But a recent post on his Instagram revealed that the 31-year-old now works as a marksman for his own company which offers pest control and wildlife management in Essex.
Sam modeled some of the gear he wears and uses, including a 12ft/lbs air rifle sub.
"Putting the @jack_pyke gear to the test, with some great shooting out on the farm today. Good quality 'get up' breeds good performance if you ask me," Sam captioned the post where he posed in camouflage gear while holding the large rifle.
The business is described as "professional and ethical pest control and UK wild game management, carried out using precision rifle methods and "ideal for rural properties across Essex."
Along with modelling some of his favourite hunting clothes, Sam also revealed he'd recently partnered with a local butcher to process small game, such as rabbit, pigeon or partridge among others, that he captures through his work.
"Proud to be turning pest control into a real food resource and reducing waste whilst helping landowners manage their properties," Sam wrote on the business' Facebook page.
Sam also runs another business where he offers mobile car retuning around Essex.
But the X Factor alum has not given up on singing entirely and last week performed a set at Bournemouth Pride, where he sang a number of cover songs, including Prince's Purple Rain and Robbie Williams' Rock DJ.
Sam has also worked as a personal trainer and a racing car driver, including behind the wheel of a sporty Porsche, on the GT4 Supercup series.
As if that all wasn't enough, Sam regularly stars in Christmas pantomimes.

The singer still has a legion of fans thanks to his X Factor fame, as proven by the fact he's able to knock out calendars of himself topless year after year.
Sam was mentored by Louis Walsh on X Factor, but he didn't quite make it to the final on X Factor with a performance of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls seeing him bow out of the contest.
Last year, Sam popped the question to girlfriend, Charlie, a veterinary nurse and the pair will soon tie the knot.

‘Food brings people together': Belfast festival showcases cuisine and culture from around the world
Part of Féile an Phobail, the annual gathering gives people a chance to experience other cultures. Baklava from Greece, scones from NI and falafel from Palestine were some of the many dishes on display at the international food fair at Conway Mill. Sam, from north Africa, has attended the event for the past four years and said it is 'getting better every year'. The business owner, who has lived in NI for more than 30 years, praised the 'supportive' local community and said the recent uptick in violence against ethnic minorities does not represent the region. 'Ninety-nine-point-nine per cent of people in NI and the Republic are the nicest people — decent people,' he told the Belfast Telegraph. 'You get that in every society, a small minority — they ruin it for everyone.' Sam said it was 'very important' for those arriving in NI to 'get involved' and be a part of the community. He explained: 'I have a lot of friends all over the island: Derry; Limavady; Ballymena; Belfast. We're all from planet earth. We're all the same. 'The culture in Northern Ireland is absolutely amazing. Like they say, 'good craic'.' 'Food brings people together. We'd like to see more events like that in the future.' Jessy Lovely, who is Northern Irish-Dominican, was among the staff working at the event. The 31-year-old said that intercultural events are 'what is life is about. It's about relationships and getting to know people.' She added: 'Especially these days, there's a lot of division in the world, and I think this kind of thing is the only thing that can keep you going. And it's kind of comforting, having community.' 'Especially post-Covid and with social media and everything, people don't really get together like this any more 'If we don't have these kinds of things, it kind of goes against our human nature, I think, because that's what life is about. It's about relationships and getting to know people. It can get pretty dark if we don't.' She added: 'You only have to meet one person from a community that you don't know to like fix all of that — all your prejudices. Just one person.' Glenn Phillips, meanwhile, was operating a stall for his charity Homeplus NI, which provides aid for vulnerable people, asylum seekers and the homeless. He attended the fair last year, which came days after anti-immigration riots swept the city, and recalled how the festival put many 'at ease'. 'I think there should be more events like this. I certainly would have a lot of praise for Féile organising this,' he said. 'And I wish there were events like this in other parts of the city where ethnic minorities and asylum-seeking refugees could come along and meet local people and meet each other and be safe.' Enjoying the festivities was Enrique Franco, from Brazil, who has lived in Northern Ireland for over a decade. The musician plays music on behalf of the intercultural arts collective Beyond Skin and said 'it's very important to get everybody together'. Enrique believes that events like the international food festival help foster connections between people who don't normally meet. He explained: 'The problem with racism is that most of the time people are ignorant and scared of the unknown, knowing different cultures. So events like this helps [show] that it's not scary. 'The moment you start knowing somebody, knowing your neighbour, knowing his name, it's less scary. It's not just a guy down the road with a different hat, with a different flag. 'It's less scary. You get to know each other, shake people's hands, [look at] each other in the eye.' The event also acted as a meeting point for old friends, with Wilma Young reuniting with old pals over the diverse foods on offer. It was the Co Antrim native's first time at the fair and she enjoyed the 'lovely atmosphere'. She said: '[It's] terrific for community interaction, and that's what we need here more than anything else. And no better place. 'The Féile all this week has been fantastic, having it here in Belfast. Personally, I wouldn't be on the Falls Road area very much, but I love coming here, it's really good.' 'Getting together over food is one of the most valuable things I think you can [do] psychologically. It's all very positive.'

