In recent years, the MCU has been delivering a constant batch of disappointing, half-baked works. Unfortunately, Ironheart is the newest project in that group. Although it has a few interesting ideas and a good cast, with Dominique Thorne as the titular hero, the show is rarely entertaining.
Riri Williams returns to Chicago, her hometown, to rebuild her suit and a super AI as we kick off the end of Phase 5. However, she's got no money for it. As a result, RiRi is swept up in a life of crime, working with The Hood and his gang of criminals.
Ironheart's biggest problem is the number of elements it needs to handle and its inability to accomplish that in the course of six episodes. Talking about The Hood's plot alone, there are already many factors to coordinate. The villain's backstory, his crew, Riri's life of crime weighing on her, the use of magic, and the heists, to name but a few.
However, there are even more working pieces, such as Riri's own tragic backstory, her AI, a blooming romance, and another important antagonist, Ezekiel Stane.
Because of that, there's not enough time to develop anything well. Consequently, viewers can't latch onto any idea.
When Riri joins The Hood, for example, there's no weight to her decision to team up with criminals. The show only brings that up once a mission goes wrong, then her doubts about being a bad person become relevant. But, as it had no gravity before, it's hard to feel captivated by her dilemma.
This is before mentioning how lazy decisions and conveniences often happen for a quick resolution. Ezekiel starts as a friend of Riri's, but he soon begins to hate her. In their first fight, he spews out his revengeful supervillain speech and seems overjoyed in destroying the girl's armour. But when he gets the chance to kill her seconds later, he goes back on what he said and immediately gives up.
But the villain who suffers the most is Parker Robbins, The Hood. Anthony Ramos is a good actor, but he isn't menacing at all. For the majority of Ironheart, he and his crew give off the vibe of lackeys more than of dangerous criminals. His cloak only makes him seem goofier and it's hard to overstate how much of a terrible costume design it is.
The series attempts to explore his backstory, but it never goes deep enough so it feels like the result of another lazy decision. Ultimately, The Hood joins the (massive) list of half-baked and forgettable MCU villains.
Sadly, the protagonist suffers the same fate. She has many flaws, which could help her be more relatable. But we don't watch her grow or even try to overcome these flaws, so viewers can't sympathize with her struggles.
The dramatic scenes are great, mostly thanks to the cast, but they are far and few between. The same goes for the action. It's always fluid and creative, being very fun to watch. Yet, with so many aspects to handle, two of them working well doesn't save the show.
Episode 6 has an incredible fight between Riri and The Hood, in which we finally see her mixing magic with technology. It's visually creative, presents high stakes for both her and Parker, and has a smart twist that leads to her victory.
The last episode also delivers a few good dialogues and drama, making it the best of the bunch. However, watching it is weird. Everything is tied to plot threads that can be developed in a future season or movie that seems unlikely to happen. Regardless of how good these moments are, it's too late to change the story, and they probably won't lead to anything.
Ironheart proves that Dominique Thorne is a good choice for the character, but that she also deserves a better project. Even if not in a future season, it'd be nice seeing her act as Riri Williams once again with a script that can develop her character more.

How rice could be the secret to perfect, full and fast growing hair & you don't have to eat it to make it work

THE secret to perfect, fast growing hair is in your kitchen cupboard, one woman has revealed. Taty is constantly bombarded with questions about how she got her locks so "perfect", shiny and long. 4 4 And in a video on her TikTok page, she opened up about the top tip she's used to transform her hair. "Everyone's always like, 'Taty, how is your hair so long and beautiful, Taty, how is your hair so perfect, how did you grow your hair so fast?'" she began. "Okay, I'm gonna tell you because I don't want to gatekeep anymore." She then revealed that the secret she swears by is homemade rice water. Taty showed how she got a container and some rice from the kitchen cupboard - insisting it doesn't matter what kind of rice you use. She covered the rice in water, before letting it soak for a day. And once she'd drained the water off, she transferred it to a spray bottle. Taty then went on to explain she uses the spray liberally on her locks before washing them, noting that it "smells really, really bad". "Spray it all over your roots and your ends and then put it up, leave it soaking wet, for like 30 minutes or an hour before you wash your hair," she explained. She added that consistently using the rice water will make your hair "grow so fast". My hair's so thin you can see my scalp but miracle £8 buy fixes it in seconds "I better see all your hair grow 40 inches!" she jokingly wrote in the video caption. "I'm gonna try this and hope you're telling the truth and hope it works because I hate my hair," one person wrote in the comments. "I've been trying to grow my hair out for ages because it wouldn't grow. "I tried rosemary oil but it made my hair so greasy so I don't know what to do