Former Vol Chase Dollander made his third career MLB start for Colorado on Saturday. The Nationals defeated Colorado, 12-11, at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.
Dollander (1-2) pitched four innings and recorded five strikeouts. He allowed nine hits, nine runs (six earned), two walks and four home runs. Dollander totaled 78 pitches, including 51 strikes, against 24 batters.
The former Vol totaled 12 first-pitch strikes. 12 of Dollander's 51 strikes were called strikes, while nine were swinging, 13 were foul balls and 17 were in-play strikes.
Dollander was selected by Colorado in the first round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft (No. 9 overall). He played for the Vols from 2022-23 after transferring from Georgia Southern.
Dollander (17-6) appeared in 33 games, including 31 starts, at Tennessee. He recorded 228 strikeouts, one complete game and a .364 ERA in 168 innings pitched during his Tennessee career.
The former Vol earned 2022 Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-America honors. Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference regular-season and tournament championships in 2022, while advancing to the 2023 College World Series.

The Brewers tied it at 1 in the seventh when Jake Bauers' sacrifice fly brought home Collins with an unearned run. San Diego opened the scoring in the fourth inning. Jackson Merrill hit a leadoff single, advanced to second on a Jose Iglesias walk and came home on a two-out single to left from Elias Díaz. Padres starter Stephen Kolek pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings. Milwaukee's José Quintana allowed one run in five innings. Key moment After Arraez tied it with his two-out double in the ninth, he stole third as the Padres threatened to take the lead. Indiana (4-4) dominated the Chicago Sky (2-5) and Angel Reese on Saturday night, 77-52, as Fever guard Caitlin Clark missed her fourth straight game. It's now consecutive wins for Indiana minus Clark after they had dropped their first two minus the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year. Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell led the way with a game-high 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting with five rebounds, a pair of assists and one steal. Associated Press LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Barnett gave up two runs in six innings, Roman Martin had three RBIs for UCLA and the Bruins rallied to beat UTSA 5-2 on Saturday at the Los Angeles Super Regional in the first-ever matchup between the teams. No. 15 national seed UCLA (46-16) can clinch a berth in the College World Series with a win Sunday in Game 2 of the best-of-three series. Barnett (12-1) gave up six hits with no walks. Jack O'Connor and August Souza each pitched a no-hit inning of relief before Easton Hawk had two strikeouts in a 1-2-3 ninth for his seventh save of the season. Payton Brennan, Cashel Duggar and Phoenix Call each hit a single off starter Zach Royse (9-5) to load the bases in the fourth inning before Brennan scored on Dean West's sacrifice fly to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead.
