'War 2' box office early estimates Day 1: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NRT starrer off to Rs 6 crore start; Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' collections double with Rs 11 crore haul

'War 2' has finally hit theatres, and early estimates suggest a promising start for the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR-led action thriller. Early Box Office Estimates The film that is reportedly tracking an estimated Rs 30 crore opening, set the cash registers ringing this Thursday morning, by recording a good start at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has raked in approximately Rs 6.16 crore India net across all languages so far. 'War 2' kicked off with strong morning show occupancies, managing to cross the Rs 5 crore mark with just early ticket sales and first shows. The numbers are expected to see a significant jump during the high-traffic evening and night shows, which traditionally contribute the bulk of first-day collections. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film has been generating mixed reactions from audiences. While many have praised the high-octane action sequences, grand scale, and the on-screen presence of Hrithik and Jr NTR , others have criticised its template storyline and uneven pacing. Social media reviews ranged from 'Fun & paisa vasool' to labelling it 'strictly MID' and 'a recycled, same-old template.' Coolie 's Impressive Collections However, the box office battle this Independence Day weekend is far from one-sided. Sharing the release date with 'War 2' is superstar Rajinikanth 's highly anticipated 'Coolie', which, as per early estimates, has recorded nearly double the earnings. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it better to shower in the morning or at night? Why people fell for the Jessica orca hoax and how to spot the fakes

Image: A video blowing up on social media claims to show a marine trainer named Jessica Radcliffe getting attacked, and even killed, by an orca during a live show. It looks like chaos at a marine park, with the whale going rogue mid-performance. The clip has freaked out a lot of people… but spoiler: it's not what it seems. Let's get real, the Jessica Radcliffe orca video is 100% made up. Yet somehow it blew up across TikTok, Facebook, and X like wildfire. Here's why people believed it, and how to stop falling for these traps. Why hoax? There is no official update on this incident, except videos that are going viral all over social medi. The anatomy of the hoax It starts with a vague, unsettling clip: a woman trainer 'balancing' on an orca's snout. Suddenly, in horror-movie fashion, the whale lunges. Cue dramatic slow-mo, fake crowd gasps, eerie voiceovers, maybe even a claim about menstrual blood provoking the beast. It's classic clickbait fodder. But don't fall for it. Borrowing from tragedy This hoax strikes a nerve because it hijacks a very real fear. It echoes documented orca fatalities, like the deaths of Dawn Brancheau (SeaWorld, 2010) and Alexis Martínez (Loro Parque, 2009). by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like New Container Houses Ukraine (Prices May Surprise You) Container House | Search ads Search Now Undo These stories are in public memory, due to several documentaries. The hoax smells real because it riffs on actual tragedies. Weaving fiction into real echoes boosts believability. The anatomy of viral misinformation Our brains are wired to react to sensational content. Dramatic visuals, emotional triggers, just-barely-convincing audio, all prime ingredients for virality. Combine that with AI's uncanny realism and voilà, you get a hoax that spreads before fact-checkers can blink. Even Forbes called out the trends, noting how 'false news spreads far faster than corrections.' How to spot a fake when you see one Want to unmask the next Jessica Radcliffe? Look for exaggerated details: Claims about menstrual blood provoking a violent whale? Yeah… that's your red flag. Reverse-image/search the clip: Often, hoaxers just Frankenstein old footage, slap a fake headline on it, and wait. It pays to check metadata. Ask: Does it make sense? A deadly incident like this would warrant major headlines, official statements, and more. None happened. Pay attention to the audio and visuals: Weird voiceovers, awkward sync, blurred edges, or mismatched lighting = deepfake territory. From hoax to hope: What this really highlights Once the hoax unraveled, many shifted their attention to Kiska, the 'world's loneliest orca,' spotlighting deeper issues: the emotional toll of captivity and how sensationalism can overshadow real animal welfare conversations. Jessica Radcliffe and that orca attack? Total fiction. But here's the kicker: the fear it taps into? Very real. The hoax is a reminder that in the age of AI and clickbait, being a sharp-eyed skeptic isn't just smart, it's essential. So next time you see something shocking, take a beat. Ask yourself: 'Is this real? Did it come from trusted news sources?' If not, it's probably worth hitting pause.
