Huge Robert shock in early Emmerdale ITVX release
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has returned to the Emmerdale village and as much as he won't accept it, he isn't the same man who left all those years ago.
We saw Robert a few weeks ago, when he interrupted Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) wedding to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). It became apparent that Robert had been released after appealing, but he was quickly sent back inside after breaking the rules of his bail conditions.
But with his small sentenced served, Robert was allowed back out of prison and wasted no time in heading back to the Dales.
When he got there yesterday, Robert entered Mill Cottage flat due to John assuming he was the pizza delivery guy. Robert announced that he was back to spend time with his family – though it was obvious he had an ulterior motive as well.
In tonight's episode, Robert told Vic that he'd spend the day trying to find a new job. He had passed the early hours of the morning walking through the village because he couldn't sleep, but told his sister it was because he had missed the fresh air.
Robert headed up to the depot to see Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and spun a story about his life that didn't feature him in prison. Unfortunately for Robert, Caleb saw right through his lie due to being told about him by his brother.
However, Caleb could see that Robert wanted a chance and gave him one. It made John angry later in the pub, even more so when Caleb failed to listen to him about Robert being bad news.

That afternoon, while Vic was at the shop, Robert tried to catch up on some sleep. When she returned, Vic set about pouring a drink for the two of them. As she chatted away, she failed to realise Robert was suffering a bad dream about his time in prison. More Trending
Vic tapped Robert's leg to wake him up but just as he opened his eyes, his confused state led him to punching Vic in the face.
Robert tried to help her, but a panicked Vic told him to leave.
Can she live alongside Robert and his trauma following years behind bars?

Miley Cyrus claims she was once blamed for dad's Hannah Montana drug use
Miley Cyrus has claimed her dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to 'smoke pot' on the set of Hannah Montana – and she got the blame. The 32-year-old singer, who shot to fame playing a teenage school girl with a secret life as a pop star on the Disney Channel sitcom between 2006 and 2011, admitted the awkward moment was her most 'hilarious' memory from the series. During an appearance on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus' Sorry We're Cyrus podcast, Miley was asked to share her funniest memory from the show. 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it. It's hilarious,' she recalled. 'He wasn't sharing 'cause Tish wasn't toking yet.' Her mother laughed as she remembered the incident, and joked she tried to defend her then-husband – who she divorced in 2023 – while putting the blame on Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso. 'They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying: ''Absolutely not, he would never do that. It's Mitchel Musso,'' she quipped. Miley replied: 'Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.' However, Mitchel – who played Miley's friend Oliver on the show – had different memories of the incident. 'Well, that's not how I remember it,' the 33-year-old former child star said in a statement to E! News. 'However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. 'If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history – just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam … even when the rewrites get this creative.' Elsewhere during the chat with her mum and sister, Miley also revealed a recent incident in which her mother seemingly unfollowed her on Instagram after the singer went to see Billy Ray, 63. More Trending This sparked rumours of another family feud – but the singer has revealed it was actually just a 'bug' in the platform. 'If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing. I went to see B-Ray, and you did mysteriously unfollow me – and then you got some backlash and suddenly knew how to press that follow button,' she joked. 'The truth is boring. There's a bug in Meta, it naturally unfollows the person that you follow with the most engagement … I was either, like: 'Mom lost her glasses and can't see,' which is what I thought happened. Then, there was actually a bug in Meta.' View More » Metro has contacted Billy Ray Cyrus' reps for comment. Got a story? Legendary BBC series hailed as ‘guilty pleasure' streaming for free in UK
A cult TV series has been added to a streaming service in its entirety for the first time ever, giving audiences a rare opportunity to watch it the whole way through. Eldorado, the short-lived BBC One soap from EastEnders creators Tony Holland and Julia Smith, is available to watch on UKTV Play. The iconic soap, which ran for just 156 episodes, followed the lives of British and European expatriates who resided in the fictional town of Los Barcos in Spain. It hit screens first in 1992, with BBC bosses hopeful of replicating the success of Australian imports such as Neighbours or Home and Away. The show didn't exactly pan out as the station hoped, though it did undergo huge changes towards the end of its run, which received positive reviews from audiences and an uptick in ratings. Despite the improvements, however, Eldorado was ultimately cancelled in 1993. Viewers who missed the BBC serial first time around have had few opportunities in the subsequent decades to give it a go, with the soap having been re-run on TV a number of times. UK Gold screened it in the late 90s and early noughties and a selection of episodes were made available on the UK's BritBox a few years ago. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? U&Drama re-ran the cult soap in its entirety earlier this year, with episodes added to streaming service UKTV Play for a short time after broadcast. However, the service has now re-added the earlier episodes, meaning that – for the first time ever – fans can essentially stream the whole Los Barcos saga. Though Eldorado was critiqued during its initial run, fan opinion has softened over the years. One viewer wrote on Reddit that they were enjoying the latest round of re-runs, branding the serial a 'guilty pleasure.' Another called the show 'brilliant' and 'comedy gold'. Just two weeks into the re-runs, fans were quick to share their delight at being able to revisit the sunny soap. '#Eldorado continues to deliver absolute camp' said one on X. More Trending Another added: 'Enjoying the repeats of Eldorado. I mean I can't hear it half the time but at least I can blame those Spanish acoustics and not my age.' 'Thoroughly enjoyed the first episodes of #Eldorado being repeated yesterday' said one. When the repeats concluded, fan James wrote on X: 'Los Barcos, I'm gonna miss you,' referring to the overhauled era of the show as 'f***ing fantastic television'. Chris Brown pleads not guilty to ‘bottle attack' in UK nightclub charge
Chris Brown is accused of attempting to maliciously cause grievous bodily harm. R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty following an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub. The American musician, 36, is accused of attempting to unlawfully and maliciously cause grievous bodily harm with intent to Abraham Diaw on February 19 2023 at the Tape venue in Hanover Square, Mayfair. At Southwark Crown Court this morning, his co-defendant, US national Omololu Akinlolu, denied the same charge in a plea and trial preparation hearing. Brown was freed on conditional bail last month and was able to continue his international tour. As part of the bail agreement, the Go Crazy singer had to pay a £5 million security fee to the court - a financial guarantee to ensure a defendant returns to court and may be forfeited if they breach bail conditions. Both defendants are further charged with assaulting Mr Diaw occasioning him actual bodily harm, with Brown also facing one count of having an offensive weapon – a bottle – in a public place. They were not asked to enter pleas to those charges with a further court hearing set for July 11. Around 20 people - many of them fans of Brown - sat in the public gallery behind the dock for Friday's hearing. Brown had arrived at around 9am to a large group of photographers outside the court, and walked in silence to the building's entrance. A date of October 26 2026 was set for a five to seven-day trial.
