Contestants stay at a castle in the Scottish Highlands, where a few are secretly designated as 'Traitors' whose job is to 'murder' their fellow players, without getting caught.
The rest are 'Faithfuls' who try to detect who the 'Traitors' are and banish them from the game before they become their next victim.
The aim of the game is to survive to the final few players. If they are all 'Faithfuls', then the prize money is split among them, but if a 'Traitor' is left, they take it all.

Hollywood star to host new ITV game show which is already a smash hit around the globe

EX-QUIZ-ITE NEWS Hollywood star to host new ITV game show which is already a smash hit around the globe A GLOBAL quiz phenomenon is coming to ITV on Saturday nights — and chances are, if you've been abroad lately, you have already heard of it. Like The Traitors or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, The Floor is a blockbuster format that's conquered TV markets around the world, including the US, where it's fronted by movie star Rob Lowe. Advertisement 6 The US version of The Floor is currently fronted by movie star Rob Lowe Credit: Dan Smith/FOX Now it's heading for its 25th territory, the UK. The show will land here next year, though ITV bosses are yet to reveal which famous face will be taking the helm in our version. Katie Rawcliffe, ITV's director of entertainment, said: 'The Floor, with its compelling gameplay, is an excellent addition to our roster of existing popular quiz shows across ITV and ITVX.' Originally a Dutch show, it features 81 quiz fanatics facing off in duels on a giant LED floor divided into 81 squares, each representing its own field of knowledge. Advertisement The goal is to conquer the entire floor and take home a huge cash prize, with each duel upping the stakes and the tension. The Floor has already been a big hit in countries including Australia, Poland and Spain and recently launched in Estonia and Latvia. Over in the US, it has already run for three seasons, and hiring such a big Hollywood name to front it was an instant sign of TV bosses' confidence in the format. Now broadcaster Fox has ordered two more seasons, continuing the format through next year and 2027 in America. Advertisement Sounds like they'll soon be flooring Brit quiz fans, too. The Floor fans love Rob Lowe's new game show - but spot 'rigged' detail with key segment PIERCE IN THE CLUB WITH HELEN 6 Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren appeared together on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight show Credit: Getty PIERCE BROSNAN and Helen Mirren have hit the campaign trail for Netflix's The Thursday Murder Club. The movie adaptation of Richard Osman's crime novel tells the story of a group of pensioners whose hobby of investigating unsolved killings explodes when a real-life murder lands on their patch. Advertisement The book is set in a quiet village in Kent – but if Pierce and Helen's glam appearance on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight show in the US is anything to go by, their film will be more Hollywood than humdrum. Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie also star, with the movie debuting in cinemas on August 22 before it appears on Netflix on August 28. KATH IS OFF TO A FLYER 6 Katherine Kelly will play the role of a flight attendant for new Channel 4 drama In Flight Credit: Channel 4 / Peter Marley DON'T be surprised if Katherine Kelly's role as a flight attendant for new Channel 4 drama In Flight is ultra convincing. Advertisement The star of the six-parter revealed that a high-flying pal gave her a unique insight. Katherine said: 'I love the homework side of things. I love to step on set fully prepared. 'I have a friend who is senior cabin crew, so I was lucky enough to shadow her for a day.' The drama, which continues tonight at 9pm, follows single mum Jo, who is coerced into smuggling drugs for a dangerous criminal gang in a desperate bid to keep her son safe. Advertisement Katherine added: 'I just hope people are going to enjoy it because that's what the thrill is all about.' TOMMY DAD'S TIP FOR MOL 6 A new documentary is beginning next week about Tommy Fury Credit: BBC TOMMY FURY'S dad John told Molly-Mae Hague to leave his son when the Love Island pair's relationship got rocky. The revelation appears in his new documentary Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury, which begins next week on BBC Three. Advertisement John, who's also the father of champion boxer Tyson Fury, says in the first episode of the much-anticipated series: 'I knew from dealing with Tyson that when the drinking started to come into play, I thought 'Not again'. 'Molly came to me with this stuff, and I said, 'What you're best off doing with him, Molly, is walking away because if he is not gonna change himself, he doesn't think that much of you, does he?'' In the show, fighter Tommy discusses alleged infidelities prior to their brief split last year, but he maintains: 'The reason for our ending the relationship was alcohol.' FAN ALEX IS PITCH PERFECT 6 Funnyman Alex Brooker is set to feature on a new footie quiz Credit: Rex Advertisement ALEX BROOKER is kicking off a new football-themed quiz. The Last Leg funnyman will pit three diehard supporters against a team of sporting legends and celebrity fans to see who comes out on top. With the working title Call Yourself A Fan?, the show aims to echo the spirit of Soccer AM and Fantasy Football League. Gary Neville's Buzz 16 production company is behind the new show, which does not have a broadcaster confirmed yet. Advertisement But execs say it's a 'fast-paced format packed with laughs', with 'fierce competition, tantalising trivia, and a whole lot of nonsense, all held together by a brilliant host and a studio audience.' Sounds like a winner. LADIES SING THE LOOSE 6 Loose Women's Frankie Bridge was in The Saturdays Credit: Rex BEFORE many of ITV's first ladies became Loose Women, they were famed for their singing and dancing. Advertisement For starters, Frankie Bridge was in The Saturdays and – a little further back – Coleen Nolan was world famous with her sisters, selling more than 30million records. Now the daytime show will celebrate the healing power of music for the Loose ladies with a one-off show. Loose Women: The Music will feature special performances and stories shared by the cast about the times music has helped them. The special will be recorded later this month. Advertisement Perhaps they can tempt ex-Loosey Jane McDonald back to sing a tune or two. ITV has announced new shows as part of its Fresh Cuts diversity push. Sketch show Say! Less! stars rising black comedy stars, while in The Blind Matchmakers, a trio of vision-impaired love gurus helping singles find love. The shows, and four others, land on ITVX and YouTube later this year. Advertisement A DATING show will follow single lovebirds at a blood bank while they donate to save lives. Partnering with the NHS, two-parter Love Is In The Blood will launch on Tuesday on Channel 4.0 – the digital-first brand from Channel 4 – hosted by the YouTuber Adeola Patronne.

