Olivia Culpo welcomes first baby with Christian McCaffrey. ‘Look at the grip'

Miami Herald4 hours ago
Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey are officially a family of three.
The superstar couple, who celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary on June 29, took to Instagram on July 13 to announce the birth of their first baby together.
In the caption, Culpo revealed the name of her newborn baby girl: Colette Annalise McCaffrey.
Colette, a shortened form of Nicolette meaning 'victory of the people' in Greek (via Nicholas), has been listed in the Social Security Administration's (SSA) top 1,000 every year since 2012.
It most recently ranked 400th in the U.S. with 789 recorded births in 2024, per the SSA.
But, in the eyes of Culpo and McCaffrey, Colette is one-of-one.
'Luckiest man on the planet,' McCaffrey, a running back for the San Francisco 49ers, wrote next to a photo of him and Colette on his Instagram Stories.
'The scariest and most rewarding of all experiences,' Culpo wrote in an Instagram story of her own. 'As soon as (McCaffrey) came into the room I felt most at peace. Look at the grip.'
In a separate story, Culpo praised McCaffrey as the 'best daddy in the world.'
Many of the couple's close friends and colleagues took to the comment section to congratulate them on the new arrival.
'Oh sweet girl you are so loved already. Welcome to the world angel. Love y'all so much,' wrote Natalie Stewart, the wife of retired running back Jonathan Stewart.
'Congratulations!!!! so happy!' added Morgan Romano, who was crowned Miss USA in 2022.
'Colette you have no idea how loved you are already! The luckiest little lady with two of the best to call mom & dad LOVE YOU ALL!!!' wrote Kathleen Messier, who married McCaffrey's brother, Max, in June.
Culpo has 'been dreaming of this' moment for a long time
Culpo, a former Miss USA and Miss Universe winner, revealed her pregnancy in March on Instagram with a black-and-white photo showing off her baby bump in a dress.
'Next chapter, motherhood,' she wrote in the caption on March 10.
In an interview with People, published March 26, Culpo opened up about what she's looking forward to as a first-time mom.
'I'm so excited and grateful to be pregnant. I've been dreaming of this for a long time,' she said at the time. 'It's very special.'
One of the things she was looking forward to the most was making 'traditions' with her new family.
'It is fun growing your family with someone that you really love and just being able to see Christian as a dad will be really exciting,' she told People.
'I just know he's going to be such a good partner and husband and father,' she added. 'I can't wait to see him step into that role. It will just be unlike any other experience.'
On May 18, the couple took to Instagram to share a video of gender predictions from their baby shower.
'I am your mom and I have no idea what you are. I thought you were a boy, now everyone thinks you're a girl, so I think you're a girl, but watch you be a boy,' Culpo said at the start of the video.
'I'm your dad and I think you're going to be a boy,' McCaffrey added in the next clip.
One month later, the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary — two weeks before their baby's birth.
'One year down, with something new, Soon it's more than just us two,' Culpo wrote in a caption on Instagram. 'Best day ever, best year ever… happy anniversary to the love of my life. So so thankful.'
McCaffrey and Culpo sparked dating rumors in 2019 and went Instagram official later that year.
The couple got engaged in 2023, per People, and tied the knot on June 29, 2024. And now they have a baby.

George Kittle Recalls Getting to Sing His ‘Favorite Taylor Swift Song' With the Pop Star at a Bar

George Kittle won't be forgetting this year's Tight End University any time soon, especially because of the spontaneous duet he shared with Taylor Swift at a bar in Nashville during the event. While speaking to NBC Sports Bay Area & California's Matt Maiocco recently, the San Francisco 49ers star reflected on hanging out with the pop star at the NFL tight end summit — which he cohosts with Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen every year — in June. 'We have a fun Monday night welcome party at our hotel in Nashville for Tight End University,' he explained. 'Taylor and Travis came, and they were like, 'Hey, wanna go to Broadway?'' 'I was in the process of handing Claire and Taylor drinks for the night, and I was like, 'I just gotta tell her that 'Love Story' is one of my favorite songs, definitely my favorite Taylor Swift song,' he recalled. 'And as I was telling her, it came on the speakers, and I was like, 'I'm not going to miss this opportunity,'' Kittle continued. 'You don't get to sing 'Love Story' with Taylor Swift very often. It was just an absolute riot and something I'll probably remember forever.' Shortly after the event, Kittle shared a video on Instagram of himself and Swift jumping up and down while belting out 'Love Story' together. Kelce also makes a cameo in the clip. Tight End University took place over the course of three days in Music City, with many of the NFL's tight ends coming together from all over the country for group training and community-building activities at Vanderbilt University. In addition to attending the welcome party with Kelce, Swift showed up at the Tight Ends and Friends concert at the Brooklyn Bowl — where she surprised the crowd with an unscheduled performance of Billboard Hot 100-topper 'Shake It Off.' While later reflecting on the event on his New Heights podcast, Kelce revealed that his famous girlfriend's performance was entirely last-minute — as in, she didn't even practice before taking the stage with headliner Kane Brown and his band. 'Tay just kind of went up to [Brown] and the band and went, 'Hey, if you guys are down, I'll go up there, play a song and see if we can pop the roof off this place,'' Kelce reflected earlier in July. He added at the time, '[She] just went out there without practicing, and it was pitch-perfect.' Ellen DeGeneres Sends Rosie O'Donnell Unexpected 4-Word Message After Trump's Citizenship Threat

Ellen DeGeneres didn't let her history with fellow comedian Rosie O'Donnell affect her response after President Donald Trump 's shocking threat to take away O'Donnell's citizenship. The president reignited his long-running feud with O'Donnell over the weekend, calling her a 'threat to humanity' in a post on Truth Social. 'Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,' Trump wrote. 'She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!' O'Donnell responded to Trump in two separate Instagram posts, calling him a ' criminal con man ' who 'lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity.' 'You call me a threat to humanity – but I'm everything you fear,' O'Donnell wrote in a different post. 'A loud woman a queer woman a mother who tells the truth an american who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze you build walls – I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists.' While O'Donnell's fellow comedians and fans showed their support in the comments, DeGeneres' post, in particular, stood out. The comedian screenshotted Trump's post and O'Donnell's response, captioning her Instagram post, 'Good for you @rosie.' O'Donnell and DeGeneres have reportedly had a frosty relationship over the years, as DeGeneres once told Larry King back in 2004 that ' we're not really friends.' O'Donnell previously shared that the two had a good relationship prior to becoming famous, but later developed a bit of 'weirdness.' 'It became a strange, 'There can't be two lesbians in this town' kind of a thing,' O'Donnell told The Hollywood Reporter in 2023. 'Then we each had success and went separate ways.' In an interesting twist, both O'Donnell and DeGeneres moved abroad shortly after Trump was sworn in for his second term. O'Donnell lives in Dublin, Ireland, while DeGeneres settled in the Cotswolds in England. O'Donnell reacted to DeGeneres' move in an interview with US Weekly and said she was 'surprised to read that she left because of President Trump.' 'We're not really in each other's worlds, and it's been kind of awkward but you know what? I wish her the best,' O'Donnell said in the interview, published in April. 'I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK.'
