Madonna is hung up on releasing new music, as the pop icon just made a surprising reveal that her upcoming album could be a sequel to her global 2005 smash Confessions on a Dancefloor.
The legendary recording artist announced Thursday that she has a special holiday treat for fans upon premiering a series of new images of herself in a recording studio with her Confessions collaborator, music producer Stuart Price.
"My Valentine's Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I'm putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can't wait to share it with you!!" Madonna wrote in the post's caption, before cryptically teasing that the new material is "Confessions Part 2."

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Madonna for more information.
In December, Madonna confirmed that new music would release in 2025, and also unveiled that she was back in the studio with Price.
"These past few months has been medicine for my SOUL," Madonna wrote at the time. "Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don't need to ask anyone for their permission. I'm so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025?"
In addition to his work on Confessions, which turns 20 in November 2025, Price also recently served as the musical director on Madonna's Celebration tour, a retrospective international concert series that kicked off in 2023 before concluding in May 2024 with a free set on Brazil's Copacabana Beach that drew a record 1.6 million fans to watch her perform.
Outside of working on her new solo material, Madonna also joined The Weeknd and Playboi Carti for the 2023 The Idol soundtrack tune "Popular," which recently crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify and reached No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 — Madonna's highest-charting single since "Give Me All Your Luvin'" hit No. 10 in 2012.Madonna's last full-length album, Madame X, reached No. 1 in the United States in 2019. It was preceded by 2015's Rebel Heart, 2012's MDNA, and 2008's Hard Candy — all of which followed the success of Confessions.
The 66-year-old also recently developed a self-directed biopic about her life, which she co-wrote an initial draft of with Juno's Diablo Cody, and later finished with Erin Cressida Wilson. She later said in November 2024 that she might adapt the project into a TV series instead.

Waymo's robotaxis add better beats to the backseat

Passengers taking a ride inside Waymo's robotaxis can now connect their Spotify account to the vehicle's music system for a more personalized listening experience. The partnership, unveiled this week with the help of American rapper Saweetie, is sure to be warmly welcomed by Spotify users who ride Waymo robotaxis in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, where the feature is currently available. .@Saweetie says #boffum, and we think so, too. 🎶💖 @Spotify is now integrated with the Waymo app. Connect your accounts and vibe today. Learn more: — Waymo (@Waymo) August 12, 2025 The new option means passengers can now easily link their Spotify accounts to listen to their favorite music or podcasts during rides, making the backseat experience more enjoyable and relaxing. Recommended Videos For the one-time setup, all you do is open the Waymo app (make sure you have the latest version) on your phone, go to Account, and select Music. Next, tap on Spotify to connect, and you'll be prompted to log in to your Spotify account. Finally, follow the on-screen instructions to allow your Waymo and Spotify accounts to connect. Now, when you take your next Waymo ride, tap Spotify from the menu that slides out from the right on the in-car display. Scan the QR code, follow the steps on your phone, and simply select what you want to listen to. A nice touch is that you can use an equalizer to fine-tune the sound coming through the robotaxi's speakers. To find it, open the Waymo app and go to Account, then Music and Adjust audio settings. You can also access the equalizer through the Settings icon at the bottom right of the 'now playing' screen. Your Spotify account will remain connected for future Waymo rides, though should you ever want to disconnect it, you can do so in a few taps via Settings in your Waymo account. Be assured, too, that your music selection will automatically stop playing at the end of your trip, with the system resetting for the next rider. For now, users of other popular music streaming services such as Apple Music and Amazon Music will have to continue with Waymo's limited in‑car audio options, or rely on a clunky workaround — via Google Assistant or casting through multiple apps — to access additional music content. If that sounds like a lot of messing around, then just stick your earphones in.

Cardi B celebrated Taylor Swift's album releasing after hers with perfect meme

Taylor Swift has been the talk of the town since Monday, surprise-announcing her next studio album. The Life of A Showgirl, her 12th record, will release on October 3. The album, which is produced by the iconic Max Martin and Shellback, is going to have a strong pop vibe and will be more upbeat than 2024's The Tortured Poets Department. Swift always dominates the charts when her albums drop, so some other artists might not want to try and go against the behemoth that is Taylor Swift. Her The Tortured Poets Department had a record-breaking 300 million streams in one day on Spotify, the first to hit that milestone. It had 799 million streams in a week, also a record. You get the idea. Apparently rapper Cardi B is among that group, which is totally understandable and relatable. The Bronx native has her second studio album, Am I The Drama? releasing on September 19 of this year, and she took to social media to hilariously exclaim her relief that her music will release a couple weeks before Swift's. In the tweet, Cardi B quoted Swift's post that included the release date and added two excellent memes. The first was the relieved Sponge Bob meme, while the second featured Regina Hall from Scary Movie reacting with excitement. A truly wonderful post from Cardi B. Well done.
