‘It's just the unknown': Brother of Belfast man missing in France to fly to Paris to intensify search
The 38-year-old oil rig worker was returning from a stint working at a west African site in Benin and was set to board his connecting flight from Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris.
Louis Kincaid, Robert's brother, said that he had also previously worked in central Africa.
His last known point of contact is understood to have been a video call with a friend made from a bar in the airport.
Louis told this newspaper: 'I think he was in the airport bar having a chat basically. As far as I'm aware, there was nothing bad said, there was nothing suspicious said.
'They were just having a bit of craic over the phone.
'He's a very sociable person, but he could have met someone in the airport bar — we just don't know.'
A friend video-called Robert again, although a stranger answered the phone instead.
'It looked like [they were in] a tin corrugated roof building. They basically said the phone [battery] was on 0% in broken English,' Louis explained.
The second and final call made to Robert's phone was picked up by a woman, but the caller was unable to make out what was said before the line was cut off and has been uncontactable ever since.
Messages to Robert on WhatsApp and other social media are also no longer being delivered.

Louis added: 'We're in the dark. We went through the PSNI. We went through the embassy — they've done a fantastic job. I have to give credit to the two girls who are working there now.
'We're trying to get some details, but there are a lot of restrictions with GDPR regarding missing people and it's just roadblocks.'
After contacting the PSNI, Louis was directed towards the French authorities, but has found difficulty making contact from Northern Ireland.
Louis and a family friend will fly to Paris on Wednesday to meet with British embassy officials who will help the pair liaise with local police.
'There's going to be someone meeting us.
'The Foreign Office has organised someone to meet us, it's someone in the airport,' said Louis.
'They're going to help us with translation, and we're going to file an official missing persons report in Paris, and then we're just going to be going about, putting posters all around places.'
Louis added: 'He doesn't have any contacts in France, but he is a very sociable person, he would make friends with anyone.'
He explained that his family is growing increasingly worried as time goes on.
Louis said: 'They're holding together, it's just the unknown.
'Mum's not really sleeping at the moment. It is starting to get to her as the days go on.'

British pensioner found dead in Greek hotel swimming pool as three arrested
A young lifeguard is among those taken into police custody. A 78-year-old British tourist has died after falling ill while swimming in a pool on the Greek island of Crete. The woman was pulled from the water at her hotel in the town of Hersonissos. Despite being given first aid, emergency crews were unable to save her. She was sadly pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later. Three people have since been arrested on suspicion of negligent manslaughter, including a 21-year-old lifeguard who was meant to be watching the pool, the Mirror reports. Two hotel managers, aged 51 and 41, were also taken into custody. Local media reports state all three have since been released on bail. The tragedy comes after several incidents in Greece this summer. Last month, another British tourist was found dead on a beach sun lounger. The 74-year-old man was found unconscious on Crete's Stalis Beach. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he did not survive. It is understood he had been swimming beforehand, and reportedly had a "strong feeling" of sickness just before his death. No cause of death has been confirmed yet by Greek authorities. A few days later, a young girl was found dead on another beach by a man going for a late-night swim. The tot, believed to only be around two or three years old, was found in the sand on Eden Beach in Paleo Faliro, near Athens. The man called emergency services, who rushed her to Agia Sofia Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination revealed disturbing details about what happened to her prior to her death. A forensic doctor found bruising to her lips, and injuries to her head and body suggesting she had been abused. Some local media reported she was found to be "very thin". It is suspected she came to harm about three to four hours before her death.

