Justin Bieber addresses drug use in cryptic social media post amid fan concern

Daily Mirror5 days ago
Canadian singer Justin Bieber has reposted a clip of DMX refusing sobriety without explanation, prompting speculation about his own stance on drug use
Justin Bieber has subtly addressed drug use on Instagram this week by sharing a throwback clip of the late DMX refusing sobriety in a 2013 episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life.

When asked if he wanted to live clean, DMX fired back: 'No weed, no drinking, nothing? Why would I?' He added: 'I think I'm exactly where I need to be with God.'

Bieber, 31, didn't add any caption or explanation to the video, which was originally posted by Los Angeles dispensary Gassy. The singer, who had been open about his Christian faith and bond with Churchome pastor Judah Smith, has frequently posted images involving marijuana, though always within the bounds of California's legal recreational use.

Concerns about Bieber's health have circulated this year, but his representatives have continued to deny speculation of hard drug use, telling TMZ in February: 'The recurring narrative that Justin is using hard drugs is absolutely not true."
The Baby hitmaker is reportedly focused on music and fatherhood following a major reset in his personal life. However, it's not the first time Bieber has posted about drug use.

Back in March, he left fans more concerned than ever after seeming to take drugs in an Instagram post - with the star also appearing to have ditched his wedding ring in the snaps at the time amid concerns about his marriage to Hailey Bieber.
In his past post, Justin shared six very similar photos of himself appearing to use a bong to smoke marijuana. The shots showed the Canadian singer sitting on a bike, with several quad bikes parked behind him.

Justin kept his head down and covered with a hood, layering his hoodie with a navy and purple jacket, paired with loose black trousers and light brown boots.
At the time, the singer made a clear glass bong the star of the photos, alternating between lighting it and blowing out huge streams of smoke. If the photos weren't clear enough, he chose the song Hits from the Bong by Cypress Hill to play in the background
It comes after Bieber surprised fans by dropping a new album titled SWAG. The Baby singer released new music, with tracks including Therapy Sessions, Dadz Love and Devotion, amongst others, last week.

In his emotional album - which some fans are describing as his best work yet - Justin opened up about his own feelings and emotions at length, where he and his collaborators sang and spoke about their emotions.
Justin has concerned fans as of late with his erratic social media posts, and there have even been rumours he has split from his wife, Hailey Bieber. However, it seems like they are stronger than ever as he shared a snap of them and their son to mark the album release.

In his song All I Can Take, Justin sings about "no one listening" and talks about the "symptoms of his sensitivity". He explains in the lyrics: "These symptoms of my sensitivity / Feels worser knowin' no one's listening / This is it, I can't change, Lord knows I try."
In another part of the song, he sings about all he can take, as he shares: "And it's all I can take (In this moment) / And it's all I can take (All I can take) / And it's all I can take (In this moment)."
In Daisies, he talks about whether someone loves him or not and his own fears about the future of a bond with someone else. He makes no specific reference to any relationship including that of his wife Hailey Bieber.

In the song, he sings, "Throwin' petals like, "Do you love me or not?" / Head is spinnin', and it don't know when to stop / You said "Forever," babe, did you mean it or not? / Hold on, hold on."
In his track Go Baby, Justin sings about supporting someone else as they struggle. He promises them they can cry on his shoulder whenever they need and that they "don't need to pretend" they're ok.

"When sunlight turns to shadow and it gets hard to face / Like water to a flower, babe, I know you need the rain / Nothing needs to work out and nothing needs to break / Don't need to pretend that you're okay," he sings.
"So cry on my shoulder, just turn into me / Cry on my shoulder whenever you need it / You better believe it that I can hold all the weight and shrivel inside."
And in his track Walking Away, Justin worryingly sings about being "defenceless" and wanting to change. "Days go by so fast, don't wanna spend them with you / So tell me why you're throwing stones at my back / You know I'm defenceless," he sings, whilst in another bit, he adds: "I made you a promise / I told you I'd change / It's just human nature / These growing pains / And baby, I ain't walking away."

