Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej or Akti, is a significant Hindu festival observed throughout the country. Celebrated on the third lunar day of the bright half of the month of Vaisakha, it is considered an auspicious day for beginning new ventures, buying gold, and making charitable donations.
Following the festival, gold demand in India is expected to remain strong despite the surge in prices, as buyers are drawn by the high returns seen over the past two years.

BJP Plans Mega Show Of Strength Ahead Of Vice Presidential Election
New Delhi: The BJP is planning a mega huddle of its top leaders and closest allies next week, in a major show of strength before the upcoming Vice-Presidential election. All MPs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have also been called for a Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday as the Parliament resumes for the second phase of the ongoing Monsoon session. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely address the MPs in the Parliament auditorium, sources said. While this second meeting of NDA MPs this Monsoon session appears to be routine, it assumes significance in the wake of the September 9 poll to elect the successor of Jagdeep Dhankhar. The former Vice President had resigned last month, citing his health, though his differences with the party had later emerged as a key indicator of his sudden decision. Besides the meeting of MPs, a mega huddle of top NDA leaders on the nomination day is expected to deliver a message of unity. This meeting will have all the Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and Deputy Chief Ministers in the NDA fold in attendance. Different sets of nomination papers will be prepared, in which the BJP's allies will also be made proposers and supporters. The BJP has also called a meeting of its Parliamentary Board, its highest decision-making body for the legislature, at the party's headquarters on Sunday evening, during which it is expected to decide on its nominee for the Vice-Presidential election. It will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by senior BJP leaders, including party chief JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. PM Modi and Mr Nadda have already been authorised to pick the NDA's candidate at a meeting on August 7. Since then, a series of meetings have been held to discuss the names of the potential candidates. Top sources within the BJP have indicated that the next Vice President will be from the ruling party; someone who is strongly associated with the ideology of the party and RSS - unlike in the case of Mr Dhankhar, who was chosen only to appeal to the Jat voters. Besides, it must also give a regional and social message. The NDA has also started working on a strategy to get maximum votes in the favour of its candidate. A three-day workshop is being organised in the Parliament House to train the MPs on how to vote for the Vice-Presidential election. The government's strategists will also contact the opposition and try to build a consensus, though this is just a formality since the opposition has made it clear that it will field its own candidate. The Vice-Presidential election offers the first big opportunity to test the ruling alliance's strength in its third term, with the opposition trying to corner the government on all major issues. The BJP now treads cautious waters as its majority now heavily depends on key allies Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janata Dal United (JDU), while the Opposition appears united over the voter list row and other key issues. The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which had earlier backed them in such elections, is unlikely to extend support after losing power to the BJP in Odisha.

'Want to Know if EC is Still an Independent Body, Elections Free and Fair': Kanimozhi
New Delhi: While the opposition has continued its protests demanding a discussion on the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar in parliament, the monsoon session is coming to a close with no end in sight to the stalemate between the opposition and government. The opposition's call for a discussion on the SIR has not been heeded to by the government, which has last week pushed ahead with legislative business and passed crucial Bills, including the new income tax Bills, and two Bills relating to sports governance: the National Sports Governance Bill and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill. In an interview with The Wire, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) parliamentary party leader and Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi said that the BJP-led Union government believes in 'pushing ahead' with bills and questioned why elected representatives could not discuss the electoral process in parliament. 'The government is not prepared to listen to us. I don't understand if the elected representatives of the people of this country cannot discuss the electoral process, then who else has the authority?' said Kanimozhi. While the government has said that the Election Commission is an independent constitutional body which cannot be discussed in parliament, Kanimozhi said that there is a need to know whether elections are still free and fair. 'I really want to know if the Election Commission is still an independent body. If it is, we don't have any problems. We want to know whether it is still an independent body and if elections are free and fair. That is why we need a discussion,' she said. With Tamil Nadu slated to go to the polls next year, the BJP is looking to make inroads in the southern state through cultural outreach efforts including Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple visit in July, highlighting the history of the Chola Kings and tying up with the AIADMK for the assembly elections. 'Tamil people are not blind to what the BJP is trying to do' The outreach comes amid the ongoing tussle between the Union government and the DMK government in the state over the implementation of the three language policy and NEP in the state. Meanwhile an archaeologist who had earlier overseen the excavation of an ancient civilisation in Tamil Nadu's Keezhadi, has been asked by the archaeological survey of India (ASI) to resubmit his report in a move. Tamil Nadu politicians have described the development as a bid by the the BJP-led centre to try to suppress information about the ancient Tamil civilisation that had flourished on the banks of the Vaigai river. 'Tamil people are not blind to what the BJP is trying to do. We understand that you don't care about our culture. You don't care about our language. You try to suppress us. You try to suppress the greatness of our culture. And before every election if you suddenly discover the Cholas or Rajendra Chola. It is not that the people will get fooled by that,' said Kanimozhi.

What's 'not hot' in tech jobs: Economist at America's largest jobs website tells tech roles to avoid
Once considered a booming sector, the technology industry is not facing a significant shift with increasing number of layoffs and hiring freezes. Now America's largest jobs website Indeed has issued a cautionary advice: not all tech roles are created equal in today's job market. Indeed has shared a dramatic downturn in tech job listings. In a recent study, the website highlight that while roles in artificial intelligence and machine learning remain in high demand, many traditional and entry-level positions are facing a cooling market. Brendon Bernard, a senior economist at Indeed suggests that multiple tech positions are losing steam and he asked the job seekers to reconsider their career strategies. The warning comes at a time when companies are prioritising efficiency, automation, and AI integration over traditional development-heavy roles. Job roles on the decline The job seeking website has flagged the position which are 'not hot' the positions include: Front-End Web Developers: With the rise of low-code platforms and design templates, demand for basic front-end skills is waning. QA Testers: Automated testing tools and AI-driven quality assurance are replacing manual testing roles. IT Support Specialists: Cloud-based systems and self-service troubleshooting have reduced the need for in-house support teams. Blockchain Developers: After the crypto crash and regulatory scrutiny, blockchain roles have seen a steep decline in demand. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Mystical Forest Vase: Hot Sale topgadgetlife Shop Now Undo Reason for the shift in the tech sector Bernard also pointed out the different factors responsible for driving this change. He feels that AI and automation are easily streaming the tasks which were earlier handled by a large team. On the other hand, remote work has also altered the infrastructure needs and has also reduced the demand for traditional IT roles. Moreover, economic pressures are also forcing the tech companies to move towards selective hiring and favour the roles that contribute more to the revenue or innovation. "While there isn't a smoking gun linking AI to the plunge, automation trends could be a reason the weakness persists," said Brendon Bernard. Job roles that are still hot While some of the tech job roles are cooling off, there are still some roles that are high in demand. The jobs roles for AI/ML Engineers, Cybersecurity Analysts, Cloud Architects and Data Scientists are very much in demand. These job roles completely alignwith the company's idea of intelligent systems, data-driven decision-making, and security-first architectures.
