10 Classic Wedding Movies That No Bride-To-Be Should Miss

Buzz Feed13-06-2025
Whether you're planning your own big day or just daydreaming about it, these films are the ultimate pre-wedding mood boosters.
Honestly, this might even be the perfect movie marathon for your bachelorette party — comfy pajamas, snacks, and all the bridal drama you could ask for.
27 Dresses
The ultimate bridesmaid movie. Jane has been in 27 weddings — but will she ever get her own? This one is for the people-pleasers who secretly hope their turn is coming soon. Romantic, funny, and packed with gorgeous gowns.
Bride Wars
When your 'something borrowed' ends up being the spotlight, things can get intense. What starts as a dream wedding for two best friends quickly spirals into sabotage, spray tans, and cake disasters. It's the perfect over-the-top comedy to remind you that weddings are temporary — but friendship (hopefully) is forever.
My Best Friend's Wedding
A classic reminder that timing is everything. Julianne realizes she's in love with her best friend… just days before he marries someone else. It's messy, heartbreaking, hilarious — and gives us that iconic 'I Say a Little Prayer' scene.
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
Sure, it's not your traditional wedding movie — but it has everything: royal rules, awkward proposals, and a castle full of pressure. Princess Mia is suddenly expected to find a husband fast, and what follows is a charming mix of rebellion, romance, and tiara-worthy moments. Add Chris Pine to the mix, and it becomes the royal rom-com every bride-to-be deserves.
Father of the Bride
Whether you're the bride, the dad, or the person just trying to hold it all together, this movie hits home. It's sweet, nostalgic, and hilarious. Ideal for watching with your parents… or when you need a good cry about growing up.
Runaway Bride
Julia Roberts + wedding dresses + commitment issues = iconic. She's the queen of cold feet, but maybe she just hasn't found the right pair of shoes (or guy). A feel-good rom-com with a side of emotional discovery.
Mamma Mia!
One wedding. Three potential dads. Infinite ABBA bangers. This sun-soaked, chaotic, joyful movie will have you singing 'I Do, I Do, I Do' in no time. And honestly, who doesn't love seeing Meryl Streep dance through a Greek island in overalls? Bonus points if you watch it with your mom.
The Wedding Planner
J.Lo as a super-organized wedding planner who falls for the groom? Messy in the best way. It's got drama, early 2000s vibes, and Matthew McConaughey in peak rom-com mode. What's not to love?
Crazy Rich Asians
This movie delivers glam, family drama, and the most breathtaking wedding scene you've ever seen. It's lavish, emotional, and packed with stunning visuals. A must-watch for every bride dreaming of an extra sparkly 'I do.'
Made of Honor
Imagine realizing you're in love with your best friend — just in time to become her maid of honor. This one's full of awkward timing, romantic tension, and Scottish wedding vibes. A solid choice for fans of slow-burn rom-com drama.

Classic Novels First Lines Trivia — BuzzFeed Quizzes

If you've read literally anything I've posted before, this won't be a shock: I'm a huge bookworm. I read like the world's ending and have somehow converted half my community into fellow book nerds. My Indigo Plus (shoutout to Canadians) pays for itself by mid-January, and Goodreads is one of my most-used apps. And yes, while I fully support audiobooks — because sometimes a bitch needs to make dinner and power through a slow classic you feel morally obligated to read — I still can't get on board with e-readers. I either want the dramatic performance in my ears, or I need that paper-smell-in-the-face experience. No in-between. Whether you're word-obsessed like me or barely made it through this intro, it's time to test your classic lit knowledge. Let's start on page one, with the very first sentence... Here's a fun fact: Jane Austen published her novels anonymously, credited only as 'A Lady.' Even her own family didn't know she wrote Pride and Prejudice for a while. Pretty dope, honestly. I dream of anonymously dropping a bestseller, casually buying a house, and letting my family spiral into 'Did you win the lottery?' theories. Not that Jane could've done that — patriarchy and all — but secret fame? Kind of rock 'n' roll. I literally just got butterflies watching this GIF. I need to walk away and catch my breath. The chemistry is unbearable. And for more fun quizzes, make sure you follow BuzzFeed Canada on TikTok and Instagram!

Pop-up Soho bar requires diners to sing karaoke classics or leave hungry

Londoners will have the chance to bag a free dinner this month as a two-day karaoke club invites would-be performers to 'sing for their supper'. The Kiwioke Bar will open in Soho on August 20-21 and guests will have to take to the stage and belt out a karaoke classic with their tablemates before dining. Before starters arrive, diners are required to sing with their table mates, and only then will they be served their food. A similar scenario will unfold before main courses and desserts, though for these to arrive tables will be matched up to sing in bigger groups. No solos are allowed. Hits available to sing include numbers by Elton John, ABBA, The Killers and Lady Gaga. It's a savvy marketing stunt from the cider brand Old Mout, which has even brought in Kiss radio star Harriet Rose to host each evening. The nights are completely free, with microphones, neon lighting, dressing up boxes and more on offer too, not to mention 'unlimited' cider. On the menu, meanwhile, are dishes such as smoked chicken with mango and watercress salad, chilli and lime marinated flank steak, and grilled pineapples with cream. Don't expect the food to be top dollar. Then again, your singing is unlikely to be. There are still some tickets left for the early evening slot. After first UFC\u00a0win, Julius Walker wants to change walkout game – one ABBA song at a time

LAS VEGAS – Julius Walker met the media Saturday after his win over Rafael Cerqueira at UFC on ESPN 72. Walker (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) outworked Cerqueira (11-3 MMA, 0-3 UFC) for a unanimous decision to close out the prelims at the UFC Apex. It was his first win in the promotion after a split decision loss to Alonzo Menifield in his promotional debut earlier this year. That loss was his first as a pro, but it came with a silver lining in the form of a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus. Saturday, despite the win this time, Walker said he wasn't thrilled with the performance overall and found things to work on before his next fight. "I was able to get some good training in this camp, and we're only going to continue to step that up," Walker told MMA Junkie at his post-fight news conference. "… We were on the bottom rung, and now maybe I'm one rung from the bottom. I've got to improve and level up." But one area he thinks his game is locked in tight is his walkout song choice. At UFC on ESPN 72, he walked out to "Dancing Queen" by ABBA, which is a top-shelfer when it comes to songs that are decidedly not "tough." It's not what you'd expect a 6-foot-4 light heavyweight to walk out to, though. But there is method to Walker's madness, and he seems to appreciate the finer intricacies of the fight game – like walkout music. "I walked out to that in my debut and one or two of my regional fights. My last four fights now, I've wlaked out to ABBA songs. I walked out to 'Take a Chance on Me' for my last regional fight. It was actually a message to the UFC: 'take a chance on me,' and it worked. "I've been doing 'Dancing Queen' because here's the thing: At the end of the day, the walkout song is really for the crowd. Nobody wants to hear these tough-guy, gangster rap – nobody wants to hear that. (The fans) are trying to have a good time. Everybody's up there drinking, trying to have some fun. You've got to play a song like 'Dancing Queen' so you can get some jiving going and get the crowd having a good time. So we're probably going to stick with ABBA songs." Check out Walker's post-fight news conference in the video above.
