Tyreek Hill ready to 'change the narrative' surrounding Dolphins
During a recent appearance on the "Glory Daze" podcast with Johnny Manziel from the Fanatics Fest in NYC, Hill commented on the urgency he feels heading into 2025.
"This year as one of the leaders, I told the guys, it's time to change who we are as a team. It's time to change the narrative about we are not able to play in cold weather, we are not a physical team. So, I'm tired of that narrative. I'm tired of living behind not being able to go to the playoffs and win in Miami, because we got a damn good team.
"We got a good quarterback, we got a good offensive lineman and we got some good coaches and we got some good people in the community who deserve to be a part of that. So, I feel like this is the year that we change all of that," Hill said.
Trade talks have encompassed Miami cornerback Jalen Ramsey's offseason. During his podcast appearance with Manziel, Hill discussed how he was gearing up to put the "full court press" on recruiting Ramsey back to South Beach.
Hill knows that Ramsey remaining with the Dolphins puts Miami in the best position to accomplish some of the team goals that Hill was talking about alongside Manziel. But, it's also because Hill doesn't want Ramsey to miss out on that moment when postseason success does happen for Miami.
"I'm really hoping that we sign Jalen Ramsey back, because he's a great leader on the defensive side of the ball. And just being able to do something special in Miami and win a playoff game after 25 years, I think that's something that he doesn't want to miss out on.
"We got to get to that. That's something that I talk to my Mom about every day. I take pride in that. Being one of the leaders on this team, I not only want to do it for myself, man, but I want to do it for the fans. I want to do it for the community of Miami, because it's special to me. I don't know, man. It's just something different about me. I just feel different. I just feel like if I don't do it, I'm basically just collecting a check, and I don't want to feel like that," Hill said.
At times throughout the first two seasons of Mike McDaniel's run in Miami, it felt and looked like the Dolphins were primed to turn the postseason corner.
But, Miami stumbled through a five-game losing streak late in the 2022 season. And then the Dolphins were without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in a 34-31 AFC Wild Card loss at Buffalo as Tagovailoa missed the final two games of the season with a second concussion.
In 2023, the Dolphins raced out to a 5-1 record and put up 70 points in a Week 3 win over Denver. The Dolphins were 11-4 before dropping their final two regular season games at Baltimore and versus Buffalo. Miami's loss at Baltimore was a laugher, 56-19.
Then, at a frosty Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Miami suffered a 26-7 loss against the Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card round once more. At the time, it was the Dolphins' 11th straight loss when game-time temps were 40 degrees or less.
In 2024, Tagovailoa's injury absences dug the Dolphins too deep a hole to climb out of as Miami finished 8-9.
Now, with 2025 training camp nearing, Hill seems locked back in to steering the Dolphins to a place they haven't been in 25 years.

Cowboys, Micah Parsons no closer to contract extension as California training camp wraps up: ‘We might or might not talk'
Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys don't appear to be any closer to a new deal as the team's training camp wraps up in California this week. Parsons, who demanded a trade earlier in camp after months of unsuccessful contract extension talks with the Cowboys, declined to speak with reporters on Wednesday after the team's final padded practice in Oxnard, California. 'My mouth is closed,' he said, via The Athletic's Jon Machota. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Though owner Jerry Jones did actually speak with reporters regarding the issue, his answer wasn't much better. 'Nothing,' he said when asked what is stopping the Cowboys from negotiating with Parsons, via The Dallas Morning News' Joe Hoyt. 'We might or might not talk. The rest gets into what we do every day.' Parsons is entering the fifth-year option of his rookie contract, and he's set to make about $24 million this season. The 26-year-old has been a dominant force for the Cowboys in recent years, and he's easily proven himself to be one of the best defensive players throughout the league. He had 12 sacks and 43 total tackles last season while dealing with an ankle injury that limited him to 13 games. Despite that, the Cowboys and Parsons have been unable to reach a contract extension throughout the offseason. That led to Parsons' trade request, though Jones has said he has no intention of honoring it. Jones appeared to back that up on Wednesday, too, when asked if things would heat up now that the Cowboys are entering the second half of their training camp schedule back in Dallas and are closer to the start of the regular season. 'I don't know if necessarily talks will [pick up], but we've got a game coming, and he's under contract,' Jones said. Though Parsons has reported to every Cowboys practice in Southern California so far — he's not done too much, in part due to a back issue — and has avoided fines, it's clear that nothing has really changed on either side when it comes to his contract extension. The dispute is as public as ever, and it doesn't sound like that's going to change anytime soon. And Jones, at least outwardly, isn't pressed by some sort of deadline to get it done. "You don't have deadlines when you're playing under a contract," he said, via ESPN's Todd Archer. What happens between now and the Cowboys' season-opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4 is still anybody's guess.

