Texas A&M women's team closes track season strong with podium finish at NCAA Outdoors
The Texas A&M women's track and field team has consistently ranked in the top five all season long and, among elite programs, finished third at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Overtaking the Georgia Bulldogs, who ran away with the point total, was always going to be a tall order, especially with the next closest team trailing by 26 points. That left a fierce battle for second place, where the USC Trojans edged out the Aggies, 47 to 43, thanks to standout individual performances and a season-best showing in the 4x100m relay.
Junior triple jumper Winny Bii became the Aggies' lone NCAA Champion of the day. Her opening jump of 13.96m (45-9.75) held up throughout the competition, earning Texas A&M its first-ever NCAA title in the women's triple jump. Debora Cherono, Jasmine Montgomery, Jaiya Covington, and Sofia Yakushina all scored key points, helping solidify the team's top-five finish.
Texas A&M also notched two top-four relay results, second in the 4x100m (42.89) and fourth in the 4x400m (3:27.11), both marking season-best times. While the ultimate goal remains a national title, finishing third in the season was a strong and promising result.

Unfortunately for them, the players were able to win once again and now enjoy a 5-3 lead. It's not an insurmountable lead, but one that might prove difficult for the "old guys" to overcome. Here's a look at a snippet of the dodgeball win by the players. Remember, "if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." Elite WR commit Kohen Brown shuts down recruitment, sticking with Texas Texas has been red hot on the recruiting trail over the last few weeks. Last weekend, they got a pledge from four-star wide receiver Kohen Brown. However, in this day and age of college football, the recruiting process continues until a player officially signs. A few days after his commitment, Brown canceled official visits to Notre Dame and Ole Miss. On Saturday, Brown let it be known that he isn't taking any more visits as he has shut down his recruitment and will remain with Texas. Brown was once committed to USC. However, after he decommitted in May, Texas made him an offer six days later. In less than a month he took an official visit to Austin and that's all it took to get his commitment. The Longhorns have the No. 18 recruiting class at the moment per 247Sports with Brown still on board. They hosted a ton of prospects this weekend as well, so their ranking could improve soon. Alabama track star wins national championship, breaks NCAA record After men's runner Samuel Ogazi won a title Friday night, another member of the Alabama Crimson Tide track and field team has won a national championship. That national title winning runner is Doris Lemngole, who captured a championship yet again Saturday night in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Lemngole joins Ogazi as outdoor national champions from Alabama in 2025, as the men's star won it all in the 400-meter. To win the national championship, Lemngole finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:58.15, which was a noteworthy mark as well. That is because Lemngole broke the collegiate record in the event, a mark which was previously held by herself. With the result, Lemngole also goes back-to-back in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, defending her national title. The Alabama star was also the 2024 cross country national champion, as well as the 2025 indoor 5,000-meter national champion.
