Inside Celebrity SAS star Adam Collard's 'dream' relationship with partner

Metro3 days ago
Adam Collard is back on the small screen tonight with a new season of Celebrity SAS, but the prolific reality TV star also enjoys a high-profile romance.
The Love Island star, 29, made a name for himself on various dating shows until he met 38-year-old football presenter Laura Woods, best known as the face of ITV's Euros coverage over the past two years.
Laura shone when she presented coverage of the 2023 Women's World Cup for the channel.
Not only that, but she is also a TNT Sports and Amazon Prime Video presenter after spending several years as a boxing pitch-side reporter with Gary Neville on Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, as well as stints on Love Island and Celebs Go Dating, Adam is also a fitness guru and founder of Sculpt Fitness.
But what has he said about his long-term relationship with partner Laura Woods?
Fitness coach and former Islander (in 2018 and 2022) Adam, 28, has been dating Laura since 2023.
They confirmed their romance by making things Instagram official in October 2023.
It was Celebs Go Dating star Adam who revealed he actually slid into Laura's DMs first but left her on read after she replied.
However, sparks started to fly once they met in person and things got pretty serious rather quickly, with Adam declaring her 'the one' as their relationship became public knowledge.
The couple frequently share loved-up photos together, with Adam sharing a sweet photo dump in May dedicated to his girlfriend, which he dubbed 'a little bit of everything'.
It included photos of them on holiday together, training together and with the dog, with plenty of cuddles in between.
In July 2024, the pair shared the happy news that they were expecting their first baby together. Just weeks later, in September, they took their relationship to the next step by getting engaged.
At the start of this year, Adam and Laura celebrated the birth of their baby boy, Leo Ernie Collard, as friends and family flooded their social media with warm wishes.
In an interview with the Mirror, Adam said about his fiancée: 'She's amazing and we are having a lot of fun. It feels like I'm living the dream.
'I would never get in a relationship with someone at least at one point [unless] I thought they were The One.'
And when asked about the age gap by OK! Magazine, added: 'Perhaps that's what I've always been seeking: an older woman.
'It's something that works for me. But Laura isn't really an 'older woman'. If you meet her and spend time with her… I've dated younger people who don't act as maturely as she does! Age never factored into our relationship, it's been smooth sailing from the start.'
Elsewhere in the same chat, he spoke about his dreams to be his children's 'best friend' like he was with his father and plans to have no more than two kids otherwise he 'might stuggle'.
The pair have also faced hardships in their relationship, as Adam opens up about on the Celebrity SAS.
He explained that Laura had been 11 weeks pregnant when she experienced a miscarriage (she felt pregnant with their son Leo a month later).
Reflecting on the impact of miscarriage, he said: 'I know it's a terrible way to look at it, but I felt like it was bad karma for me being on dating shows and upsetting too many people.
'I felt like that was some high power's way of being like, 'Well, there you go, that's what you have to carry',' he said, per the Mail Online.
He added that he was a 'love rat jumping from girl to girl. I want to show I'm not that man any more.'
Prior to Adam being her boyfriend, Laura had a long-term relationship with a professional athlete.
She dated former England rugby player Alex Corbisiero for eight years.
Meanwhile, Adam's exes include Zara McDermott, who he was coupled up with during his first stint on Love Island in 2018, before moving onto an on-off relationship with Sarah Godfrey.
His second appearance on Love Island in 2022 saw Adam pair off with paramedic Paige Thorne, with the relationship continuing for a few months outside of the villa, while he also had a fling with model Lottie Moss, Kate Moss's younger sister, after they appeared together on Celebs Go Dating.
In May 2024, Laura sustained gruesome injuries from a freak pillow accident forced her 'off the tele' and to miss anchoring Tyson Fury's fight with Oleksandr Usyk for TNT Sports.
The popular presenter required emergency surgery after a glass lampshade shattered above her and the glass cut her face and arms, narrowly missing her eyes.
She explained at the time that the incident happened as she swung a pillow at a holiday cottage.
In her post revealing her injuries she praised Adam 'for being my hero that day' as he acted 'so quickly' and didn't leave her side.
Laura also praised the doctors who treated her as she continued: 'I've added in the photos from then to now to show that even though it may look rough, it's such a wonderful improvement already and I'm so grateful. More Trending
'It was a hell of a shock and I've been a bit sad, but I'm feeling very lucky it wasn't worse. So a big thanks to my eyebrow too, for taking the brunt of it.'
Adam later angrily hit back at trolls who alleged he had hit his girlfriend, telling one commenter to 'shut up' and 'read her Instagram post'.
Airing across eight one-hour episodes, the seventh series of Celebrity SAS can be streamed or watched live every Sunday and Monday on Channel 4, starting on August 3.