anymore." "You can also put a few drops of essential oils or something for the smell if you don't wanna wash your hair after every time," another suggested. "During covid I put rice water in my hair every day and my hair was LONGGGGGGG, this def works," a third insisted. Hair re-growth FAQs Anabel Kingsley, Consultant Trichologist and Brand President at Philip Kingsley spoke exclusively to Fabulous. How long does it take for hair to grow back? Hair grows, on average, half an inch a month. You cannot speed this up. Do rosemary oil and scalp massages work? Oils do not promote hair growth. In terms of rosemary oil, the current trend stems from one small study carried out on 50 men in 2015. No women were involved, and the study compared the effects of 2 per cent minoxidil to Rosemary oil. 2 per cent minoxidil doesn't do much for male pattern hair loss anyway, so the results were not very impressive. Oils do serve a purpose in conditioning hair treatments though. They help add shine and smooth the hair cuticle to lock-in moisture and improve combability. Scalp massages alone won't cure hair loss, but it can help relax you, aid in lymphatic drainage, exfoliate and help topicals penetrate. Are there any products or foods/vitamins you recommend someone using or eating to help with hair regrowth? To support healthy hair regrowth, if you are experiencing hair thinning we'd recommend our Density Preserving Scalp Drops clinically proven to help slow hair loss with continued daily use within three months. Telogen effluvium (hair shedding) due to nutritional deficiencies can often be simply treated with changes to your diet, and nutritional supplements such as our specially formulated Density Healthy Hair Complex and Density Amino Acid Booster. Iron and Ferritin (stored iron) in red meat, dried apricots and dark, leafy greens. Vitamin B12 in animal products and fortified plant-based foods. Protein from oily fish, lean meat, cottage cheese, tofu, nuts, chickpeas, and beans. However, there may be an underlying cause for their hair loss and rather than this being masked by using an off-the-shelf product, they should be encouraged to seek the advice of a specialist such as a Trichologist. "You just have to be dedicated!" "Wash the rice first and put it in the fridge so it doesn't grow mould," someone else wrote. "You're young, that's what it is," another sighed. "We all had long hair like this when we were young not in our 60s. "It's harder to keep our hair healthy for what happens to our hormones." 4

Who was Sophia Hutchins? Tragic star's transgender journey, unorthodox relationship with Caitlyn Jenner and support for Trump

Caitlyn Jenner 's close friend and manager Sophia Hutchins passed away on Wednesday at the age of 29 following a tragic ATV accident in Malibu. Both law enforcement and family sources stated she was pronounced dead at the scene after the ATV hit the bumper of another moving vehicle - causing it to 'plummet 350 feet down into a ravine' near the reality star's home. It is not known if Jenner was at home at the time of the accident or witnessed the crash. Hutchins had notably developed a longtime friendship with Caitlyn years earlier - and also underwent her own transgender journey while a student at Pepperdine University. The pair first crossed paths a decade ago in 2015, and Sophia has often credited the ex of Kris Jenner as an inspiration to complete her transition. Similar to Caitlyn, Hutchins had been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and MAGA - and met the U.S. president last year. takes a look at Sophia's transgender journey, relationship with Jenner and support of Trump following her heartbreaking death. Transgender Journey Sophia was formerly Scott Hutchins and began her transition while attending college - but previously revealed that she had identified as female at a young age. As a student at Pepperdine, she began to undergo certain medical procedures as well as hormone treatments and hair removal. The businesswoman had seen a therapist - who helped aid in the decision to transition but seeing Jenner's 20/20 interview where the star announced her own transition put everything into full swing. During an interview with her school newspaper in 2016, Hutchins reflected, 'I've always had the question of "Do I want to transition from male to female?" 'I never thought a lot about doing it until I got into college because I was able to break away from my family and started to establish my own identity.' She had also given credit to her time at school 'to deal with a lot of issues that had always been there.' And after watching Caitlyn's interview, Sophia explained that it, 'made it so much more real for [her], like normal and successful people do this and people are okay when they do it.' Hutchins ended up taking some time off of school in order to complete her gender transition. When she was at the age of 15, Hutchins remembered telling a friend that she was female for the first time. 'It's almost like it just came out. I didn't even mean to let it out since I had been so used to holding it in and brushing it under the rug.' In 2019 during an appearance on Jim Breslo's Hidden Truth Show, Sophia also got candid about her gender identity. The media personality remembered making comments about her gender dysmorphia to her parents as young as age five. After her transition, Hutchins stated, 'I truly feel my spirit, my soul, my mind is exactly the same, I am just so much more comfortable physically. 