The Block's 2026 location accidentally revealed after $11 million deal

Yahoo2 days ago
The Block's next location has been revealed after show regulars accidentally exposed the location of the $11m development site. The 2026 season appears to be taking place in the Mornington Peninsula, according to realestate.com.au.
The location is at 109 Old Mornington Rd, Mt Eliza, to be exact. The show's preferred architects, Nine in Six (who have worked on the show for 10 seasons), were seen in the area having coffee in branded shirts. After the sale, it seems like all signs are pointing to it as The Block's new location. This year's season is currently taking place in Daylesford.
The $11m property was sold by former racing driver and Porsche enthusiast Rusty French, who purchased the site for $2.8m in 2007 and has been trying to sell it since 2016.
His more recent sales campaign included a subdivision of 10 blocks of land, with development plans that would have homes built with features like swimming pools and luxury finishes to complement the water views. It's unknown, however, if the show will change those designs before they shoot.
Six of the ten blocks have been marked as sold, while four are still up for sale, however, it's believed that The Block might have leased the remaining four sites for the duration of filming, which would allow for extra space for production.

Real estate agency Kay & Burton describes the location on their website as: "Set on an elevated site with sweeping views of Port Phillip Bay, this boutique community is thoughtfully planned to maximise the natural beauty and tranquillity of its surroundings. Each proposed residence has been designed with spacious layouts, high-quality finishes, and seamless indoor-outdoor living — ideal for those seeking style, comfort, and a strong connection to nature.
"Located just a 10-minute walk from the beach and moments from the vibrant Mount Eliza Village, residents will enjoy the best of coastal living with everyday convenience. The development is ideally situated near elite schools including Peninsula Grammar and Toorak College, scenic trails in Mount Eliza Regional Park, and essential services like Frankston Hospital. With easy access to public transport and major arterials such as Peninsula Link, commuting to Frankston or the Melbourne CBD is effortless."

Get Ready for Football Season With NFL Retro Bowl 26 on Apple Arcade

The NFL preseason has started, which means football will occupy a lot of TVs for the next few months. To help you get in the mood for football season, Apple is planning to bring NFL Retro Bowl '26 to Apple Arcade on Sept. 4. Apple Arcade is filled with familiar and classic games, alongside exclusive titles, that you can play for $7 per month (£7, AU$10). Many of these games can be found in the App Store, but they may have paywalls and ads that hinder your gaming experience. An Apple Arcade subscription gives you access to games without paywalls and ads, a feature usually denoted by "Plus" in the name. Here are all the games Apple plans to bring to the service on Sept. 4. You can also check out the games Apple added in August, like Worms Across Worlds. NFL Retro Bowl '26 Developer: New Star Games Apple This NFL and NFLPA-licensed game brings authentic team rosters and NFL players to your mobile screen in fun retro visuals, just like last year's Retro Bowl '25. This year's game introduces a new game mode called NFL Retro Bowl Championship Leaderboard. In this mode, you can play as your favorite teams in weekly matchups that align with the 2025 season. Hopefully, my Cincinnati Bengals will return to the Super Bowl this year, but if not, I can at least take them there in this game. Jeopardy! Daily Developer: Frosty Pop Games Apple Jeopardy! Daily is a daily game that brings clues crafted by the show's writers to your screen, where you have to answer in the form of a question. In this trivia game, you can upload your score to the global leaderboards, test your knowledge in unique game modes and more. My Talking Tom Friends Plus Developer: Outfit7 Apple Join Talking Tom, Angela and other virtual pets as they go on adventures into town, play minigames and more. This interactive life-sim brings all the Talking Tom and Friends characters together in one place, so you can take care of the different pets, dress them up in fun costumes and create your own adventures. You can access these games in Apple Arcade on Sept. 4, but there are plenty of other games to play on the service, which costs $7 a month or $50 annually. You can also try Apple Arcade for free for one month with your first sign-up, or you can get a three-month free trial when you buy a new Apple device. To access Apple Arcade, open the App Store on your iOS or iPadOS device and tap the joystick in the menu bar.

