So with another Pride Month officially in full swing, we thought we'd take stock of some LGBTQ+ TV couples currently demanding our attention — as well as our full support. And what a group we've assembled this year, one that includes a pair of ghosts, a few vampires and, yes, even a handful of humans.

The very definition of #CoupleGoals (are people still saying that?), Hen and Karen have been an inspiration, both to the other couples on the show and to the viewers at home, from the moment we met them in Season 1. They've had to fight tooth and nail to keep their growing family intact, with every obstacle making them stronger along the way. Plus, there's simply no denying Aisha Hinds and Tracie Thoms' natural chemistry. — Andy Swift
An esteemed Congressman and an in-demand journalist? These two have the potential to become D.C.'s top gay power couple — that is, if they can get their house in order first. Martin may own an array of designer suits, but with all those skeletons in his closet, he barely has anywhere to put them. Criminal Minds over 18 seasons (and counting) has, frankly, not featured much LGBTQ+ romance, so Evolution steering Tara into bisexual territory was monumental. Save for an early-season love scene (a rarity for the crime drama!), this pairing has had little screen time in Season 18, but it's good to know they're going strong — to the point that it may be time to meet the parents! — Matt Mitovich

After a string of failed romances, Leo seems to have finally gotten it right with Javi, and we're enjoying this latest version of him. This flame was well on its way to being rekindled when all hell broke loose in the Season 3 finale — just as Eve got blindsided by Francine's talk of having kids. In the heat of the moment, Eve didn't pivot well (at all), but in the wake of Francine's heroics during the Three Rock blaze, we hope they in fact are back on track. — M.M.
Yes, the cute couple played by Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani hit a bit of turbulence in the freshman season of Netflix's vacation comedy. (Danny ignoring his health issues and Claude's hot Italian temper led to a fight where Danny's clothes ended up on the front lawn.) But once you get past all the drama, there's a genuine sweetness to these two, and we loved watching them cuddle together and make up. — Dave Nemetz

When these immortal lovers reunited in a hotel at the end of Season 2, in the midst of a devastating New Orleans storm, the structure quite literally crumbled around them. Louis and Lestat have a love for the ages, and now that their mutual misunderstandings have been cleared up, we're hoping for a fresh start moving forward. — A.S.

Charley is one of those puppy dog characters to whom you only ever want to see good things happen, so imagine our pleasant surprise when he struck up a romance with pouty potter Yuri in the ghost drama's second season. The chemistry, the kisses, the Ghost reenactment — it was all just so, so good. If they couldn't be their authentic selves when they were alive, at least they can be happy together in the afterlife, right? — A.S.
After four long, dry seasons (unless you count tears!), we were beginning to think that Isaac would never find someone to share his life with. But then, just when we least expected it, along came Michael to sweep his former frenemy off his feet. Going to KC's PrideFest? Here's how organizers plan to secure the celebration
If you see police at Kansas City's PrideFest, they were asked to be there. Law enforcement officers will provide security for the weekend of festivities celebrating the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, according to Kansas City police officials. Police spokesperson Capt. Jake Becchina told The Star in an email that KCPD will have dozens of officers 'along the route and at point security locations.' He added that the department has been involved with the festival since Police Chief Stacey Graves took office in December 2022. 'We also have many additional technological resources that we will employ to best ensure the safety of all involved,' Becchina said. PrideFest draws approximately 22,000 people to its Saturday parade and weekend celebration at Frank A. Theis Park. Kansas City police will also have a float in Saturday's parade. The Kansas City PRIDE Community Alliance, a nonprofit that puts on the events, is also celebrating 50 years of advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and other identities this year. The celebration comes at a time when the queer community has been targeted with anti-DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and executive orders from President Donald Trump and his administration. Organizers said they lost $200,000 in corporate sponsorship because of those efforts. When asked about security measures, organizers sent a statement to The Star saying they are focused on the celebration instead of hate and fear. 'We understand that questions about safety are top of mind for many, and we want to be clear: Pride has always been about showing up with courage, joy, and love—especially in the face of adversity,' the statement read. 'Rather than focusing on fear, we're focusing on what makes us powerful: community, connection, and celebration. PrideFest 2025 is packed with incredible entertainment, diverse vendors, and family-friendly activities. From our thoughtfully designed layout to our expanded accessibility and wellness resources, every aspect of this event has been built with care, intention, and the well-being of our community in mind.' PrideFest features booths for LGBTQ-friendly nonprofits and businesses. It also has musical and drag performances. Friday was the opening night of jubilee. Saturday's highlight will be the parade that begins at Westport Road and Broadway Boulevard. And Sunday is billed as Family and Community Day. The organizers say they have chosen joyful resistance as their top priority and encourage others to do the same. 'We are deeply grateful for the volunteers, partners, and neighbors who help make PrideFest a place where people feel affirmed and energized,' they said.