Gregg Wallace gushes over ‘beautiful' wife on romantic anniversary picnic as MasterChef makes controversial return
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) GREGG Wallace called himself a "very lucky man" as he celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary today with "beautiful" wife Anna. The axed MasterChef star, 60, returned to Hever Castle, Kent, with Anne-Marie, 38, for a romantic picnic on the same day the latest series of the BBC cooking show controversially returned to screens featuring both of its fired hosts. As part of the investigation Wallace's co-star John Torode was alleged to have used a racist term, though he maintains he did not. Today, Wallace, who is now marketing himself as a personal trainer, was all smiles as he filmed himself and Anna by the side of a lake. He said: "Hello, it's our wedding anniversary. How many years, Anna?" She replied: "Nine." The couple then giggled as they struggled to recall if they'd been together for 12 or 13 years. Wallace continued: "The theme is willow, so we've got a picnic basket and we're at Hever Castle because it's here we got married. "Look at this scene for a picnic. Beautiful setting, beautiful wife. I'm a very lucky man." One follower commented: "Happy faces for a happy anniversary - I bet it was a lovely picnic too." Another said: "Lovely location for a wedding anniversary picnic." Shamed Gregg Wallace says 'I'm no groper, sex pest or flasher,' as tearful star refuses to accept blame for BBC sacking A third posted: "Lovely location for a wedding anniversary picnic." Those who tuned into MasterChef today on BBC iPlayer noticed the show had been edited to minimise the amount of banter between hosts Torode and Wallace. As the six amateur cooks made their first dishes for the pair, viewers noted how their usual breezy interactions were virtually non-existent. Prior to the show airing, contestant Sarah Shafi, from Leeds, revealed how she was allegedly offered the opportunity to be edited out of the series after claiming it shouldn't be broadcast. Ms Shafi, 57, told the Guardian: 'I didn't say edit me out. 'I said: 'Axe the show, don't air the show. I'm asking you not to air the show.' Prominent figures have been abusing their power. "What message does that send out to women?" MasterChef facts MASTERCHEF has been a staple BBC series for years - but what are the key details? MasterChef launched on BBC One back in 1990 It ran until 2001, then was revived in 2005 as MasterChef Goes Large John Torode joined the revamped series in 2005, where he teamed up with Gregg Wallace as hosts Controversial moments? In March 2018, Gregg refused to judge Zaleha Kadir Olpin's stewed chicken rendang dish as he claimed it was 'not crispy enough and could not be eaten.' Ms Sharif alleged there was an "enabling environment" and a pattern of "institutions not being accountable". She also claimed there was a "heated conversation" when she tried to voice her opinions with a producer. Once the corporation confirmed the season was going ahead, Ms Sharif agreed to be edited out. The Sun contacted a representative for MasterChef for comment. 4 MasterChef returned today with Gregg Wallace and John Torode 4 Six new amateur chefs entered the MasterChef kitchen on tonight's episode Credit: BBC THE AXE FALLS Wallace was the first of the two hosts to be sacked back on July 10, with the BBC citing that they doubted his ability to change 'learned behaviour' as a reason for his axing. The report concluded that Gregg, who was diagnosed as autistic midway through the investigation, "struggled to distinguish the boundaries between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.' The findings also referenced reputational damage to the Corporation in light of comments Wallace has made about it since he was taken off air. Wallace has hosted MasterChef alongside Torode since 2005 and has also fronted other BBC programmes including Inside the Factory and Supermarket Secrets. In late 2024, it was reported that the BBC had been made aware of complaints dating back to 2017, while it was claimed that a letter had been sent to the broadcaster in 2022 stating that women had been made to feel 'uncomfortable' in his presence. However, he has been cleared of the most serious allegations, including those made by high profile names including Kirsty Wark and Penny Lancaster. GREGG BACKS CO-STAR In an explosive sit down interview with The Sun, Wallace said that he was not a 'groper, a sex pest or a flasher'. He also backed Torode, insisting: 'He is not a racist.'
