Valdosta star DL commits to Georgia football

The Georgia Bulldogs have gained another commitment from three-star defensive line recruit Corey Howard. Howard is Georgia's third commitment along the defense line along with four-stars Carter Luckie and Seven Cloud.
The 6-foot-6, 245-pound edge rusher plays high school football for Georgia high school powerhouse Valdosta High School in Valdosta, Georgia. Howard is ranked as the No. 79 recruit in Georgia, per 247Sports. The Valdosta star is the No. 86 player at his position in the country.

Howard had offers from East Carolina, Florida, Florida Atlantic and Georgia State along with more Group of Five schools. The top competitor for Georgia was the Florida Gators. Howard has logged an official visit to both schools.
Howard is a versatile player for his high school team. He plays defensive line and is also the starting punter. Georgia signed four-star safety Todd Robinson, who also played for Valdosta, in the class of 2025.
Kirby Smart and company now have a total of 20 commits in their 2026 recruiting class.

America's Team is headed back to Oxnard, California for training camp from July 22 through August 13. This year's camp will mark the 46th year the team has trained in Southern California and the 19th season they have spent camp at the Oxnard location. It's also the first training camp for Brian Schottenheimer as the team's head coach – prior to replacing Mike McCarthy, Schottenheimer was offensive coordinator for two seasons. Fans can attend all practice sessions that are open to the public for free. Entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis, the team said. Workouts take place at 11:30 a.m. PT July 22 and public entry opens two hours before practice. The rest of the practices begin at 11:45 a.m. PT. The practices include three preseason games, the first being against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on August 9. Training camp wraps up in Oxnard on August 13, then picks back up at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco before the team's first preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens at AT&T Stadium on August 16. Selected practices at The Star will be open to the public and will be announced at a later date, according to the team. Apple continues to expand its sports offerings for mobile users. On Wednesday, the company announced new updates to the Apple Sports app that include a revamped home screen and the addition of tennis ahead of the Wimbledon championships. All the changes were launched on the app today. This tennis season, you can check out live scores (or from past tournament rounds) for men's and women's matches. Apple Sports will allow you to track points and player advancement throughout events like Grand Slam or Wimbledon. Though the app doesn't currently offer the ability to follow individual players, tournament information can be showcased on the home display if you add and customize the tennis options. Sports fans will notice that the home screen is now organized by whichever leagues you keep up with. For example, if you follow MLB, you'll see a more personalized display for your favorite teams, with game stats for yesterday, today, and information for any upcoming events. If you're following multiple sports and leagues, -- including tennis -- you can re-order which ones show up first on your screen and the app will adapt to your preferences.
