Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7's greatest strength came from Exynos

Phone Arena16-07-2025
This year, Samsung used its in-house Exynos 2500 chipset in the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable phone. Using Exynos, and not a Snapdragon alternative, is primarily the reason why the company was able to price the Flip 7 the same as its predecessor: the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 saw a considerable price bump over the Fold 6, due in part to the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor inside. Not only did Samsung avoid ( translated source ) that with the Flip 7 , but it also introduced a new budget foldable line this year with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
The Exynos 2500 is the same 3 nm chip that Samsung had initially planned to debut across the Galaxy S25 phones. Unfortunately for Samsung, yield issues prevented that from happening in time, and the company had to rely on the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead.
Now, Samsung is trying its best to make sure that the 2 nm Exynos 2600 is perfected in time for the launch of the Galaxy S26 phones next year. If that happens, then the company may have a similar price-related surprise in store. Especially considering that Qualcomm has reportedly decided to increase the costs of its chipsets.
The entire Samsung Galaxy S25 series uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite. | Video credit — Samsung Of course, it's no secret that many Samsung users prefer Snapdragon processors over Exynos. Historically, Samsung's processors have lagged behind Qualcomm's chips, both in performance and efficiency. If Exynos doesn't catch up soon, then the pricing upsides will come with the downside of somewhat reduced performance.I've been a proponent of the Exynos chips for quite a while now. Samsung may one day make the same kind of leap that Apple did when it introduced the M-series chips to the Mac and MacBook. For now, however, it's a bit of a compromise.
The latest reports indicate that Samsung is still trying to improve the yields of the Exynos 2600. I really do hope that the chips can be ready in time, because otherwise we're very likely to see a price increase for the Galaxy S26 phones. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!

Realme 15 Pro hands-on review

The Realme 15 Pro is the newest flagship in the company's numbered series. The 1-inch main camera sensor is much bigger than the 1/1.3-inch sensor on the Galaxy, and Huawei still uses its own RYYB sensor with that special color filter that promises incredible dynamic range of 16 stops. But the real star of the show is the world's first switchable dual telephoto camera. You get 3.7x lens and a 10x lens both based on one big 1/1.28-inch sensor. This is the biggest sensor used on a telephoto lens so far! Huawei has achieves this with some incredibly clever engineering: you have a built-in light-blocking mechanism driven by a tiny motor. You can even hear the motor switching between lenses (Huawei says it is very reliable, having passed 180,000 tests). But let's see what that actually means for your pictures: Main Camera Portrait Mode Ultra-wide Camera Zoom Selfie So, does the new Huawei Pura 80 Ultra live up to the expectations? Redmi Note 14 SE 5G is coming, main specs already officially revealed

Vlad, 24 July 2025 While we wait for the Redmi Note 15 series, the Xiaomi sub-brand has a surprise almost ready to go: the Redmi Note 14 SE 5G. This model will be launching in India on July 28, as a new Flipkart microsite reveals. It's billed to arrive with "killer specs" and a "killer price". Spec-wise, the microsite has confirmed a screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, 2,100-nit peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top, as well as an embedded fingerprint sensor. The device's dual stereo speakers promise 300% louder volume (not sure compared to what, though) and Dolby Atmos support. The handset's main camera will have 50 MP resolution and is using Sony's Lytia LYT-600 sensor with OIS for "superior low-light captures". The Redmi Note 14 SE 5G is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7025 Ultra SoC, and it has a 5,110 mAh battery. Now, if you're confused by all of these specs (no others have been officially revealed yet), you're not alone - everything here perfectly matches what the non-SE Redmi Note 14 already offers in India, and that device launched way back in December. Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 So perhaps it's the new colorway that's worthy of a different name? The louder speakers too? The mystery will be solved in just a few days, so stay tuned. Thanks for the tip!
