DC Boss James Gunn Confirms Superman Saga: ‘I Have Already Finished…'

News187 hours ago
James Gunn shared that he has already completed the story treatment for the next chapter, which he calls the Superman Saga.
Peacemaker Season 2, featuring John Cena, is all set to arrive on August 21. During its recent premiere event, James Gunn revealed how the show will link future DC Universe (DCU) projects, including the next Superman movie. The filmmaker shared that he has already completed the story 'treatment" for the next chapter, which he calls the 'Superman Saga." While an official release date for the project isn't confirmed yet, Gunn mentioned that production is expected to begin soon.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the DC boss said, 'I've already finished the treatment for the next story in what I'll call the Superman Saga. The treatment is done, which means a very, very worked out treatment. I'm working on that and hopefully going into production on that not too far away from today."

How Peacemaker Season 2 Connects Upcoming DC Universe:
James Gunn also revealed that Peacemaker Season 2 will play a key role in connecting future stories. According to the filmmaker, 'It's a big part, definitely Superman leads directly into Peacemaker. It should be noted that this is for adults, not for children, but Superman leads into this show and then we have the setting up of all of the rest of the DCU in this season of Peacemaker. It's incredibly important."
Gunn explained that John Cena's series will feature many old characters and guest stars, including those who have already appeared in the Superman movie. He said this season is his favourite work and he is very excited for fans to watch it. Cena added that the new season continues the story rather than being a new show. The season will follow the 11th Street Kids on their next adventure while also moving the other DCU storyline forward.
Several big projects in DCU are lined up for the coming years. Supergirl and Clayface are set to release in 2026, followed by a new Wonder Woman movie. The Batman 2, part of Matt Reeves' Batman Epic Crime Saga, is expected to come out in 2027, while The Brave and the Bold will introduce a new version of Batman into the DCU. The Penguin Season 2 is planned, Peacemaker Season 2 will arrive soon and a Lanterns series is scheduled for 2026. All of these movies and shows are part of Gods & Monsters.

James Gunn reveals Margot Robbie may not return as Harley Quinn in future DC projects

Regarding Margot Robbie 's comeback as Harley Quinn, James Gunn is keeping fans in suspense. After playing the anti-heroine in three significant DC movies, such as 2016's 'Suicide Squad,' 2020's 'Birds of Prey,' and 2021's 'The Suicide Squad,' the 'Barbie' star has come to represent the wild charm of Harley Quinn. However, Robbie's future in the franchise is still up in the air as Gunn leads a significant overhaul of the DC Universe. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, James Gunn was asked whether Margot Robbie would reprise her role as Harley Quinn. He remained non-committal, saying that her return will be revealed in the future. While he didn't specifically comment on Harley, Gunn hinted that he is exploring ways to bring Idris Elba 's character, Bloodsport, back into the story and figuring out where he might fit in upcoming projects. In contrast, Robbie has been active outside of the superhero world, achieving both critical and commercial success with 'Barbie,' which in 2023 became a cultural phenomenon. Robbie is at present in talks to play the lead in Tim Burton 's reimagining of 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman.'According to The Insneider, the 35-year-old actress is being considered for the lead role in the 66-year-old director's next Warner Bros. film, which she would also produce with her LuckyChap production company. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Rates Undo After an alien encounter turns a powerful heiress into a giant, the original 1958 vintage is a science-fiction horror tale about her seeking revenge on her cheating husband. Kai Dolbashian is the executive producer, and Tommy Harper and Andrew Mittman are also producing. Variety claims that after completing a first draft of the screenplay, Flynn left the project because of other obligations, and the producing team is now looking for a new writer. The final draft of the script would determine Robbie's engagement. In addition, Robbie will co-star in the film with her Barbie co-star Ryan Gosling and produce the Ocean's prequel under her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. Indian mission in UK marks Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

Agency: London, Aug 14 (PTI) The High Commission of India in London on Thursday commemorated Partition Horrors Remembrance Day with a special photography exhibition and a documentary screening reflecting upon India's Partition in August 1947. The solemn gathering of community leaders and Indian diaspora members recounted some of the painful memories of the past a day before the 79th Independence Day celebrations planned at India House on Friday. 'When we recall Partition, we must also recall that this was a tragedy for everybody, because it was a tragedy that happened to all communities," said Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami, in his address to the gathering. Doraiswami said that many people were uprooted to come to India and likewise in Pakistan and that impact is still seen in the way people deal with each other even now. 'That at least should tell us, if nothing else, that the experiment that is the modern Indian nation is a valid argument," he added. 'Our continued existence as a state that is there for all Indian citizens is the best answer we can give anybody who seeks to suggest that we are different by virtue of our faith or by dealing with the absence of faith," he said. UK-based filmmaker Lalit Mohan Joshi presented an abridged version of his documentary 'Beyond Partition', which captured the voices of leading artists such as Shyam Benegal, Govind Nihalani and Gulzar who have explored the subject of Partition in their cinematic journey over the years. 'My film explores the trauma of Partition and how it impacted on filmmakers from the Indian subcontinent," said Joshi. The memorial event, held in the Gandhi Hall of India House, concluded with the Indian National Anthem before moving to the Nehru Hall for a tour of the photographic exhibition tracing the history of the Partition.