Celeb SAS star joins long-running BBC Radio 2 show in permanent role

Harry Clark has joined Pause For Thought in a permanent role just one day after viewers saw The Traitors star leave Celeb Sas: Who Dares Wins Harry Clark has joined Pause For Thought in a permanent role. The reality star, who won The Traitors in 2023, has just left Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after being dismissed from the tough military programme, and appeared on BBC Radio 2's long-running segment where he opened up about his religious beliefs. ‌ Joining Scott Mills live on air, he said: "I know that some of your listeners will know me from winning The Traitors, and I wanna know more about that next week but for now, for this Pause For Thought, I thought I'd tell you more about what makes me tick. So, I'm Harry, I'm 24, and I come from a massive family. ‌ "There's five of us children, I've got two brothers, two sisters and a mum and dad. Despite achieving something, I'm still just a normal kid from Slough who lives with his parents and sisters in a council house. Both of my brothers have now moved out. Luckily, thanks to my mum, religion has always been a big part of my life and has helped me all the way through." ‌ "Faith has been, and it means a lot to me always and it's amazing to be a part of something bigger that is outside of myself. As soon as I could I decided I was off to North Yorkshire at the age of 16 to become an avionics technician, which is technically a helicopter engineer, which is easier to understand but it's still just as crazy as it sounds. I'd never seen a helicopter before I left Slough, so becoming a helicopter engineer is the coolest thing ever." The engineer, who has also appeared on celebrity editions of The Weakest Link and Antiques Roadshow since winning £90,000 on the hit BBC game show, recalled tough times when he was in the army and how he found solace in turning to God. He added: "My first real connection with Christianity though was when I went through a hard time in the army and being away from home. My mum said 'Listen, Harry just try praying and do what you know,' and that has saved me throughout my life. Suddenly, I didn't feel alone and I managed to get myself out of the hole I'd dug myself into. ‌ "I was asked to go on Traitors series two, which to my surprise, I actually managed to win somehow. Since then, it's been a rollercoaster of ups and downs and around summertime again last year, I seemed to lose myself mentally but then the thing that saved me for a second time was my faith. When I prayed, I didn't feel alone and I felt that there was something there for me just like there always has been." Harry also admitted that while he used to be a regular churchgoer, it is not something he needs to do on a weekly basis now and then Scott said: "It's so good to have you as part of your Pause For Thought team and to hear a bit more about you," and added: "I'll see you next week!" as the segment came to an end. Earlier this year, Harry turned down a reported £300,000 to appear on Celebrity Big Brother in favour of an appearance on the BBC Two show Pilgrimage instead, Speaking about the choices he made, Harry said: "I think it was just because it meant so much to me that I wanted to do this show. It was just me as a whole, and when my manager brought it to me, it was like, again, this whole career that we're trying to carve out in this industry is one of authenticity." ‌ Harry, who is a practising Catholic, added: "It's like, I want it to be authentic to me, and what means the most to me, and that's religion, and that's my family. Also I know it made my mum proud. But also for me personally, I knew that my religion itself had got a little bit cloudy." Harry, who is a practising Catholic, added: "It's like, I want it to be authentic to me, and what means the most to me, and that's religion, and that's my family. Also I know it made my mum proud. But also for me personally, I knew that my religion itself had got a little bit cloudy." Continuing about his spirituality, Harry said: "It was always strong faith. I was always still praying, but then I never really knew... It's easy to go off the rails a little bit and see, well, what am I even actually praying for? "The pilgrimage was that sort of wipe where it made it a clear vision again."

