After a gruelling Test series against India which ended in 2-2 draw, England will shift their attention to the Ashes Down Under later this year and experienced pacer Chris Woakes has shared a major update on his shoulder injury. Woakes, who sustained a dislocated shoulder while fielding during the fifth Test against India earlier this month, believes he's recovering better than he anticipated. Speaking on the sidelines of The Hundred, the England quick made an appearance without an arm sling. "Certainly good news for me. That's the best way to look at it. Obviously out of the sling and feel like I can move it a lot better now which is good two weeks down the line," Woakes told Sky Sports. "I suppose once you get a little bit more movement into it, feels little bit more normal. But still a lot of work to do. Going to try and (stay) focused on the rehab and get it as strong as possible. Ideally not for surgery for now but we'll see how that goes and hopefully we can get it nice and strong again," he added. The 36-year-old Woakes had picked up a nasty injury on the opening day of the series decider against India at The Oval, London. Despite being ruled out of action for the remainder of the Test, Woakes walked out to bat with his left arm in a sling on a tense final morning as England chased a series-clinching victory, but fell short by six runs. After the series against India, Ben Stokes-led England have another five-Test series assignment against arch-rivals Australia, starting November 21.

Mysuru (Karnataka) [India], 14 August (ANI): The Bengaluru Blasters put aside the emotions from their previous game and played with panache, as they stormed past the Gulbarga Mystics with a five-wicket win here in the Shriram Capital Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, according to a release from Maharaja Trophy. Having won the toss at the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Stadium, the Bengaluru Blasters bowled with precision, striking from the get-go, before a brilliant last-wicket 45-run partnership gave the Gulbarga Mystics something to defend. Once the bowlers were done, LR Chethan took centre stage and guided the Bengaluru Blasters over the line in the 15th over of the chase. The Gulbarga Mystics were off to a quick start as Luvnith Sisodia smashed a couple of sixes off the very first over. That stung the Bengaluru Blasters, who roared back with three quick wickets before the end of the powerplay. Sisodia scored 13 off nine balls before Vidyadhar Patil castled him, after which Nikin Jose was dismissed for 1 by Naveen MG, and Prajwal Pavan added 2 to the cause before Mohsin Khan had his number. The Gulbarga Mystics were in a spot of bother and were looking to turn things around with Smaran Ravichandran (12 off 20 balls), who tried to absorb the pressure, but eventually walked back to the hut as Mohsin Khan accounted for him as well. In response, the Bengaluru Blasters, who have been in perfect batting form of late, started steadily, with openers LR Chethan and Rohan Patil looking good early on. The duo put on 16 in 3 overs before Vijaykumar Vyshak dismissed Patil for seven off nine that, it was the LR Chethan show through the rest of the power play. The right-handed batter took charge and scored freely. Chethan's counterattack meant the Bengaluru Blasters finished the powerplay with the score at 53/2. Bhuvan Raju, who had walked in at one-drop, scored 2 before Monish Reddy dismissed him. At this point, the Bengaluru Blasters, who had the momentum on their side, scored 22 runs of the sixth over. After that, the Gulbarga Mystics regrouped and struck, picking up crucial wickets.