Greg Olsen says he and Tom Brady have built 'really nice personal relationship' this past year at Fox
While Greg Olsen, an Emmy-award-winning color commentator, hasn't been shy about his feelings toward Fox management after his demotion last year, he's remained committed to separating his business grievances from his personal relationship with Tom Brady, who replaced him as the network's top game analyst. Olsen had Brady on the new episode of his podcast, "Youth Inc." to discuss Brady's youth sports journey and how it helped shape his competitive drive that eventually piloted seven Super Bowl victories. When Olsen joined "Yahoo Sports Daily" with Jason Fitz and Caroline Fenton Tuesday, Fitz referenced the recent Youth Inc. episode with Brady and asked Olsen if it's weird for him to be talking in that space with a colleague who is also a competitor in the sports broadcast industry. "It's really not weird at all," Olsen said. "Tom and I have gotten to know each other over the last 12 or so months and have actually gotten to have a really nice personal relationship. "We knew each other as players, but just on the field before and after games saying hello. But it wasn't really until Tom joined Fox that we really got to know each other more on a personal level, and I've just really enjoyed being around him, spending some time with him." Olsen said during his "Daily" appearance that he was just at the Fox seminar in California, where he caught up with Brady. But the former tight end's conversation with Brady on Youth Inc. was front and center for everyone to watch. And the All-Pros addressed the elephant in the room toward the end of the episode, albeit through the youth sports lens of how you can be a good teammate. "We've discussed this a lot privately. There's been a lot of speculation about our relationship, a lot of speculation about our working relationship," Olsen said on Youth Inc. "Something we used to try to preach with our kids all the time is, you can compete against people, but in order to prop myself up, I don't have to pull you down." Olsen added: "I think, and I'm not patting ourselves on the back by any means, I'm just using it as an example where you can be highly competitive and you can be highly motivated in a very competitive world that you and I now live in and still be incredible supporters of one another and still share information and still want to see each other do well." Brady notably took Olsen's place alongside Kevin Burkhardt as Fox's No. 1 game analyst after signing a 10-year, $375 million contract with the network. Brady's up-and-down rookie year in the booth ended with his first Super Bowl broadcast, just two years removed from Olsen calling the first iteration of Eagles-Chiefs on Fox. "I was very much a rookie this last year, but I looked up to a lot of people that I thought, 'Man, he does a great job!' And you're obviously one of the greats already at such a young age," Brady said to Olsen on Youth Inc. "I watched so much Greg Olsen broadcasting tape, and I just said, 'OK, well what's he do that I really like that maybe I can apply to what I'm doing in my prep or on air?' And then [do the same thing with] other people that have been in this business a long time because [I'm] trying something that's totally new and totally different." While alluding to the delayed gratification he received during the first chapters of his playing career, Brady stressed the importance of getting a little bit better every day. He also conceded that he knows not everyone's going to be a fan of his on-air work and that he's never going to be perfect. But, more than anything, he's trying to be "good with the man in the mirror," in other words proud of what he's working toward. "I'll be here for you for anything," Brady told Olsen on Youth Inc. "That's the reality when you ask anything, from now to the rest of my life, because you've been available to me, and that's what a great teammate is." Then Brady hinted at his and Olsen's competing roles in the network. "And there's a part with our jobs that people want to write about that — I don't give a s*** about any of that. I just care about my relationship to you," Brady said to Olsen on Youth Inc. "I know if I'm cool with you, that's all that matters. And I know that when you call, I answer. And I know when I call you, you answer. When I got a question, you answer it. And when you got a question, I answer it. ... This time will come and go, and the articles will come and go, but the only people that need to be cool are me and you, because that's all that matters to me in my life. So that's how I view it." Olsen is itching to call big-time games again, but he's also continuing to drive home the point that he can both push for that opportunity and support Brady in his role at Fox. Brady, meanwhile, is clearly thankful for that support.
