supportive and innovation-friendly. India's civil aviation sector, already one of the fastest-growing in the world, has become central to the government's larger ambitions of becoming a global tech and logistics hub. 'What you are discussing at this Summit will chart a new direction for aviation,' Modi told the audience. 'We must now tap the infinite possibilities of this sector and use them better.' While India may not be launching civilians to Mars tomorrow, PM Modi's speech suggested that the country plans to play a lead role when that day comes.

US F-35 stealth fighter has a 'kill switch', but it's controlled by China and not America

If the United States of America goes to a war, the F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter will play a pivotal role as it is considered to be the pinnacle of combat aircraft currently in active service worldwide by its makers. The fifth-generation fighter, in service with the defence forces of 10 countries while the same number of countries await their first F-35 jet, was rumoured to have a "kill switch" which was vehemently denied by the US military and the aircraft makers Lockheed Martin . Now, there is a new revelation which shows that the F-35 fighter has a "kill switch", but it is not in the control of the USA, Instead its arch-rival China is the one which can activate the "kill switch" to render the entire F-35 program ineffective. Not only the F-35, but China can also derail several other US military platforms and programs if its decides to go for the kill and America has absolutely no defence against such a move. The programs and platforms which can be a non-starter or be rendered useless by the Chinese "kill switch" are the Boeing F-47 sixth-generation fighter aircraft announced by US President Donald Trump in May 2025, US Navy's Virginia-class submarines, Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, armed Predator drones, Tomahawk cruise missiles, Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) smart bombs apart from advanced radar systems deployed to track enemy aerial targets. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If You Eat Ginger Everyday for 1 Month This is What Happens Tips and Tricks Undo So what is this kill switch? China enjoys an unparallel domination in rare earths and critical elements, which are a critical component of almost all advanced weapon platforms. The country is not only the largest producer and consumer of rare earths, but also its biggest exporter. The US is so dependant on these rare earths and critical elements for maintaining its defense technological edge that over 80 per cent of its weapons system use them. If China decides to play hardball and refuses to supply rare earths and critical elements to the US, the latter's defense industry will come to grinding halt. The Pentagon will be blinded in case there is a disruption in the supply of such critical components. Live Events China has more that 90 per cent of the world's processing and refining units of rare earths and it is responsible for the producing 98.8 percent of refined gallium in the world. Gallium plays an important role GPS systems and radars. American combat aircraft airframes and missiles use magnesium while graphite and fluorspar can make or break the systems used for rocket propulsion, lasers, and nuclear fuel processing. In all the three mentioned minerals, China is the fulcrum with is massive refining capacity During the recent talks on the tariff wars unleased by President Trump, the big ace up Beijing's sleeve was its near monopoly in the production and refining of critical elements and rare earths. China had in 2023 cracked down on the export of eight gallium-related and six germanium-related products. It had a year later in 2024 also curbed export of antimony, another critical element. In the last few months, starting December 2024, China has completely stopped the export of gallium, germanium and antimony to the US. Critical defence related elements like tungsten and tellurium, too, have been placed on the restricted list by China. When President Trump announced his steep 'reciprocal tariffs' taking effect against China on April 2, two days later Beijing responded by imposing curbs on the export of medium and heavy rare earth elements including samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, lutetium, scandium and yttrium. The restricted items also includes magnets and other rare earths products. If this situation continues, most of America's most advanced weapons will turn into duds if China raises its great wall to completely ban the export of such critical components. All of these are used in combat aircraft, missiles, naval warships, submarines and advanced radar systems. Which US weapons depend on China A F-35 engine, avionics, munitions and radar use over 400kg rare earth elements. Similarly Virginia-class submarines and Arleigh Burke-class destroyers of the US Navy have 4,200kg and 2,360kg of rare earths in their systems. Cruise missiles, armed drones, smart bombs, and radars depend on rare earth magnets for propulsion, targeting and guidance. With the F-47 fighter on the drawing board, the demand for rare earths and critical elements will only increase. Almost 81 percent of Antimony used in the F-16 Fighting Falcon as well as Minuteman III nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles is refined in China, although it is mined mostly in Australia. Even the US sends several critical minerals to China for refining and then re-imports them. None of the current technologies can replace the use of rare earths and critical elements in the advanced weapons and China's near monopoly, especially in refining, is a clear and present danger to the US forces, which have no counter to this "kill switch".

Colvin Shield: Open selection trials in Pali, Bikaner & Jodhpur

1 2 Jaipur: Dispelling concerns that ongoing disputes might derail team selections for Pali, Bikaner and Jodhpur districts, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee convener and BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani has announced open selection trials for the Colvin Shield, scheduled to begin from June 7. The RCA's ad hoc panel has been grappling with controversies surrounding the Pali, Bikaner and Jodhpur district cricket associations (DCA). Following complaints of alleged irregularities, committee convener Bihani revoked the recognition of the Pali and Bikaner DCAs. Additionally, the Jodhpur DCA's elections have not yet received the convener's approval. Bihani has formed a panel to oversee the team selection process for the three districts, ensuring the tournament remains on track. "Open selection trials for these three teams will be held at the district centres in the presence of the RCA supervisor and the team will be picked by the selectors authorised by the RCA," said ad hoc member Vimal Sharma from Bihani coterie. To participate in the selection trials, players are required to bring the following original documents with them: computer generated birth certificate, bonafide certificate, marksheet of last three years and aadhar card/voter ID/driving license/passport. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Encontre voos low-cost Voos | Anúncios de Pesquisa Saiba Mais Undo Dharamveer criticises Bihani for sidelining 4 ad hoc panel members: Ad hoc panel member and Pali DCA secretary Dharamveer Singh Shekhawat defended the decision to hold the tournament, stating, "There's nothing wrong with conducting the Colvin Shield, and we support it fully." However, he sharply criticised Jaideep Bihani for marginalising committee members. "In this entire process, Bihani has sidelined four out of six ad hoc committee members, showing disregard for the registrar and the Sports Act, and acting against the constitution. Furthermore, no proper norms were followed in appointing the three selection committees. All four of us - Dhananjai Singh Khimsar, myself, Ratan Singh Shekhawat, and Harish Chandra Singh - have formally raised these concerns in letters to the state chief minister, registrar, state sports minister, and sports secretary," asserted Dharamveer, representing the Dhananjai group.