Nepo babies used to get on our nerves – now they've got the upper hand

This week, Brooklyn Beckham shocked his followers when he shared a video of himself rustling up a tomato pasta dish using seawater. In the clip posted to his Instagram, the would-be chef leans off the back of a luxury yacht and dips a silver saucepan into the sea, before bringing the briny to boil and plopping in some spaghetti. 'That's disgusting,' one person commented. Others said: 'Nothing like cooking in sewage water …' and – possibly most devastating of all – 'Go get a real job PLEASE!!!!!!' Beckham, 26, has long faced criticism from nepo baby haters for using his privileged position as the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham to his advantage in his various 'careers'. His amateurish seawater pasta is but his latest clueless foray into the world of work. He irritated established fashion photographers when, aged 16, he was hired by Burberry to shoot its latest fragrance campaign. In a juvenile collection of his photographs, published by Penguin Random House, his shot of a dimly lit elephant was accompanied by a caption: 'Elephants in Kenya. so hard to photograph but incredible to see.' In 2022, his career relaunch as an chef-influencer, with his straight-to-Instagram show Cookin' with Brooklyn, reputedly required a team of 62 professionals, including culinary producers, cameramen and several producers – and cost a staggering £74,000 an episode to make. Nothing like starting at the bottom and working your way up, is there? When Oasis return to Wembley Stadium this weekend, for the first time since 2009, as part of the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher's reunion tour, they will be supported by Richard Ashcroft of The Verve. But eyes have no doubt rolled at Liam's daughter Molly and Ashcroft's son Sonny gracing the front of the new issue of Tatler, as cover stars for their latest Cool Britannia issue for the same reason: they are only famous because of their parents. In the cover photo, Molly, 27, a model, is standing on an elaborate gilded French stool in a blue leather mini-coat, with musician Sonny, 25, who is hoping to release music soon – wearing a tie against the backdrop of a huge Union flag. The trouble with nepo babies – a phrase coined in 2022 that shortens 'nepotism', and which Gwyneth Paltrow dismissed as an "ugly moniker" with which to beat the children of famous people – is that they are successful only because their famous parent(s) helped them get their foot in the door. Those that are talented struggle to escape the pervasive feeling that their connections and money have given them a headstart that other equally talented people won't get. The resentment is that it's grossly unfair as the rest of us have to claw our way to the top. We can't just walk into a movie role, or capitalise on being the next generation leading the Britpop revival. To win favour, nepo babies shouldn't deny or hide their privilege like Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis's daughter Lily-Rose Depp, 26, did when she once claimed in Elle magazine that 'nothing is going to get you the part except for being right for the part'. This week, Isadora Bjarkardottir Barney, 22-year-old daughter of Icelandic singer Björk, claimed that being a nepo baby 'doesn't help you much', after landing her first leading role in a feature film, The Mountain. Hailey Bieber tried to embrace the term by wearing a 'Nepo Baby' crop top in 2023, to acknowledge her Baldwin family dynasty links, but was then criticised online for 'not being enough' of a nepo baby. Stranger Things actor Maya Hawke – daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman – tried a different tack, admitting what a privileged position she is in, compared with the rest of us. Since the whole debate erupted with New York Magazine's 2022 cover The Year of the Nepo Baby, things have changed. I say it's about time we stopped hating on nepo babies. Today's nepos – nepo 2.0, the next generation – are fully aware of their ridiculousness, and they're now actually playing up to it. Because they can't help who their famous parents are – and what else are they supposed to do? That's why Beckham now courts criticism and finger-pointing laughs by cooking seawater pasta, and why the Oasis nepo babies are happy to push their status as cultural icons for a new generation. The difference is the new breed of nepo babies aren't struggling with the nepo label. They are just happy to weaponise it and get up in our faces. Blue Ivy Carter, 13, the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, has been dubbed a positive example of nepotism in the music industry for her stage presence and talent after she brazenly adopted the role of chief backing dancer for her mum's Cowboy Carter tour – often stealing the limelight. Kai Gerber, 23, looks the spitting image of her supermodel mum Cindy Crawford – for a reason. She's continuing Crawford's legacy in the fashion industry. Nepo babies offer the rest of us light relief in dark times. Getting ahead because of mum and/or dad isn't going away – so we might as well enjoy it.

