🏈 New Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers feels at home in Pittsburgh.
'This is a blue-collar town. The history of this great area is building the structure of the country. A lot of great people here, great fan base,' Rodgers said. 'We played here over the years. They even got their own song they play late in the third or in the fourth quarter. But it's a special, special place to play sports, just great blue-collar people. I'm excited to meet some of the fans along the way.'

Rodgers credits former Green Bay Packers head coach and Greenfield native Mike McCarthy for introducing Pittsburgh's blue-collar work ethic culture to him. In addition to several other Western Pa. natives or people with ties to the Steelers organization.
'I feel like Pittsburgh has been a part of my career from the beginning, playing for Mike McCarthy for 13 years, having Tom Clements — or Tommy Clements, depending on how old you are — as my quarterback coach forever, Dom Capers, Kevin Greene, Darren Perry, Ben McAdoo, Frank Cignetti, Luke Getsy. I don't want to forget anybody, but a lot of 'Yinzers' in my life.'
🏈 Cleveland Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson is trying to change the negative narrative associated with him after playing with three different teams in 2024.

'Everybody's going to have their opinions. At the end of the day, I'm the only one in that room who really knows what be going on. … Last year is last year. I'm trying to change that narrative,' Johnson said.
🏈 Diontae Johnson said the Browns were 'really the only team that hit me up.' He said former Steelers teammate Kenny Pickett factored into his decision to sign with Cleveland, as well.
🏈 Chuck Noll became the Steelers head coach in 1969 and went 1-13, 5-9, then 6-8 taking over an awful situation. Since then, Pittsburgh has had only seven losing seasons. And in those seven losing seasons combined, the #Steelers still won 41% of their games. One 5-11 season, three 6-10, and two 7-9 years, according to Matt Williamson of Steelers.com.
🏈 Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens thinks Dallas is the right place for him: 'Just the guys and the team speed. The team speed applies to the scheme too. If you got a lot of fast guys, you're gonna definitely have a different scheme.'

Pickens also said this is the most speed he's played with since his time at Georgia.
🏈 DK Metcalf looks forward to learning from Aaron Rodgers.
'I think it's still a work in progress, we're still growing. Besides being teammates, I think he's a great person off the field. I can learn a lot from him in life and about the game,' Metcalf said.
🏈 Steelers legend Rod Woodson expects big things from Aaron Rodgers as he begins his Steelers era.
'Two years removed from the (Achilles) injury — he's going to be a better player,' Woodson said on Up & Adams with Kay Adams.
🏈 Colin Cowherd of FS1 thinks Aaron Rodgers' tenure with the Steelers will be a disaster.

Why Malik Nabers Is Missing NY Giants' OTAs
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. With a new situation under center, the New York Giants hope to bring stability to their passing game. It could do wonders for the emerging superstar, Malik Nabers. The Daniel Jones era ended on a tough note. After 10 games of struggling, the former Duke star was benched before ultimately parting ways with the Giants' organization. The Giants had four quarterbacks under center at one point throughout the 2024 season. Drew Lock attempted 181 passes over eight games. Tommy DeVito threw 44 passes in three games, while Tim Boyle attempted 24 passes. Nabers proved his stardom by producing in any scenario. As a rookie, the first-rounder managed to put together a Pro Bowl campaign after three seasons at LSU. Heading into year two, the Giants have added a notable veteran quarterback in Russell Wilson to help with the continued development of the wideout. So far, Nabers and Wilson haven't had a chance to put it together at OTAs. As Wilson gets to work with his new weapons in New York, Nabers has been a non-participant due to health reasons. According to Nabers is currently recovering from a toe injury. The Giants aren't operating with the belief that Nabers' setback is severe. The team is simply being cautious at this time. Aller/Getty Images "Of course, it would be great if Nabers was out here catching passes from Wilson during OTAs. But the most important thing for the 21-year-old is to get fully healthy for the start of the season," writes Giants analyst Matt Citak. "I cannot imagine it will take long for Wilson and Nabers to build a connection of their own, and once they do, the sky is the limit for the star wideout. For right now, though, the veteran quarterback's growing chemistry with the other targets has been on full display these last couple of weeks." Throughout the 2024 NFL season, Nabers appeared in 15 games. He caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. The closest receiver on the team in terms of production was Wan'Dale Robinson, who caught 93 passes for 699 yards and three scores. While Nabers' absence still provides a hint of concern simply due to the fact that he's a cornerstone player, there are slight positives in his absence. Wilson now gets an opportunity to find comfort with other weapons on the depth chart, figuring out his other options beyond Nabers, who will undoubtedly garner a high volume of targets throughout the 2025 NFL season. Last week, Robinson sent a lot of praise Wilson's way after catching passes from the veteran quarterback throughout the early phase of spring practices. A lot of buzz has been built around the veteran Jalin Hyatt, as he's been dubbed a potential breakout candidate for the upcoming season. The Giants haven't offered a timeline on Nabers, but the assumption is that there isn't much to worry about.

Big Ben makes bold prediction on Aaron Rodgers' future: 'I think this might be it for him'
Big Ben makes bold prediction on Aaron Rodgers' future: 'I think this might be it for him' Aaron Rodgers hasn't even unpacked in Pittsburgh — and Ben Roethlisberger is already predicting how it all ends. On his podcast, Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, the legendary Steelers QB shared why he believes 2025 may be Rodgers' last season in the NFL: 'I don't think he's got much more after this year,' Roethlisberger said. 'I think this might be it for him — personally. I have no reason — you could ask, 'Well how do you know?' I don't know. I'm just guessing in terms of you coming off an Achilles [tear]. Coming off my elbow [injury], my first year back I felt like I was 100. I wasn't even — you don't realize you're not 100 until the next year when you are 100.' Roethlisberger stated that Rodgers will feel healthier this season, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll play better — before ultimately concluding his speculation on Rodgers' future: '…He's going to feel better, but it doesn't mean that he's going to have two or three years left. I think this might be his last go.' If this truly is his last season — and this may be wishful thinking — here's to hoping Rodgers can lead the Steelers to their first playoff win since the 2016 season. Former NFL star Brown wanted for attempted murder: police
Former NFL star Antonio Brown is wanted by police in Florida on charges of attempted murder (ELSA) Police in Florida have issued a warrant for the arrest of former NFL star Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder, authorities confirmed on Friday. Super Bowl-winner Brown is wanted in connection with an incident at an amateur boxing event in Miami on May 16. Advertisement A copy of the warrant said "several" witnesses saw Brown fire shots following a physical altercation with another man. The warrant said Brown had grabbed the handgun from a security guard. An off-duty police officer providing security for the event detained Brown before other police arrived on the scene. No gun was found on Brown, and the other man involved in the fight with the ex-Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver was not immediately located. The arrest warrant said two spent shell casings were recovered from the scene along with a discarded firearm holster. Brown later addressed the incident in a post on X on May 17, saying he had been "jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me." Advertisement "Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me," Brown wrote. "I went home that night and was not arrested." The incident is the latest in a long line of legal problems faced by Brown, who spent most of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before later winning a Super Bowl with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021. Brown was accused of sexual assault by a former trainer in a 2019 civil suit which he later settled, and also pleaded no contest to burglary and battery in 2020 after an incident with a removal truck company outside his home. Brown's NFL career came to an end after he famously removed his jersey and stormed off the field during a Tampa Bay game against the New York Jets in 2022. rcw/bb