'Before I transitioned I felt like "Yeah, I'm definitely just a girl, but I'm in the wrong body." And I felt trapped in that body.' She added, 'And I needed to have the hormones to change the body, for me, the surgeries to change the body. 'But for me, that's what I wanted to do, and that's what made me ultimately so at peace.' While at Pepperdine, Hutchins was the chair of the LGBTQ+ committee in SGA and a member of the school's first LGBTQ+ club Crossroads. She had also been the former CEO of the nonprofit organization called the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation. It helps 'promote equality and combats discrimination by providing grans to organizations that empower and improv the lives of transgender people, including youth, ant-bullying, suicide prevention, healthcare, housing, employment, and related programs,' per the official website. Caitlyn Jenner relationship Sophia first met Caitlyn in 2015 and two years later, moved into Jenner's $3.5 million Malibu mansion and began working as the star's manager. She took over the role from Caitlyn's ex-wife Kris Jenner, 69, after their 2015 divorce. Hutchins often appeared on Jenner's E! reality series I Am Cait, which was a spin-off of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that followed the star's shock transition. The series ran for just two seasons but it gave glimpses into Jenner and Hutchins' unorthodox life together. Despite living under one roof, Hutchins previously told The New York Times that she and Jenner 'were never romantically involved' with each other - a sentiment that pair have repeated over the years. 'I don't feel a need to address my sex life, quite frankly, unless I want to,' she sternly told the outlet at the time. During an interview with People in 2021, Sophia discussed being able to collaborate with Jenner and said, 'I feel blessed that we are able to work together.' As for her own business ventures, Hutchins served as CEO of the now-defunct spray sunscreen brand LUMASOL, which launched in 2020 and was promoted by Jenner's stepdaughter Kim Kardashian. While it's unclear when she met Jenner, Hutchins began appearing by her side in 2015 shortly after she went public with her shock transition. They reportedly were introduced by their hairdresser, and they developed a strong friendship. The pair have spent holidays together and also appeared at red carpet events. But because of their tight bond, the duo faced intense dating speculation during their over a decade of friendship. Back in 2018, Hutchins fueled the flames by previously described Jenner as her 'partner' and even admitted that they were 'inseparable'. 'I wouldn't describe it as romantic. I would describe it as we're partners, business partners – I'm the executive director of her foundation,' Hutchins dished on an episode of The Hidden Truth Show podcast. However, both Jenner and Hutchins have made a conscious effort to publicly shut down the romance rumors. In 2021, Hutchins told People that she was not and had never been interested in starting a romantic relationship with her longtime friend. 'I don't want controversy. I am just trying to live my life. Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship,' she said. 'There's no hanky panky,' she insisted. 'I feel like I've been saying that for the past five years.' Jenner, who was married three times when she was known as Bruce Jenner before transitioning, described herself as 'very single' while attending the White House Correspondent Dinner with Hutchins last year. Hutchins previously addressed allegations that she was 'mooching off' Caitlyn during a 2019 appearance on Good Morning Britain. 'Everyone thinks I'm mooching off Caitlyn but I do have my own job and my own career that I have to focus on,' she told viewers during the sit-down. In the same interview, Hutchins praised Jenner as being 'one of the most selfless people you will ever meet.' Vocal Trump supporter Sophia has also publicly voiced her support for Donald Trump over the years - and has often posed with a MAGA hat on social media. Late last year in November, she shared photos from what appeared to be Trump's Mar-a-Lago in Florida on election night. At the time, she penned: 'Election Night w/ 500 of my closest friends! A true love fest! Don't think anyone slept for 48 hours!' Hutchins could be seen posing with a few friends at a table inside a crowded room - and Jenner was spotted sitting nearby. Last year, Hutchins had the opportunity to meet the billionaire. She uploaded a photo of herself beaming beside Trump in front of an American flag with the caption: 'The energy, passion, and commitment for our movement to Save America has never been greater! We will never give up.' In January of this year, Hutchins uploaded a photo of herself and Jenner celebrating Trump's inauguration with Judge Jeanine Pirro and other MAGA superstars to Instagram. Sophia also made appearances in segments for Fox News - which she shared to her Instagram page. Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, Hutchins could be seen interviewing on the network under the title of 'Trump 2024 Campaign Surrogate.' She also was open with her social media followers about casting her vote for Trump during last year's U.S. presidential election. Sophia had uploaded other snippets from election night, and wrote: 'It's been a wild ride. From the convention & inauguration in 2016, to 2020, to the most insane campaign in US history in 2024, I love this family as if they were my own. 'I will keep fighting for America in any way I am told - we've made it this far and I don't plan on stopping, only speeding up.'