Music festival fans fume as event with The Killers and Weezer due to perform is cancelled

Music lovers have been left disappointed after a huge festival was cancelled with a brief message on the organisers website letting fans know just weeks before they were due to attend A major music festival has been cancelled with attendees being informed by a message on its website. SoundSide Music Festival was due to take place between September 27 and 28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut. ‌ Confirmed acts at the event included headliners The Killers, Weezer, Hozier and Vampire Weekend. However, the two-day musical gathering has now been axed entirely with no reason given to fans. ‌ A message on the website states, 'Due to circumstances beyond our control, Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled. Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank's processing time.' ‌ Other expected acts on the line-up at the festival included Djo, Japanese Breakfast, the Backseat Lovers, Remi Wolf, Alex Warren and the Last Dinner Party. Disappointed ticket holders were just weeks away from attending and have not had any further information provided to them. Fans took to X to complain as one angry fan typed: "wdym soundside music festival was canceled…" Another added: "so soundside music fest was cancelled and their insta page has been deleted… what the f**k actually". And a third said: "soundside got cancelled and i was supposed to see djo at it im devastated and it was my home show the festival is so close to my house". ‌ The news comes just one year on from fans being left upset when the Foo Fighters cancelled their planned performance at the festival in 2024. The band gave just a few days notice for the cancellation after it was revealed that frontman Dave Grohl had become a dad again - but had welcomed the new baby outside of his marriage. The new arrivals caused quite a scandal leading to the band sharing a short message with fans on Instagram to confirm their change of plans around the news. The statement said, "FOO FIGHTERS WILL NO LONGER BE APPEARING AT THIS WEEKEND'S SOUNDSIDE MUSIC FESTIVAL. PLEASE CHECK THE FESTIVAL WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION (sic)". ‌ While the Foo Fighters didn't specify the actual reason behind the cancellation of their planned appearance at the festival, the timing was indicative of the rocker's personal issues causing a clash in their schedule. The announcement was made just weeks after Dave confirmed that he had fathered the child outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum. ‌ Dave, 56, vowed at the time that he would "regain" the trust of his family after sharing the shock news with the world via his social media. Dave - who has been married to Jordyn since 2003 - wrote on Instagram at the time, "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. "I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."

Lioness star Lucy Bronze's mysterious 'split' from teammate before baby bombshell

The self-styled 'bossy mum' of the Lionesses squad, Lucy Bronze, has opened up about the one wish she has for her future. It comes as she has been romantically linked with some very famous players Lioness legend Lucy Bronze keeps her life away from the pitch largely under wraps, but she has been linked to some very famous sportswomen in her love life. ‌ The footaller, known as one of the best in the world, was once reportedly dating her teammate Keira Walsh but she's since found a new flame, according to reports. ‌ Despite their romance seemingly fizzling out, Lucy and Keira appear to remain amicable and are both part of the Lioness squad. It comes as Lucy dropped a major bombshell about her huge wish for the future. ‌ Lucy, 33, is known as one of the world's top female footballers - boasting over 120 international appearances and a collection of silverware, including five Champions League crowns. She transferred to Chelsea in 2024 following her time at Barcelona, and her adaptability as a right-back or wing-back continues to prove invaluable for both club and nation. ‌ Away from the football field, she was rumoured to be in a relationship with England's vice-captain and Chelsea player Keira Walsh, 28. In the summer of 2022, Bronze and Walsh both made the switch from Man City to Barcelona and competed in the World Cup as part of the Lionesses squad the following year. The pair kept their rumoured romance relatively low-key and never publicly confirmed their relationship, but shared several cosy photos together on social media over the years. Some of which included sun-soaked getaways together, including a break to Lyon, France, in 2019 and a trip to LA in May 2022, where they struck a pose on the beach. ‌ They've even spent time together with both their families, as a sweet Instagram snap showed Lucy and Keira beaming alongside their loved ones. While they never confirmed their relationship together or a split, things seemed to suddenly come to an end. Lucy is now said to be romantically linked with Spanish footballer Ona Batlle, 26. While neither of the pair has gone official, they have shared a series of sweet snaps together. ‌ One saw them on holiday together last month before the Euros kicked off in Switzerland. In the post, Lucy wrote: "Few days of sun," while Ona commented with a heart-eyed emoji. They even took a trip to Disneyland Paris together in December last year. Meanwhile, Lucy recently opened up about her future and about starting a family of her own one day. In an interview with Women's Health, she shared: "I could get a corporate job. I could try to be part of the Federation or Fifa. I could help someone like Chelsea develop the women's team." The player added: "I wouldn't say there's something I'm dying to do, apart from have a family. My brother's got two kids and that's what I'm most jealous of, seeing my niece and nephew. But there's plenty of time for that – and what that looks like, I don't know." While Lucy and Ona are major rivals during the Euros, with England and Spain competing against each other in the final on Sunday, 27 July, it doesn't seem to impact their relationship off the pitch. After Spain took victory against England during the 2023 World Cup, Ona was spotted comforting Lucy on the sidelines.