MasterChef 2025 winner announced in nail-biting finale: 'So proud of myself'

This year's season of MasterChef Australia came to a dramatic end on Tuesday night with Callum Hann and Laura Sharrad going head-to-head for the title. The two finalists have had remarkably similar journeys on the show, having both finished runner-up on their original season and competed on the first 'Back To Win' in 2020. Armed with very different skill sets, the South Australian restaurateurs had to impress the judges in a two-round cook starting with an ingredient knockout challenge, followed by a pressure test set by pastry chef Michael 'Miko' Llamanzares-Aspiras. Round one saw Callum make a one-bite potato, rosemary, and oyster and receive a total of 38 points, while Laura served a samphire and potato risotto with a smoked pipi broth and also scored 38 points. For round two, they each had 4.5 hours to recreate Miko's Botanical Garden, which was an edible bouquet of flowers consisting of 149 steps. Callum was given 35 points, while Laura earned 48 points. Ultimately, Laura was crowned the 2025 champion with a total score of 80 points and was awarded $250,000. Callum received $40,000 for finishing second, and Jamie Fleming took home $10,000 for coming third. 'This is like the most surreal feeling in the whole entire world,' she said following the win. 'I'm truly so proud of myself for coming back for a third time, and completely setting myself up for heartbreak, and pulling off what I never thought I really could do, but I've wanted to for so long. 'I've dreamt of this moment since I was 13. To have my family here, to have had Florence up here today, watching me cook, has been the most truly special experience of my life.' Andy Allen's tribute to Jock Zonfrillo Laura went on to thank Callum, adding: 'Just the support that you've shown me throughout this competition both times has been so truly special. So thank you so much for everything.' Andy Allen also said that Jock Zonfrillo, who was Laura's mentor before his passing in 2023, would be incredibly proud of her. 'Laura, in this moment with you finally winning the title, it feels right to mention how proud Jock would be of you,' he remarked. 'And it's so amazing to know that he lives on through your food. So thank you.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by MasterChef Australia (@masterchefau) Little-known fact about prize money While Laura is now a quarter of a million dollars richer following her third stint on the Channel 10 show, the money likely won't hit her account for quite some time. Season nine champion Diana Chan told Yahoo Lifestyle in 2023 that she didn't receive the eye-watering amount of cash until months after filming had wrapped. 'You don't get it instantly,' she shared. 'I don't know if I'm actually meant to mention this, but I didn't get it until like five months later.' 'To be honest, I was making a decent amount of money doing other things that I actually put it aside and invested it,' she recalled. 'I wouldn't say I have it now anymore, this is six years down the track, but you use it on different things to start your career and whatever you want to do. The money's there, and they never say, 'You have to do this with the money'. So it's entirely up to you what you want to do.'

Angelina Jolie Is Prepping Her Historic Home for Sale amid Plans to Leave L.A. and Move Abroad (Exclusive Source)

The 'Maria' star has been 'eyeing several locations abroad' as she plans to officially let go of her Los Angeles estate, a source tells PEOPLENEED TO KNOW Angelina Jolie is preparing to sell her historic L.A. home amid her plans to move abroad, a source tells PEOPLE The Academy Award winner is planning to make some minor improvements to her famous Cecil B. DeMille Estate before selling the property She first purchased the home in 2017 and has still been living there 'because of the custody arrangement' with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, the source addsAngelina Jolie is ready to part ways with her historic Los Angeles home. The Maria star, 50, is officially planning to 'put the house up for sale' as she explores a move abroad, a source tells PEOPLE. Page Six was the first to report the news. Jolie 'never wanted to live in L.A. full time. She didn't have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad,' continues the source, referring to the star's ex-husband Brad Pitt, 61. The exes — who reached a divorce settlement in December 2024 after an eight-year legal battle — share six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17. The source adds that Jolie 'plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She's eyeing several locations abroad. She'll be very happy when she's able to leave Los Angeles." Of Jolie's Los Angeles home, the source notes, 'It's a historic masterpiece and truly such a beautiful estate.' Another insider confirms that the Without Blood writer/director is planning on selling the home after she makes some minor improvements to it. Jolie purchased the historic 1913-build in 2017 for $24.5 million, a source told PEOPLE at the time. The sprawling property boasts six bedrooms and ten bathrooms across 11,000 square feet. Its Hollywood ties make it a one-of-a-kind property, as it was purchased by director Cecil B. DeMille for under $28,000 in 1916, PEOPLE previously reported. Charlie Chaplin also lived in a neighboring house, but after he moved out, DeMille purchased and combined the two estates. Jolie previously opened up about why she's still living in Los Angeles despite her desire to leave, per a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The Academy Award winner, who filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016 after two years of marriage, told the outlet at the time that she is currently in the city "because I have to be here from a divorce." However, once her twins turn 18, Jolie said she's ready to live abroad full time as she seeks qualities that Los Angeles can't offer her or her children. "When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," she said at the time. "I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. After she leaves L.A., she noted, "I'll spend a lot of time in Cambodia," which is where she adopted her oldest son Maddox in 2002. She added, "I'll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.' Jolie previously shared that Cambodia is the one place 'in my heart' that she considers her home during a conversation at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February.
