Next quarterback up here, Drake May, 112th overall selection, qb 16, um, Josh, what did you think of Drake May's rookie season and how are we feeling heading into this year?
I love him, he can do no wrong, he's perfect.
Uh, Drake May is just freaking sweet.
We talk about how Caleb Williams, the situation piled on top of also his bad plays.
Drake May could have easily been in the same exact boat, and yet Drake May put the team on his back and like lifted everyone around him to the degree that all these bad football players could be lifted.
Sorry if I offend people for calling NFL players bad, but in comparison to other, you know, players at those spots.
Uh, he was with a bunch of nobodies.
And yet Drake May was still electric.
He still held onto the football as long as possible to give his players actual chances to get open down the field, and he is already one of the most mobile, athletic scrambling quarterbacks in the league.
I think he was what?
Either #2 or #3 in yards per game when it came came to running the football.
And Matt, that was without a single designed run last season.
So I just can't wait for Josh McDaniels to add that into his bag.
What Josh McDaniels did with Cam Newton during, you know, that final season basically in the league that he had as a full-time starter, and, uh, just build an offense around the strengths of what Drake May brings because, uh, I, I am obsessed with Drake May as a prospect in the league.
I'm also very excited about Drake May.
He's a great pick at QB 16, even if he doesn't take a leap.
Again, I think the rushing ability for May is still very understated, will make him a great fantasy quarterback.

Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez exits 1st padded practice of training camp with lower body injury
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Cornerback Christian Gonzalez left the Patriots' first full-pads practice of training camp on Monday with a lower body injury. Gonzalez limped off the field following a play during 11-on-11 drills in which he had been matched up with receiver Stefon Diggs. Gonzalez left the field under his own power, but was attended to by the training staff in an area adjacent to the field. He then exited the field in the direction of the locker room and didn't return. Gonzalez earned second-team All-Pro honors last season. He had two interceptions, 59 tackles and 11 pass breakups in 16 games. A first-round draft pick in 2023, Gonzalez appeared in only four games as a rookie before suffering a shoulder injury that required season-ending surgery. ___ AP NFL: The Associated Press

Will Mike Vrabel consider a career in media after coaching? Here's what he had to say
FOXBORO — Mike Vrabel will take any opportunity to poke fun at the media, and Monday was no different. The New England Patriots head coach had a funny exchange with reporters, specifically when asked what he would do if he were in the media's shoes. Before the reporter could even finish his question, Vrabel immediately cut in. "You mean if I was a part of the media? I don't think there's ever a scenario where that would happen," he said. But the reporter wasn't willing to let this go. "Oh, that's absolutely a matter of time. You already did stuff with [Michael] Felger 15 years ago," they responded. However, Vrabel didn't back down and made his plans for his post-coaching career very clear. "As soon as I'm done with this, I'm going to be in the witness protection program," he joked. "You will never find me." Vrabel has been in the public eye since he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 1997 NFL draft. He then joined the Patriots in 2001, where he cemented himself as a key piece of the dynasty, going on to win three Super Bowls. Finally, he finished his playing career with the Kansas City Chiefs. But he wasn't ready to completely give up football yet, leading to the beginning of his coaching career at Ohio State, where he also played college football. He made the move to the NFL in 2014, joining the Houston Texans staff as the linebackers coach before becoming defensive coordinator for the 2017 season. Vrabel got his first head coaching opportunity in 2018 with the Tennessee Titans, but was dismissed in 2023. Afterwards, he served as a coaching and personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns for a year, but New England needed a coach, and they had their eyes set on Vrabel from the beginning. That's certainly not someone who is hiding away from the media, but once the time comes, it seems he'll be very ready to get out of the spotlight. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.
