
2026 Genesis GV80 Coupe Review, Pricing, and Specs
Sitting alongside the more sober-looking GV80 SUV in Genesis's lineup, the 2026 GV80 Coupe wears a suit with a more form-fitting cut, but its sportier looks are betrayed by its soft-riding demeanor. Under the hood is a turbocharged V-6 with 375 horsepower; an upgraded version with an electric supercharger pumps up the power to 409 ponies. Performance is perky, but we wish Genesis had tuned the chassis with more fun in mind. Two rows of seats are nestled under the GV80 Coupe's sloping roof, and adults will find plenty of space in both the front and the rear. Luxuries abound; the GV80 Coupe impresses with premium materials, thickly cushioned seats, a massive display screen, and even a fragrance diffuser.

This year is the GV80 Coupe's second, and given its freshness, we expect to see no changes.

The price of the 2026 Genesis GV80 Coupe is expected to start around $82,000 and go up to $88,000 depending on the trim and options.

The standard GV80 Coupe comes fully loaded with plenty of standard features, from a panoramic sunroof to powered, heated, and ventilated rear seats. While the e-Supercharged variant gets extra oomph with its 409 hp, it doesn't add much in the way of interior features or material changes. The base model's 375 ponies from its turbocharged V-6 is still plenty of punch, so we would save the money and stick with the base model.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The GV80 Coupe will be offered with two engine options, both gasoline-powered. A twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 makes 375 horsepower in base form, but a 409-hp variant is available and uses an electric supercharger to boost its output. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Genesis is casting the GV80 Coupe as the sportier alternative to the three-row GV80 SUV. During our initial test drive, we didn't find the Coupe to be any sharper than the squareback GV80, besides the extra oomph of the available 409-hp powertrain that's not available in the standard model. The Coupe model also gets an exclusive Sport+ driving mode, which is said to tighten up the driving experience, but even in that mode, the overall vibe remains decidedly plush.

In our testing, the GV80 Coupe with the electric supercharger got to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. We expect the standard 375-hp model to be a bit slower, but we haven't yet had a chance to test it.

With either the standard or upgraded engine, the GV80 Coupe is rated to tow up to 6000 pounds. A towing hitch is required but can be added as a dealer-installed accessory.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
The EPA hasn't released any fuel economy information for the 2026 GV80 Coupe yet, but the 2025 model earned ratings as high as 18 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. When we get a chance, we'll take the GV80 Coupe on our 75-mph highway fuel economy test route and update this story with its results. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
It doesn't take a detailed spec sheet to tell you that the GV80 Coupe's interior isn't as spacious as the regular GV80's, but amenities are similarly generous. There's no third-row seat in this fastback SUV, meaning the Coupe has two-row seating for five. The same basic features and designs are found inside as the GV80, including plush seats wrapped in quilted leather upholstery. Genesis has incorporated luxurious features either as standard or optional extras, including heated armrests, an in-car fragrance diffuser, and a device that uses UV light to disinfect your smartphone. Cargo space behind the second row of seats is generous by two-row SUV standards, but if hauling bulky items is part of your regular day-to-day, the three-row GV80 may serve you better.

Infotainment and Connectivity
All GV80 Coupes come with a huge 27.0-inch digital display that starts behind the steering wheel with a gauge display and flows to the right into a touchscreen infotainment screen. They can also be manipulated via a clickwheel controller on the center console. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a wireless smartphone charging pad are all standard features. A 14.6-inch rear-seat entertainment screen is available, as is a Bang & Olufsen stereo system.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
A full suite of driver-assistance features is standard, including a semi-autonomous driving mode, which learns how the owner drives and mimics that person's driving style while in use. Vehicle catches fire on I-90 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois
An SUV caught fire Saturday morning on Interstate 90 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. It happened just before 7 a.m. on the outbound I-90 near Golf Road. The Illinois State Police said they closed down three left lanes as smoke poured from the SUV in the median. At one point, the flame's heat burst the tires. A person was also seen running away from the vehicle. No injuries were reported. State police did not say what caused the fire. Fire crews were able to put out the blaze, and all lanes reopened around 7:45 a.m. No further information was immediately available.

