Six vehicles damaged by fallen tree at SMK Puchong Perdana

KUALA LUMPUR: An Indonesian woman and her young son had a harrowing experience after the car they were in was struck by a falling tree at about 6 pm in Taman Puchong Perdana, today.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said the woman, in her 30s, and her two-year-old son did not sustain any injuries.
She was rescued from their Toyota Avanza by members of the public before the rescue team arrived at the scene.
He said JBPM received an emergency call at 6.25 pm reporting that a tree had fallen and damaged six vehicles at SMK Puchong Perdana, Jalan Perdana, Taman Puchong Perdana, Puchong.
'A fire engine with 11 personnel and an ambulance from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene. Six vehicles were damaged in the incident, namely a Perodua Aruz, Perodua Myvi, Proton Wira, Proton Waja, a one-tonne lorry, and a Toyota Avanza,' he said in a statement today.

Tour bus carrying Vietnamese tourists crashes in Genting, no serious injuries reported

KUANTAN: A tour bus carrying mostly Vietnamese nationals crashed into two cars while descending from Genting Highlands in Bentong this afternoon, but no serious injuries were reported. Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the 5pm incident at Km17.3 involved a bus driven by a local man with 21 passengers, including a tour guide, on board. "The bus went out of control before hitting the rear of a Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Innova, forcing all three vehicles onto the road shoulder. "The bus driver sustained minor injuries, while all passengers escaped unhurt. "The Myvi driver also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bentong Hospital by members of the public, while the passengers were unharmed. "The Toyota Innova driver and passengers also did not sustain any injuries," he said in a statement today. A Pahang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the bus was travelling from Genting Highlands to Batu Caves, Gombak, at the time of the crash. He said a Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) with three personnel from the Genting Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene. – BERNAMA
