Bayern Munich midfielder Lena Oberdorf won't be included in the Germany squad for the women's Euro 2025 in Switzerland this summer, the German Football Federation (DFB) said on Wednesday.
The player ruptured the cruciate ligament in her knee in July last year.

"She is on a good path, but the Euros are too early for her," coach Christian Wück said in a DFB statement.
"We want to give her time to prepare fully and look forward to seeing her again in the new season," he added.
Wück will name his squad for the tournament on June 12.
The midfielder hasn't played a single match since her injury. However, she was included the Germany squad for the Nations League matches against the Netherlands last Friday and against Austria on Tuesday, and trained with the national team.
It was important "that we have Obi here with us again so that we can fully assess her performance," Wück explained.
The DFB officials had previously agreed with Bayern that Oberdorf would not play in the Nations League matches.

Bayern Munich's Joao Palhinha to have Tottenham medical ahead of loan transfer

Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete a season-long loan move for Joao Palhinha. According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, the 30-year-old will have a medical in Germany on Friday ahead of joining Spurs from Bayern Munich. The Lilywhites will cover full wages of Palhinha, and they will have the option to make the move permanent for €30 million at the end of the season. The Portugal international is deemed surplus to requirements at Bayern, with Leon Goretzka, Aleks Pavlovic, Joshua Kimmich and Konrad Laimer all ahead of him in the pecking order. Palhinha was made available by the Bundesliga giants this summer, but Tottenham preferred a loan transfer over a permanent deal. The defensive midfielder started his career at Sporting Lisbon before joining Fulham in 2022. He enjoyed a successful two years at Craven Cottage, featuring in 79 games and scoring eight goals. Palhinha's performances convinced Bayern to splash a fee worth €51m to hire his services last year. But he failed to make a huge impact for the Bavarians, starting just six league matches due to form and fitness issues. Tottenham have made several quality acquisitions this summer, as they aim to make a solid start to the 2025-26 campaign under new manager Thomas Frank. The North Londoners have brought in Mohammed Kudus, Kota Takai and Luka Vuskovic, while Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel have also joined the club on permanent deals. Now they are on the verge of completing a loan transfer for Palhinha. Stats from Transfermarkt

Joao Palhinha to have Tottenham medical ahead of loan move from Bayern Munich

Joao Palhinha is to have a Tottenham medical in Germany on Friday ahead of a season-long loan move from Bayern Munich. The deal includes the option to make the transfer permanent for €30million (£25.9m, $34.2m) at the end of the season, and Spurs will cover his wages in full. The Athletic reported on Thursday that Tottenham were in talks with Bayern over a proposed loan move for Palhinha. The Portuguese midfielder was made available by the German champions this summer, but the Premier League club favoured a loan move over a permanent deal. Advertisement Palhinha joined Bayern last summer in a deal worth €51million ($58.3m) following a successful two years at Fulham but he made just 25 appearances for Vincent Kompany's side, of which 10 were starts. The 30-year-old was often behind Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Konrad Laimer in Kompany's selection, and the German champions have signed another midfielder, Tom Bischof, this summer. Tottenham and Bayern have already done business this summer, after the north London club signed Mathys Tel permanently, following his loan spell in the second half of 2024-25. Palhinha was Fulham's player of the season in his debut campaign at Craven Cottage and made 79 appearances in total for the club. Before his move to the Premier League, he had spent the entirety of his senior career in Portugal with Sporting CP and had several loan spells elsewhere. The Portugal international could become Tottenham's fifth new arrival of the summer. Mohammed Kudus joined Spurs from West Ham United earlier in July in a deal worth £55million ($74.7m), alongside defenders Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai from Hajduk Split and Kawasaki respectively, while Tel joined permanently from Bayern. Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White was set to undergo a medical to join Tottenham but later signed a new contract at the City Ground. ()