3 Reasons General Motors Stock Is a Screaming Buy
Key Points General Motors has sharply reduced its shares outstanding and boosted EPS. The Detroit carmaker has invested billions into its brands and product lineup. Moreover, management has successfully restructured its business in China. 10 stocks we like better than General Motors › When thinking about General Motors (NYSE: GM), many investors think back to the financial crisis and government bailout, but that doesn't do justice to the company that GM has become in the years since. GM is doing a lot of things right, and it's quietly becoming arguably the best automotive investment out there. Here are three reasons why. Returning value When it comes to returning value to shareholders, there are two primary pathways: dividends and share buybacks. Each comes with its advantages, but General Motors has decided to go heavy on share buybacks, with its stock trading at a paltry eight times price-to-earnings. General Motors has been extremely engaged in share buyback programs over the past decade. The Detroit automaker has consistently used strong free cash flow, along with the belief that its stock is heavily undervalued, to significantly reduce shares outstanding and boost earnings per share. You can see the extreme change in the graphic below. The carmaker has spent nearly $25 billion on share repurchases over the past three-plus years, reducing the number of shares outstanding from 1.5 billion to 950 million over that span. This is a significant and serious amount of cash spent to buy back shares when you consider that GM's market cap is roughly $50 billion. As long as GM's stock remains cheap, GM buying back its shares is good for investors, and that isn't likely to change in the near-term. Investing in brands/product General Motors has spent billions of dollars and years of time investing in its portfolio of brands and vehicles, and it's starting to pay off. Chevrolet, the heart and soul of General Motors, and GMC have both been thriving in 2025, with a record first half for GMC and the best since 2019 for Chevrolet. The brands, and GM in general, are coming off a product wave over the past few years that brought updated crossovers, SUVs, and EVs to the market -- and its highly profitable trucks are next. Chevrolet is also making a splash in the EV market, becoming the No. 2 brand during the second quarter, trailing only Tesla in the U.S. market. July was the best sales month ever for the Equinox EV, and it was the best sales result for an EV other than a Tesla in the U.S. market. The Equinox is projected to place in the top three in sales for 2025, behind only Tesla's Model Y and 3. In the broader picture, General Motors has invested heavily into its products and brands, and that's going to carry sales momentum for years to come. A turnaround in China China has been the promised land for automakers for decades: a booming population with a craving for vehicles. Unfortunately for foreign automakers, domestic brands have thrived in recent years -- so much so that there's a brutal price war going on, causing even the best foreign autos to struggle with profitability and market share. General Motors had previously been extremely successful in China, driving billions to the bottom line at its peak. But this price war hit GM hard, too, and forced the company back to the drawing board for a roughly $4 billion restructuring strategy. It's paying off, and GM just turned in a second consecutive quarter of sales increases, increasing 20% during Q2. "Our strong Q2 performance reflects the sustainable growth trajectory we are building in both sales and market share through local innovations," said Steve Hill, GM senior vice president and president of GM China. "We remain committed to driving profitable growth for China business by focusing on strong execution, business agility and customer choices." What it all means General Motors has been doing a lot of things right lately, even if Wall Street hasn't noticed. The company has spent tens of billions of dollars reducing its shares outstanding, poured billions in investments into brands and products, and reversed one of its biggest weaknesses in China. Prancing God: Ferrari's New F80 Hybrid Is the Best Car I've Ever Driven
Like a brilliant comet, a true supercar from Maranello—such as the new Ferrari F80—appears very rarely, but when it does, the automotive world can't look away. The luminous F40 debuted in 1987, followed by the F50 in 1995, the otherworldly Enzo in 2002, the eponymous LaFerrari in 2013, and now, arriving in early 2026, the inimitable F80. To call this 1,184 hp street-legal Prancing Horse magnificent feels like an understatement. In two decades of professional driving, I've never piloted anything so sublimely capable of devouring pavement; it borders on menacing. That's no surprise, given that it unleashes more power than any road-going Ferrari to leave the factory in history and distills everything the marque has learned in nearly 80 years. The proof, as always, is how it feels on the road—as if every insight and innovation is seamlessly deployed. Developed alongside Ferrari's endurance-focused 499P—which makes 670 hp and recently won its third consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans—the F80 required a few more years of R&D. As the automaker points out, it's easier to build a car for motorsport than for the market. Like the 499P and the 296 GTB, the F80 carries a compact 3.0-liter 120-degree V-6. But unlike the others—or any production car apart from the Porsche 911 GTS—it uses energy derived from the battery to power two massive electric turbochargers spinning at 160,000 rpm. Supplementing the engine's 888 hp are three electric motors—one located on the left cylinder bank and two at the front axle. Straight-line performance is staggering: zero to 125 mph in a claimed 5.3 seconds, and zero to 60 in a mere 2.0. Launch control is a wild ride, equal parts fun and brutal, as all that boost sends the V-6 screaming. Driving the F80 quickly and efficiently means tracking the shift lights atop the steering wheel: After seven red lights, two final blue flash near the 9,000 rpm mark—your cue to pull the upshift paddle. Miss it and you'll bump into the rev limiter at 9,200 rpm. After taking five handwritten pages of notes on the aerodynamics, I feel confident saying that aside from the Aston Martin Valkyrie, nothing harnesses the wind like this Ferrari. It produces 1,014 pounds of downforce on the front axle and 1,300 on the rear at 155 mph—a speed I approached repeatedly while lapping Italy's 2.62-mile Misano circuit. To ensure that the F80's aero performance stays consistent, four 48-volt active dampers complete a cycle every 25 milliseconds to maintain ride height and prevent body roll. It may sound strange that the car doesn't lean or compress, but when cornering at these velocities, even slight changes in downforce would be disruptive. Plenty of modern hypercars are absurdly quick, but few offer this level of control: It invites, even demands, that you attack a road or a circuit with total confidence—and attack is the right word. I've driven the Valkyrie, which struggles with low-speed stability, and Rhys Millen's 2021 Bentley GT3 Pikes Peak car, which shares similar aerodynamics but lacks the same power. Both require aggression, but the F80 is in another league. Simply put, it's safe to say that it drives better than anything I've ever experienced. The only disconcerting thought: I may never drive it again. And unless you're already among Ferrari's most favored few, you likely won't either—all 799 examples have been presold starting at $3.73 million apiece.
