PM Modi focuses on saturation of schemes as government marks its 11th anniversary

NEW DELHI: Reaching out to every eligible central government scheme beneficiary is set to be the prime focus of the Narendra Modi administration, which completes 11 years.
Sources said nationwide registration camps will be held for enrolling eligible beneficiaries under schemes such as
Ayushman Bharat Yojana
for senior citizens as Modi government marks its 11th anniversary by deciding to focus on saturation and by removing obstacles holding up last-minute delivery.
Officials said focus to take benefits of programmes to the poor, the needy and the last person will be the theme of the anniversary celebrations as PM Narendra Modi has repeatedly underlined the need for complete saturation of government schemes.
In a break from practice, the government has decided to do away with publicity blitz that has been staple for such milestones, and instead engage directly with citizens, especially those benefiting from government schemes, the sources said.
"PM Narendra Modi wants to turn this into an opportunity for listening and connecting," said a senior government functionary. "The spirit is not of celebration but of connection. The idea is to understand what more needs to be done how to do it better," said a source familiar with discussions in the Prime Minister's Office and at other higher levels.
"Feedback from the beneficiaries is the best teacher," the functionary elaborated.

The country is not only the largest producer and consumer of rare earths, but also its biggest exporter. The US is so dependant on these rare earths and critical elements for maintaining its defense technological edge that over 80 per cent of its weapons system use them. If China decides to play hardball and refuses to supply rare earths and critical elements to the US, the latter's defense industry will come to grinding halt. The Pentagon will be blinded in case there is a disruption in the supply of such critical components. When President Trump announced his steep 'reciprocal tariffs' taking effect against China on April 2, two days later Beijing responded by imposing curbs on the export of medium and heavy rare earth elements including samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, lutetium, scandium and yttrium. The restricted items also includes magnets and other rare earths products. If this situation continues, most of America's most advanced weapons will turn into duds if China raises its great wall to completely ban the export of such critical components. All of these are used in combat aircraft, missiles, naval warships, submarines and advanced radar systems. Which US weapons depend on China A F-35 engine, avionics, munitions and radar use over 400kg rare earth elements. Similarly Virginia-class submarines and Arleigh Burke-class destroyers of the US Navy have 4,200kg and 2,360kg of rare earths in their systems. Cruise missiles, armed drones, smart bombs, and radars depend on rare earth magnets for propulsion, targeting and guidance. With the F-47 fighter on the drawing board, the demand for rare earths and critical elements will only increase. Almost 81 percent of Antimony used in the F-16 Fighting Falcon as well as Minuteman III nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles is refined in China, although it is mined mostly in Australia. Even the US sends several critical minerals to China for refining and then re-imports them. None of the current technologies can replace the use of rare earths and critical elements in the advanced weapons and China's near monopoly, especially in refining, is a clear and present danger to the US forces, which have no counter to this "kill switch".

1 2 Jaipur: Dispelling concerns that ongoing disputes might derail team selections for Pali, Bikaner and Jodhpur districts, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee convener and BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani has announced open selection trials for the Colvin Shield, scheduled to begin from June 7. The RCA's ad hoc panel has been grappling with controversies surrounding the Pali, Bikaner and Jodhpur district cricket associations (DCA). Following complaints of alleged irregularities, committee convener Bihani revoked the recognition of the Pali and Bikaner DCAs. Additionally, the Jodhpur DCA's elections have not yet received the convener's approval. Bihani has formed a panel to oversee the team selection process for the three districts, ensuring the tournament remains on track. "Open selection trials for these three teams will be held at the district centres in the presence of the RCA supervisor and the team will be picked by the selectors authorised by the RCA," said ad hoc member Vimal Sharma from Bihani coterie.
