Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders could be subject to a ‘second draft'
The Colorado Buffaloes legend enters Browns training camp as seemingly the fourth quarterback in a four-QB competition.

If Sanders can't leapfrog Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett or Dillon Gabriel, his job security could come into question.
And if that happens, the rest of the NFL will be watching.
That's because if the Browns try to sneak Sanders onto their practice squad, he'll be subject to waivers. And the rest of the league could try to claim him.
"You're not keeping four QBs," NFL Network's Mike Garafolo said earlier this week. "If No. 12 becomes available, it's almost going to be like a second draft. Training camp is going to be so important for these rookies."

You could interpret Garafolo's "second draft" comment a couple of ways.
Clearly, he doesn't mean an actual draft.
Instead, it's the idea that Sanders would then be on offer to the whole league, again. Everyone had a chance to draft him in April as he slid from a consensus first-round pick to round five and pick No. 144.
If he goes on waivers, it'll be deja vu all over again for the rest of the league. Is Sanders worth the claim?
Maybe the calculus has changed a bit after some positive reviews have come in on Sanders through the Cleveland offseason program. It's still tough to picture who would take the plunge this time after not doing so the first time.

There's still lots and lots to be decided for the Browns, that's for sure.

During the most recent NFL Players Association report card that became public, Philadelphia had one of the highest average grades across all categories, including owner, training facility, food/cafeteria and more. Notre Dame alum, Tampa Bay Bucs rookie CB Benjamin Morrison grateful to be healthy again
Former Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison is on the comeback trail during his first NFL training camp. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie says he is grateful to be back on the football field after his season-ending injury with the Fighting Irish last season. Morrison is feeling like himself again, which is great news for the Irish alum. Morrison was considered one of the top cornerbacks in this past April's draft, but he underwent bilateral hip surgery that cup short his 2024 season with the Fighting Irish to just six games. So there was some uncertainty as to where he would be drafted, but Tampa Bay ended up selecting him at No. 53 overall (the fifth player taken at his position). And when he received a phone call from Bucs general manager Jason Licht and head coach Todd Bowles, he let out all of his emotions in a video that ended up going viral. Hopefully a return to full health is what we see from Morrison, as when he's out on the field, he's a lock-down corner.
