Farmers express joy over Annadata Sukhibhava scheme implementation
According to the official sources as many as 16,938 farmers under the scheme, while 13,002 PM Kisan Samman Yojana(PKSY) total 29,400 received Rs 11 crores in Kovur constituency.
Farmers has expressed joy over securing the amount under both ASS and PKSY schemes at a time. Speaking the occasion, Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy said that she feel fortunate for having work with a remarkable political personality and visionary leader Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu as he is keen on completing every assurance given to the people during 2024 electioneering. The MLA said that as many as 46,85 868 farmers have got benefited Rs 3, 174 crores under ASS and PKSY schemes in the entire State. The MLA said that government will provide the amount to Tenant Farmers each Rs 20,000 under these two schemes in two phases in coming Rabi season and summer period.
While saying that selection of beneficiaries was conducted in a transparent manner based on their documentary evidences enrolled in online system. He said that in case any farmer failed to secure the amount he can approach with toll free number 155221 as government will consider his appeal and redress the problem at once. District Collector O Anand has said that approximately 1.90 lakh farmers under ASS and PKSY have received Rs 131 crores in the entire district.
Joinr Director of Agriculture P Satya Vani has said that applications of 18,000 farmers for under ASS and PMSY were declined due to various reasons including wrong feeding of information in online system. She said that government will open Grievance Module from 3rd August as the farmers who failed to secure the scheme will reapply with proper information.
Agriculture department Assistant Director Anitha, Kovur MRO Subbaiah, MDO Srihari Reddy and others were present.

Intelligent textiles, desert warfare systems among key deep tech projects in pipeline: Defence Ministry
INTELLIGENT TEXTILES, desert warfare systems and wargaming technologies are some of the key areas that have been identified by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) as part of the Deep Tech research under Technology Development Fund (TDF). A separate allocation of Rs 500 crores has been made for these advanced technology projects with defence applications, informed Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth in a written reply to MP Naveen Jindal in the Lok Sabha recently. Jindal had sought to know if the government had approved the new Deep Tech and Cutting-Edge policies under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme and if so, sought details of the projects along with their key features and objectives. Seth said in his reply, 'An additional grant or corpus of Rs 500 crore has been approved by the Defence Minister to cater for deep-tech and cutting edge projects as separate verticals under TDF. The process of the selection and identification of Deep Tech projects has been initiated. Currently, nine projects are launched under this initiative by TDF.' He added that nine industries are engaged in four projects sanctioned through DRDO Industry Academia Centres of Excellence (DIA-CoEs) under the grants in aid scheme of DRDO. Seth told the House that the projects cover research areas such as Intelligent Textile Technologies, Desert Warfare Technologies, War-gaming Technologies, Powder Metallurgy, High Power Microwave Sources and Devices, Advanced Ballistics, Photonic Technologies, Aerospace Systems and Materials, Micro and Nano Systems Science and Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Quantum Technology, Naval Systems and Naval Technologies, High Power CW Laser Source, Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Materials and Processing, Advanced Nano Materials and Sensors based on Semiconductors. Intelligent Textiles are fabrics that can sense, react, or adapt to environmental conditions or user input. Desert Warfare systems are military equipment and mechanisms specifically designed for effective combat operations in hot, arid, and sandy desert environments. Wargaming Technologies and essentially simulation tools are softwares used to model military operations for training, planning, and strategic decision-making. Seth also provided a list of 55 institutes from 20 states in India that have undertaken a total of 302 projects in these areas. These include two institutes from Pune including Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) and the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP). He added, 'DRDO has a Long Term Directed Research Policy (LTDRP) for engaging academia. Projects are monitored at three stages in regular intervals throughout the year. Technical evaluation committee (TEC) evaluates the new project proposals and does regular technical progress monitoring. Research Advisory Board (RAB) reviews the new projects recommended by TEC and also monitors sanctioned projects for their progress and addresses the techno managerial issues of Centre of Excellence (CoE) and the projects. The Governing Council approves the projects, oversees the overall functioning of the Centre and projects sanctioned through the Centre.'

MP Waje seeks immigration checkpoint at Nashik airport
Nashik: Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje recently met with Union aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu to push for significant developments at Nashik airport ahead of the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela in 2026-2028. Waje submitted a memorandum requesting an immigration checkpoint and a major airport expansion to handle the expected influx of devotees. The proposed expansion includes constructing a new terminal building with seating for 1,000 passengers, developing new taxiways, and increasing the number of aircraft parking bays. Waje also called for the construction of separate helipads at the airport, in Nashik city, and in Trimbakeshwar to manage the massive crowd. Naidu has assured Waje that he would look into these requests. Additionally, Waje proposed that the airport be named after Yashwantrao Chavan, Maharashtra's first chief minister who was instrumental in bringing the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) unit to Nashik. Currently, the Nashik-Delhi flight has been reduced from daily to four days a week. This service should be made daily again. The airport, a joint venture between the state government and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), was developed between 2013 and 2014 at a cost of Rs 94 crore. The current terminal can only accommodate 300 passengers at a time. With the footfall expected to reach 1,000 passengers per hour during the Kumbh Mela, HAL has submitted a proposal to state govt for a much-needed upgrade. However, a decision on the development plan is still pending.

AIS mismatch causes chaos for taxpayers with stock market exposure
Ahmedabad: With the income-tax return (ITR) filing deadline fast approaching, chartered accountants and tax practitioners are raising alarm over widespread mismatches in the Annual Information Statement (AIS), particularly for individuals with stock market investments including mutual funds. Several taxpayers have flagged discrepancies between actual stock market transactions and the data reflected in the AIS. According to sources, a key concern is that in many instances, the AIS shows a purchase value of zero for listed securities. This significantly inflates the capital gains — and consequently the tax liability — for the taxpayer. The inconsistencies are attributed to the use of multiple data sources by the Income Tax Department, such as stock exchanges, mutual funds and depositories. We are forced to raise feedback within the return to get it corrected," Lakhani explained. CA Jainik Vakil, chairman of the direct tax committee of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) said, "Mutual funds entry is sometimes reflected twice in AIS because same transactions are reported twice-- one by registrar and one by depository." Mukesh Patel, international tax expert said, "There are multiple data mismatch in AIS but fortunately, vigilante tax payers can compare their own data with AIS and correct it with feedback. It will help them in case of scrutiny." A senior chartered accountant added, "Return filing has become far more complicated this year due to the existence of two slabs for short-term and long-term capital gains — one applicable before 23 July 2024, and another post that date. We've also observed that in cases where shares were received as gifts, via succession, or acquired before 31 January 2018, the AIS lists the purchase cost as zero. The same issue applies in cases related to the grandfathering clause. " Tax experts advise taxpayers with stock market exposure to cross-check AIS and TIS data carefully against their demat statements and broker reports before filing. Where discrepancies exist, raising timely feedback within the ITR portal is key to rectification.