BBC fans fume over 'unfinished' plot as Scots black comedy axed after two series

Nicola Walker has been dealt a major blow as the popular BBC series has been written off by the broadcaster - and fans are less than impressed. It has been revealed that Annika will not be making a return to screens for a third series. The BBC announced that the show, starring Nicola Walker, had been axed after two series. ‌ Nicola, 55, has been dealt the huge blow as the detective drama will no longer run on U+Alibi and BBC. Fans have been left less than impressed at the "disappointing" news as they slammed bosses' decision. ‌ The series was first based on the BBC Radio 4 audio drama Annika Strandhed, with Nicola voicing the principal character. The programme was renowned for its distinctive style, with the detective regularly breaking the fourth wall to speak directly to viewers. ‌ A representative informed the RadioTimes: "We are incredibly proud of the success of Annika on U+Alibi, but there are no current plans for a third series." Annika's axe comes despite its impressive Rotten Tomatoes rating, with an 83 per cent score and a 96 per cent audience rating. ‌ The drama saw Annika leading the fictional Glasgow-based Marine Homicide Unit, with the cast consisting of Katie Leung as DC Blair Ferguson, Jamie Sives as DS Michael McAndrews, Ukweli Roach as DS Tyrone Clarke and Kate Dickie as DCI Diane Oban. The star-studded line-up also included Doctor Who star Varada Sethu joining as DC Harper Weston in season two, while Paul McGann played Annika's love interest Jake Strathearn, and Silvie Furneaux was her daughter, Morgan. Following the news, fans took to social media to vent their frustrations. One person wrote on Twitter: "So disappointed that #BBC aren't bringing #Annika back for S3. So many unfinished plot lines. Really enjoyed S1&2." ‌ Another added: "Shame current series of #Annika on @BBCOne is the last. Such a great series...," as a third simply remarked: "Gutted they have cancelled Annika." "WHAT?!! Love this show! Why must @BBC axe popular progs? Why stop after a cliffhanger at the end of the previous series?," fumed another. ‌ Viewers also took to discussion platform Reddit, equally as 'gutted' over the news expressing how angry they were. One person wrote: "Gutted about this, loved the show. P****d off as well, don't end things on a cliffhanger then cancel it, insult to the audience!" Someone else added: "Damn, that's so annoying; I enjoyed both series immensely. At least give us the trifecta to close things out properly!" "All it needed was one more series to be complete I reckon, what a joke," wrote another. "One of the better things from the BBC in years and now they axe it with what exactly to fill it's place? Nothing... is most likely the answer." ‌ Someone else quipped: "Well that sucks, really was enjoying it and wanted to know what was going to happen in the next series. Why do they do this? Surely this was getting enough viewing figures to continue it. Either way it totally sucks a**." However, not everyone was surprised, as some people didn't have great reviews. One person said: "Surprised they green lit series 2," as someone else wrote: "Probably the only show with Nicola Walker that was a dull fest. Just didn't happen." ‌ Another added: "It worked well on the radio series but didn't always translate to screen. I really recommend the R4 series, also with Nicola Walker." "I love her work. But when I watched the first episode and she turned to the camera and spoke, I was like: this doesn't feel right. I never went back," expressed someone else. One other quipped: "Love Nicola Walker but this did her no favours," as someone else echoed: "Agreed. Love her and will watch anything she's in. But this was by far my least favorite."
