Tragic discovery: Toddler's body found discarded next to bin
The grim discovery was made in a car park in Panorama City, Los Angeles on July 12 after police officers responded to a call about the child at 7am, People reported.
The boy is unidentified, but is believed to have been about three or four years old. It is unclear what condition the body was found in.
First responders were called to the scene at the 8200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, and attempted resuscitation, but were unable to revive the child who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meghan Aguilar, a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department, said the finding is 'horrific'.
'It impacts every single one of us that comes to these scenes, everyone at home who hears about these scenes,' she said.
'We've got mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, anyone — you don't have to be one of those to know how horrific this is. I don't know the cause of death of this individual, again, that will be up to the coroner to determine. But no one deserves to be handled in this manner.'
Detective Aguilar said that to be left out to be discovered by a stranger is 'absolutely horrible'.

Corey Watkins, a local resident, told Californian television station KTLA5 that the tragedy 'weighs on the heart' because young children are 'so innocent'.
He said children 'don't necessarily know what's going on, and they're looking to adults for protection'.
LAPD are looking for surveillance footage from nearby cameras to further the ongoing investigation and the child's cause of death is currently being determined by the coroner.

"We didn't have any contact with anyone [who might have been at the residence]. But we were never inside either. We wouldn't know definitively, but we have no reason to believe that there was anyone there. "The complainant did mention that there was a court order in place. As a standard procedure in these types of cases, our deputy did search for any types of orders that would bar or prohibit the complainant from being at the residence, and they were unable to locate any existing orders." Scott and Kelley recently reached a temporary agreement which set out provisions around custody, visitation, finances, and communication, with the Party of Five actor's temporary restraining order against his estranged wife also dismissed. According to the agreement, neither party is permitted to discuss adult issues, the divorce, or the kids' relationship with their other parent in front of or with the children, and Scott and Kelley are also barred from making disparaging remarks, either verbally or in writing, and cannot interrogate their brood about what happens when they are with their other parent. The agreement also includes a social media stipulation, which means neither may post about one another, their marriage, children or the divorce, nor allow any third party to do so.

Anne Burrell's cause of death ‘ruled as suicide'
Food Network star Anne Burrell reportedly died by suicide. Five weeks after the celebrity chef was found unresponsive in her home aged 55, the TV star, best known for hosting Worst Cooks in America, is said to have died from 'acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine,' according to an official autopsy from the New York City medical examiner's office, which was cited by People on Thursday. (24.07.25) Diphenhydramine and cetirizine are antihistamines, ethanol is alcohol and amphetamine is a stimulant commonly prescribed for attention deficit disorders. People reported: 'Burrell died by suicide,' adding her family had 'declined' to comment on the finding. Emergency responders were called to the Manhattan apartment Anne shared with her husband, 63-year-old Stuart Claxton, in the early hours of Thursday morning. NYPD documents seen by The New York Times said she was found unconscious in the shower, surrounded by around 100 assorted pills, and pronounced dead at the scene. Stuart told authorities he had last seen Anne alive around 1am. He discovered her body between six and seven hours later. Emergency medical personnel attempted CPR but were unable to revive her. The medical examiner completed an autopsy in June, but toxicology results delayed a formal cause of death until this week. Anne had recently taken a break from television and was exploring new creative interests. Hours before her death, she had performed an improv comedy show at a club in Brooklyn. Earlier this year, she told 52-year-old actress Tori Spelling on a podcast she had enrolled in acting classes. 'I just started taking acting classes. Man whose car hit US crowd was shot, attacked: police
A vehicle rammed into a crowd of people waiting to enter a nightclub along a busy boulevard in Los Angeles, injuring 30 people and leading bystanders to attack the driver, authorities say. The driver was later found to have been shot, according to Los Angeles police, who were searching for a suspected gunman who fled the scene. It was not immediately clear if the driver had been shot before or after the crash or why he drove into the crowd, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said. Twenty-three victims were transported to local hospitals and trauma centers, according to police. At least three were in critical condition after being injured along Santa Monica Boulevard in East Hollywood, the Los Angeles City Fire Department said in a statement. Fire Captain Adam VanGerpen said that a line of people - the majority female - were waiting to enter a nightclub when they were struck by a Nissan Versa that also hit a taco truck and valet stand. 'They were all standing in line going into a nightclub. There was a taco cart out there, so they were ... getting some food, waiting to go in. And there's also a valet line there,' said VanGerpen, a public information officer. 'The valet podium was taken out, the taco truck was taken out, and then a large number of people were impacted by the vehicle.' People inside the club came out to help in the minutes before emergency crews arrived, he said, to help the victims. The driver, whose gunshot wound was found by paramedics, was taken to a local hospital. Police did not identify him or disclose his condition. The shooter was described as a man in a blue jersey with a silver revolver. 'This is under police investigation,' VanGerpen said. 'This will be a large investigation with the LAPD.' The club, Vermont Hollywood, was hosting a reggae/hip hop event from 10pm to 2am, according to its online calendar. A fight had broken out outside of the club prior to the incident, according to Maria Medrano, who was working a food cart outside. Shortly after, Medrano said, the car hit a group of people standing outside. She said she and her husband, who were both selling hot dogs outside, narrowly escaped after the car struck their stand, crushing it. 'The car stopped once it hit the hot dog stand, it got stuck there,' Medrano told the Associated Press from the hospital. 'If not, I wouldn't be here to tell (the story).' Medrano said she heard what appeared to be gunshots after the crash. 'Everyone started running,' she said.