Celebs SAS stars 'to get full fee despite quitting Channel 4 show early'

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins stars will reportedly still get their full fee even if they quit, and three of the contestants are said to have raked in thousands for just minutes on screen Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins stars will reportedly still get their full fee even if they quit the show early. The Channel 4 military-style reality series returned to screens last week with the likes of X Factor legend Lucy Spraggan, footballer Troy Deeney and former drugs mule Michaella McCollum amongst a host of others being put through their paces by the show's tough directors. ‌ However, viewers watched as pop star Hannah Spearritt quit the show just minutes into the first episode, and dancer Louie Spencer later realised he could not hack it either so decided to remove his armband and walk off. In episode two, Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows quit on the spot as well. Insiders have claimed that some of the stars are being paid up to £20,000 as an appearance fee and insisted that they will still receive payment in full, no matter what stage of the competition they actually reach. ‌ A source told The Sun: "Hannah Spearitt, Chloe Burrows and Tasha Ghouri will all have been paid over £10k - some as much as £20k - but unlike other reality shows, they do get paid if they pull out. So even though Hannah only lasted one minute, she'll still get paid over £10k for that minute." It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. ‌ The source added that even though it can be 'embarrassing' for celebrities to quit so early, it is "well worth stars signing up even if they don't think they can complete the show just for the payday - it might be embarrassing taking their armband off early in the show, but it's good money!' Hannah who shot to fame as part of S Club 7 before going on to an acting career with roles in shows such as Primeval and EastEnders, was seen struggling. She was sitting on the way to a mission when she told her fellow recruits that she was 'feeling faint'. And just moments later, it was confirmed that the Reach singer had become the first to leave the course as her co-stars speculated that she had suffered a panic attack. ‌ However, in a confessional aired seconds beforehand, Hannah, who last year refused to join her bandmates for their reunion tour, had seemed confident in herself as she said: "I am pretty determined. I wouldn't say I give up easily but whether I get to the end or not...I don't think I'll go on the first day because I just wouldn't forgive myself." She went onto tell instructors: "Sorry - I'm done. Sorry. I've reached a point." And she wasn't the only star to fall at the first hurdle, as Pineapple Dance Studios star Louie also dramatically left the show as the tough scenes unfolded. He initially told the cameras as part of his own confessional segment: "If there was a world war and they decided they were gonna call everyone up, would I be the first to jump up and say 'Yes me?' Being surrounded my thousands of soldiers, I might just jump at it. I'd be the home guard like on Dad's Army. We'll have a gay Dad's Army. Honestly, they wouldn't wanna mess with the gays!" But, despite his confidence, just moments later, Chris Fox described the group's effort as "abysmal" after the latest task. He reminded the recruits to think about why they were there and suggested they take things "seriously". ‌ Louie piped up: "I wanna do an immediate withdrawal. I just don't have the conviction and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough," he said as he removed his armband. Chris gave him the chance to put his arm band back on, but Louie refused, so Chris said: "Get your kit." In a previously-filmed confessional, Louie, 56, had said: "I'm a survivor, I would keep battling to survive. I think the worst way for me to leave the course would be to choose to leave. That would really p*** me off," but just seconds later, it was confirmed that he had indeed quit the show." And following their exits, Chloe took to Instagram to rant about why she had quit as she said: ""I was f*****g exhausted and wanted my own bed and a cuddle from my mum. Forgive a girl for being so naive, but jumping at opportunities I'd never thought possible," whilst Tasha is yet to address her exit.

BBC Strictly Come Dancing star admits 'it's terrifying' as she marks career first

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Former Strictly Come Dancing star Annabel Croft admitted, "It's terrifying", as she marked a career first. The former tennis player competed on the 21st series of Strictly with her professional partner Johannes Radebe. The fan-favourite pair made it to the semi-final, finishing in fourth place behind winning couple Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola. Now, Annabel is hitting the road for a 28-date tour across England, Scotland and Wales. Her debut tour, which is titled From Tennis Balls to Glitter Balls, begins next month, and will take audiences behind the scenes of the world's greatest tennis tournaments, as well as exploring Annabel's time on Strictly. (Image: BBC) Annabel appeared on The One Show on Wednesday (August 6), where she spoke to hosts Alex Jones and Vernon Kay about her new career venture. "I've been asked to do a speaking tour around the country from middle to late September till November, and it's new territory for me because I've never done anything like that before," she explained. "I have done speeches and things, but it's a chance for me to talk about what does it take to go from being a little girl as I was at nine, picking up a racket for the first time. "What does it take, sort of the apprenticeship of going on that journey to then make it to Wimbledon, and then retiring at 21 and moving into broadcasting, interviewing all these wonderful great champions. "And how did that lead me to Strictly Come Dancing. So, it's kind of a tour to look back and reflect on my life." (Image: BBC) The 59-year-old went on to share her pride at embracing public speaking after previously struggling with her confidence, which she described as "terrifying". "When I look back at speaking, it was actually something I was very fearful of when I was younger. I used to almost hyperventilate and have a complete panic attack about speaking publicly," she candidly said. "It's funny for me now thinking, 'Well, I'm going to do a speaking tour'. And it's like, 'How on earth have I come such a big circle?' To be able to have the confidence." Ahead of this year's series, speculation has been mounting about which celebrities will grace the dancefloor. Current cast rumours include Love Island's Dani Dyer, Olympic legend Mo Farah and Corrie star Helen Flanagan. Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn
