Major Emmerdale legend set to return - and it's good news for fans
Bernice Blackstock is reportedly returning to Emmerdale, two years on from her departure.
Samantha Giles has played Bernice on and off from 1998. The character is the biological mother of Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), and was often involved in light-hearted storylines to contrast the ongoing drama in the village.
In November 2023, Bernice's sister Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) discovered that she had been buying things in her name.
With Bernice drowning in debt, she attempted to run away and leave her family to pick up the pieces, but Gabby helped her realise that putting things right and facing her problems would be best.
To pay off the debt, Bernice gave Nicola her shares in the B&B. She then left the Dales for Portugal to visit Diane (Elizabeth Estensen).
Bernice is reportedly heading back to the Dales ahead of Gabby and Vinny Dingle's (Bradley Johnson) wedding. According to The Sun, Samantha is due to start filming in a couple of weeks.
'Everything is being kept very hush hush but of course Bernice's return is a big deal as one of the soap's most loved characters', a source told the publication.

From drinking neat rum in a cupboard at 11am to waking up with no memory of the night before, she revealed that her drinking quickly spiralled out of control, but remained hidden behind a polished exterior. Despite having a 'quite unremarkable' drinking history on paper, Ulrika revealed the emotional damage was profound. 'Alcoholics come in all shapes and sizes and many live among us in plain sight,' she wrote, adding that her family history made her vulnerable. 'I wasn't cut out for life,' she confessed, recalling how alcohol became her coping mechanism. 'I wanted the full anaesthetic effect… I just wanted the feelings to stop.' Since giving up alcohol, Ulrika says she has learned more about herself in the past year than in the previous five decades and added how she has had a 'spiritual awakening' and found an 'inner peace'. While family and friends have celebrated the milestone, with her daughter even offering to take her out for a meal, Ulrika admitted the lead-up to her one-year anniversary was filled with anxiety. Doctor Who's Billie Piper and David Tennant 'to reunite' for special episode
Just days after it was revealed that Billie Piper was returning to Doctor Who, replacing Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor, another legendary name has been tipped to make a comeback Doctor Who fans may be in for another huge surprise, as another fan favourite is rumoured to return to the series. Fans are still recovering from the news of Billie Piper's return - and now show legend David Tennant has now been tipped reunite with her onscreen for "one last hurrah". David, who played the role of the Doctor between from 2005 to 2010, is rumoured to be in talks to star in a one off special with co-star Billie. The actress previously appeared as Rose Tyler, companion to the doctor between 2005 and 2006. The pair recently reunited for the BBC special, Doctor Who: Unleashed, 20 Years in Wales where they reflected on their time together. In a sneak preview, Billie and David gushed over how much fun they had on set. Now, it looks like they could be having even more fun - by reuniting for a special anniversary episode. 'The BBC brought Doctor Who back in 2005 and there is talk about a possible one-off project to celebrate the 20th anniversary. David and Billie were a hugely popular partnership and he brought in the golden age of Doctor Who," a source told The Sun. "With the anniversary of the reboot this year there have been some ideas floated about with the idea of maybe bringing David and Billie back together for one last hurrah."