Study confirms women in politics receive more attacks and abuse on social media than men
The research, which analysed millions of posts, also found that the language aimed at politicians in the UK contained more abusive words than those in other countries Female politicians in Europe receive more identity-based attacks than other politicians, according to new research. The study analysed 23 million posts on X addressed to politicians in the UK, Spain, Germany and the US, and found that women in Europe experience online "incivility" regardless of how well known they are. Incivility has been defined as posts which contain hate speech or assign stereotypes, undermine or exclude a social group, or threaten someone's rights. It also includes posts that name-call (such as 'weirdo' or 'idiot'), cast aspersions ('liar' or 'traitor'), use pejorative speak, sarcasm, and all-caps. It comes after Nigel Farage unveiled an ex-Tory who made racist remark on WhatsApp as its newest defector. This incivility faced by female politicians can include everything from misogynistic and sexist comments to violent threats, or attempts to defame or humiliate. Lead researcher of the study, Maarja Lühiste, associate professor of politics at Newcastle University, said: "We noticed that female candidates targeted with abusive language typically receive more morality-focused words, such as 'vile,' 'shame,' 'shameful,' 'disgraceful,' 'hypocrite,' and 'deluded.'' Lühiste added: "They also receive messages with more references to personal attacks—including words like 'kill,' 'destroy,' and 'rape'—rather than simple swear words." The study, published in Politics & Gender by Cambridge University Press, found that the posts aimed at Spanish and German politicians appeared to use fewer deliberately abusive words than those aimed at US and UK politicians. Lühiste explained: 'Both men and women politicians experience incivility and, overall, the more famous they are, the more abuse they receive. BUT women in Europe receive uncivil tweets even when they're not well known.' Multiple female politicians in the UK have opened up about experiencing online abuse. In 2019, Heidi Allen said she would be stepping down as MP after experiencing 'utterly dehumanising' abuse. Nicky Morgan also announced that she would no longer be serving as an MP that same year, saying: "I think the role of being an MP has changed. I think the abuse, because of the platforms, because of how strongly people feel about the current political situation, that has changed enormously in the almost 10 years since I started." Angela Rayner has previously spoken up about facing such abuse that she barely read online posts. In 2023, she said she believed female politicians experienced more abuse, explaining: "Whether it's a Conservative MP, SNP or Labour it doesn't matter, it's mainly women that get the abuse. They want to silence us.' Scots drug kingpin Ross 'Miami' McGill warned 'We'll take you out in the desert'
Rivals have told Dubai-based drugs kingpin Ross McGill not to play hide and seek. Dubai-based drugs kingpin Ross McGill has been warned by his enemies that he'll be taken out in the desert. The chilling threat was made by rivals fronted by mob boss Mark Richardson and Glasgow's Daniel crime clan. They have demanded McGill, 31, comes back to Scotland to face them or else he'll be targeted in the United Arab Emirates. In a message posted online they said: 'It will have to be the desert in Dubai. "Come home. Finish what you started. No more hide and seek.' Other posts have branded McGill a 'rat' and a 'p***y'. The feud started after an associate of Richardson, 38, ripped off McGill for £500,000 in a drug deal. McGill's Tamo Junto gang then waged war on the caged crime boss and the Daniels. Cops have so far made 55 arrests in connection with the feud as part of Operation Portelage. It's seen claims McGill has run out of foot soldiers and is lying low. A source said: "McGill has been splashing the cash getting a bunch of young laddies to carry out his attacks and record it on their phones. "All while he hides out in Dubai and then leaks the footage. Anyone with a bit of cash can do what he's done. It's time for him to be a man and front up. The net is closing in on him." It was reported last month McGill was confronted by another gangster at a gym in Dubai over the heat he has brought. Stephen 'Jimmy' Jamieson is understood to have clashed with McGill during the bust-up. The most recent arrest linked to the gang war was on July 18, when a man was collared and charged in connection with wilful fireraising and firearms offences. Jordan Steele, 38, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on July 21 in connection with the alleged firebombing of the Belle Cheveux beauty salon in the city's Leith on March 6. Steele was charged with firearms offences, including possessing a firearm without authorisation. He made no plea and was granted bail. A 26-year-old man was also arrested in connection with alleged damage at a property on Walter Scott Avenue in Edinburgh on June 12 and an alleged wilful fireraising at a property on Jackson Way in Tranent, East Lothian, the next day. Another 26-year-old man was charged in connection with two alleged vehicle fires in nearby Port Seton on May 18. Numerous firebombings and violent attacks have been carried out in Edinburgh and Glasgow since the feud erupted in March.
