By: Stefyanie Myla Micheal Text Size: PENAMPANG: Police here are looking for the next of kin or relatives of a man in his 30s found drowned by the public in Sungai Moyog, Kampung Tuavon, at 4.30pm on Jan. 14. Penampang Police Chief DSP Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the victim was wearing a black long-sleeved T-shirt and black trousers. 'The victim also has a heart-shaped tattoo with the words 'Aya' and 'Johan' on his right arm. 'The body is still in the Forensic Department, Queen Elizabeth 1 Hospital, Kota Kinabalu and waiting for family members to come forward to claim it,' he said, Thursday. Mohd Haris urged anyone who has lost a family member or has information is requested to immediately contact the Investigating Officer, ASP Mohamediah Sani at 019-8634811 or IPD Penampang at 088-712222.

Driver dies, teen injured in Ranau crash

RANAU: A 42-year-old man died and another was injured after the Perodua Kancil they were travelling in collided with a palm fruit-laden lorry along KM45 of the Ranau-Telupid Road on Sunday. The Fire and Rescue Department said the car, believed to be heading towards Ranau, had veered into the opposite lane before the crash at about 1.15pm. The driver, Sylvester Pius Gulmit, was confirmed dead while receiving treatment at the Paginatan Health Clinic. His 18-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries, including scratches and bruises. Russia says 291 Ukrainian drones downed
MOSCOW (Reuters) -Russian air defence units downed 291 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Sunday. "Air defence systems downed two guided aircraft bombs, three projectiles of Czech-made Vampire multiple rocket launch systems and 291 fixed-wing drones," the ministry said on its Telegram channel. LAHAD DATU: Marine police have uncovered a crude palm oil (CPO) misappropriation syndicate worth RM2.29 million after raiding an illegal storage facility at Batu 15 along Jalan Lahad Datu-Sandakan. Sabah Region Four Marine Police Commander ACP Mohd Nazri Ibrahim said the raid on July 25 at 12.50pm led to the discovery of 77,590kg of CPO. Officers also seized two trucks, a van, and an oil storage tank during the operation. Five Malaysians and a foreign national, aged between 20 and 53, were detained to assist with investigations under the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Regulations 2005.
