Riveiro vows never to coach another PSL Club

Jose Riveiro will be remembered for his loyalty and his demeanor as he closed his Orlando Pirates chapter with a 3-0 win against Lamontville Golden Arrows.
Having said that, he was asked in his last press conference whether or not he would coach another Premier Soccer League club, for example a team like Kaizer Chiefs or Mamelodi Sundowns. This is what he had to say.
'No, never. Once, Always,' Riveiro told the media after his last match coaching Orlando Pirates, quoted by Soccer Laduma .
'I will never coach any other team in South Africa, AmaBhakaniya. Orlando Pirates are the only club that I could have the motivation and the courage and the energy – and the heart, in this case – to coach in the country. No doubt.'
So Riveiro will not be making any headlines by moving to Chiefs or Sundowns because the Bucs emblem is fully ingrained in his heart.
Jose Riveiro leaves the head coach seat in a much better place. He has added five trophies to the Sea Robbers trophy cabinet, three MTN 8 Cups and two Nedbank Cups.
But also a playing style that brought the people back to the stadium. Going with a 62% win ratio, added to this a club record wins total for Pirates and despite not being able to win a league during his stint, three consecutive CAF Champions League qualifications, six domestic cup finals and the CAF Champions League semi-final run, losing narrowly to Pyramids FC, will live long in the memory of the supporters, the 'Happy People'.
According to reports, Riveiro is on his way to Al Ahly in Egypt. Where he will try and write a new story at another African giant.

Confirmed: Kaizer Chiefs' tactical weakness

Kaizer Chiefs have had a flying start with three straight wins: 2-0 over Stellenbosch FC, 1-0 against Polokwane City FC and another narrow 1-0 victory over Richards Bay without conceding a goal. However, Thabo Cele has reminded fans that last season, the same team conceded 32 goals, the third-worst record in the league. AmaZulu (34) and Marumo Gallants (39) were the only sides to concede more. Speaking ahead of Tuesday night's clash against Richards Bay FC at FNB Stadium, Cele revealed where he thinks Kaizer Chiefs must improve. Orlando Pirates team news: Two players 'If you look at it, our problem is that we play and then we concede on transitions. We're trying to be in control, especially in the opponent's half,' said the 28-year-old from KwaMashu, Durban. 'We want to create more opportunities and also maintain control in the opponent's half. It's those things that we're trying to improve on, you know, tactically. Orlando Pirates news: Radiopane and Ndoro 'Playing for this club, expectations are always there, and we're here because, you know, we want to handle that expectation. And, you know, what they're [supporters] expecting is good results, like how we started. But obviously not everything is perfect,' Cele added. South African Invitational Padel debuts at Wanderers

The DP World Wanderers Stadium swapped cricket for padel this past weekend as Johannesburg hosted the first South African Invitational Padel from August 15 to 17. The tournament drew some of the world's top players, including world number one duo Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, Spanish star Alejandro Galán, and Fernando 'Bela' Belasteguín, widely regarded as one of the sport's greatest figures. Spain's Miguel Yanguas Díez also joined the line-up, stepping in for Juan Lebrón. Twelve elite players were split into two teams, Los Galacticos and Los Grandes, in a fresh team-based format that reshuffled partnerships daily. The progressive scoring system meant matches were worth one point on Friday, two on Saturday, and three on Sunday, keeping the competition alive until the final session. Crowds enjoyed both nostalgic reunions, such as Coello pairing again with Belasteguín, and exciting new combinations like Galán with Javier Cardona. The presence of Belasteguín, who retired last year, gave the event an emotional edge. 'This isn't just a tournament, it's a celebration of padel's arrival on the African mainstage,' said event director Sarfraz Bismilla. Only introduced locally three years ago, the sport has quickly taken root. Bismilla added that the success of the invitational is now fuelling calls for more international events and possibly a permanent stop on the global padel calendar.
