After Clips Of Her Celebrating The Eagles' Win Went Viral, People Are Calling Out The "Unfair" And Misogynistic Backlash Over Travis Kecle's Ex, Kayla Nicole, Attending The Super Bowl
Overall, Sunday's Super Bowl was a pretty humiliating experience for Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs, facing a crushing defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. And if Travis's night wasn't rough enough already, it has since emerged that his ex-girlfriend was in the crowd watching the whole thing play out.
For context, Travis and Kayla Nicole started dating in 2017 but broke up for good in 2022. And though she may have spent years repping the Chiefs while she and Travis were together, Kayla was among those proudly supporting the Eagles in New Orleans on Sunday.
Videos that were shared on Instagram, which have since gained a lot of traction on X, show Kayla on the field celebrating the Eagles' victory.
One video, which shows Kayla blowing Eagles-colored confetti at the camera to the sound of Kendrick Lamar 's diss track, 'Not Like Us', is captioned: 'there's room on the wagon y'all.' In another clip, she can be seen talking with the Eagles head coach, Nick Sirianni.
But, despite Kayla simply enjoying the game, minding her business, and making no mention of Travis, a worrying amount of people online have taken issue with her presence — with many latching onto the narrative that she was there simply to spite her ex.
The widespread hate for Kayla online is nothing short of vicious — and if we're being frank, misogynistic — with posts calling her a ' miserable ' person and a ' loser ' garnering thousands of likes on X. Most absurdly of all, a post with over a quarter of a million likes also asks: 'how the hell did she get on the field,' which is where we need to set the record straight.
Though many people may only know her from her high-profile relationship, Kayla is a sports reporter with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. And, among other things, she makes content for the sports media brand I Am Athlete, which produces 'exclusive, behind-the-scenes content that celebrates the essence of sports, culture, food, and fashion.'
So, with this in mind, many fans online have quickly reminded the haters that Kayla wasn't there out of spite and pettiness. She was literally at work — and, where viral content is concerned, doing a great job, too!
The girl can't work now cause she dated an athlete that so happened to make it to the big annual sporting event she would be covering? So she has to stop her career because she may have to encounter an ex??? That's dumb.

Kayla works for the podcast for I Am Athlete media agency & Revolt Sports. She's been a sports media girly, has a college degree. She's literally working. The 'obsessive hating ex' narrative is becoming exhausting. She broke up with him. Let her live her life.

Misogyny is dangerous. The speed at which people jumped into the comments to disrespect this woman is alarming. She's a sports journalist, why wouldn't she be at one of the biggest sporting events of the year. https://t.co/I5rFWL9t2f

Among the comments in her defense, fans have pointed out that you can see that she's wearing what appears to be a press pass around her neck while she's on the field, and in one of the viral clips, she even gives a shoutout to the company she works for. So, yeah, do your research, folks.
Well, I am glad to see fans online correcting the narrative — particularly when Kayla has spoken openly in the past about ' the constant vitriol ' she's been at the receiving end of since Travis started dating Taylor Swift in 2023.
Keep doing your thing, Kayla!

Dog Who Only Knew 'Loving Home' Ends Up in Shelter Aged 12, Heartbroken
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Animal lovers responded in a massive way to a senior dog who had entered a rescue shelter through no fault of his own—and thanks to this enormous reaction, he has now found a loving new family. Rescue organization Many Tears Rescue shared a heartbreaking post to their Instagram account @manytearsrescue in May, showing photographs of an older dog who they said was 12 years old, had lost most of his sight and hearing, and had just come into their care. They asked followers to imagine "spending your whole life in a warm and loving home, only to find yourself getting surrendered" in your old age—and a staff member told Newsweek that their appeal for Zebadee led to him dozens of adoption applications. "This is the reality for our poor boy Zebadee," they wrote in the post. "He did nothing wrong and neither did his beloved owner—she was just 92 years old and could no longer give him the care he needed." Zebadee, who was given up to a shelter aged 12 in heartbreaking circumstances. Zebadee, who was given up to a shelter aged 12 in heartbreaking circumstances. Instagram @manytearsrescue They shared their plea to find Zebadee "the most perfect retirement home, where he can go back to being absolutely cherished and doted on." Admitting the old dog is "breaking all of our hearts," they described walking past his kennel as "truly soul destroying." "No dog deserves to live at a rescue, but for one that is 12 years old and has only ever known a home and love, it really is the worst possible place." Instagram users flooded the post with love, awarding it more than 12,500 likes, as one commenter called him a "beautiful boy", and another despaired: "Poor confused boy and heartbreaking for his owner who couldn't manage caring for her companion." "He deserves the best. What a sweetie pie, very heartbreaking to give up your fur baby," another wrote, as another agreed: "Gorgeous boy. His owner must have been absolutely devastated to let him go." And as another put it: "How desperately sad for both of them. Very courageous of his elderly owner to part with him to ensure he was delivered into caring and loving hands." The senior dog in photos taken at Many Tears Animal Rescue. The senior dog in photos taken at Many Tears Animal Rescue. Instagram @manytearsrescue Alongside photos of Zebadee receiving cuddles, curled up for a nap, and smiling at the camera, Many Tears Rescue said the old dog "doesn't ask for a lot, so please don't keep him waiting here for long." And the shelter—and Zebadee—got their wish, as just days later, the senior dog was adopted. A Many Tears spokesperson told Newsweek: "He got reserved the very next day after the post, so yes, it worked instantly! "He received over 30 applications from the post alone." And while they haven't heard from his new owners about how Zebadee is settling in, as they described it, "no news is good news. "We can always assume they're doing very well unless we hear otherwise—we tend not to contact owners unless necessary after they adopt." While it was a happy ending for Zebadee, many dogs closer to home aren't so lucky. In the US, millions of dogs enter shelters each year. In 2024, 5.8 million dogs and cats were admitted to shelters and rescues, while 4.2 million animals were adopted, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid comments on the team's innovation: 'Keep growing'
Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid comments on the team's innovation: 'Keep growing' During his press conference on Thursday, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid discussed the importance of staying innovative and unpredictable. "I think every coach would probably tell you that, but I think it's important that you keep growing," said Reid, "There are some lessons (that) you can learn out of that, and I told you before (that) I thought the attitude that they had coming out of that (Super Bowl LIX loss), I look for that. 'Are you going to take responsibility?' These guys took responsibility for it. That gives you an opportunity to improve – coaches and players. If you come in and start pointing the finger at each other, you can't grow, but these guys have done that and have had a great attitude this offseason." The Chiefs are consistently praised for their coaching staff's willingness to expand their playbooks and take calculated risks. Head coach Andy Reid's offense will have more opportunities to showcase its strengths, while Steve Spagnuolo's defensive vision for the unit is evolving. The offseason workout practices allow players to create and implement these new ideas.
