The man has been accused of allegedly spying and providing confidential information related to the army and the country with Pakistan or some other country
The Indian Army's Intelligence Unit has apprehended a man on charges of espionage in Shimla on Friday.
The suspect was held by Army near Shimla's Army Training Command (ARTRAC) on Friday. The army took him to different places and interrogated him.
After taking the suspect into custody, the army took him to different places and interrogated him. After interrogation, the army handed him over to the police. However, his identity has not been revealed yet.
The man has been accused of allegedly spying and providing confidential information related to the army and the country with Pakistan or some other country. However, concrete evidence is still being collected against the suspect.
According to sources, the suspect was staying in a hotel in the Himachal capital since May 28. He was allegedly asking the local people about the army.
Sources further revealed that the suspect is a native of Uttar Pradesh's Noida and hold a US citizenship.
During the interrogation, the suspect revealed that he works in a private company. He also told that his father was a colonel in the field military, sources added.
He also told that has traveled to 64 countries including Pakistan in 2005 and China in 2008.
SP Shimla confirmed the arrest and said that the army has handed over the youth and he is being interrogated.
Earlier this week, Kangra Police arrested a 20-year-old youth on suspicion of espionage following a tip-off.
The suspect, identified as Abhishek, a native of Dehra, was held just three kilometres away from Shri Mata Chintpurni Temple on Una-Kangra districts border.
The development comes as a series of revelations regarding Pakistani spy networks in India. Several Indians were arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan including a CRPF personnel Moti Ram Jat from Rajasthan, a contractual health worker Sahdevsinh Gohil posted in the border district of Kutch, a YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra from Haryana who has several lakhs of subscribers. She was arrested in Haryana this month. She had travelled to Pakistan a number of times.
Additionally, a Rajasthan government employee was detained in Jaisalmer on suspicion of espionage for Pakistan with sources saying he worked as an assistant to former Congress minister Shale Mohammad.
Shakur Khan, who works in the district employment office, was found to have phone numbers associated with Pakistan stored on his device, an official said.
Prior to this month's conflict, Pakistanis and Indians were able to travel to each other's countries, but it has long been very difficult to obtain visas due to government bureaucracy and historical mistrust.
The relations between India and Pakistan hit rock bottom after the neighbouring country resorted to a terror attack in Kashmir's iconic Pahalgam, killing 26 innocent tourists on April 22.
In response, India, on the intervening night of May 7 and 8, launched 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan and destroyed multiple terror targets there.

"Punjab CM now opposing Indian Army": Delhi Minister Sirsa slams Bhagwant Mann's remarks on Operation Sindoor
New Delhi [India], June 4 (ANI): Reacting to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's controversial remarks on Operation Sindoor, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday strongly condemned the statement and accused Mann of disrespecting the Indian Army. Speaking with ANI, Sirsa said, 'From hating and opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he started opposing the Indian Army and now he has come to such an extent that he is using such abusive words against the sisters and daughters of the country... I could never imagine that a Chief Minister could give such a statement. I strongly condemn this.' Earlier on Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stirred a controversy after he said that the BJP has turned 'Operation Sindoor' into a joke, asking whether this is a 'One nation, one husband' scheme. 'Did you not see the kind of fun made of Sindoor? What is this - one nation, one husband scheme?' CM Mann said. The statement drew swift and sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu taking the lead in condemning the remarks. In a self-made video, Bittu said that the country will not forgive Bhagwant Mann for the words he has used. 'The statements show how cheap and vile things the Aam Aadmi Party and their Chief Minister can say. The NDA government at the Centre has defeated Pakistan, and you are not able to tolerate it. Will you say anything to show that you stand with Pakistan? The country will not forgive you for the words you used against PM Modi today,' he said. BJP leader Fatehjung Singh Bajwa also slammed the Punjab CM, calling his remarks 'shameful.' 'This is very shameful. Comedians look good on stage, but Bhagwant Mann does not understand the value of the CM's chair. What kind of joke is this? ... I think it is shameful for the CM to joke about such a thing,' Bajwa said. On May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in which 26 people were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. After India's strike on terror infrastructure, Pakistan responded with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and the International Border, as well as attempted drone attacks targeting civilian areas along the border regions. In response, India neutralised Pakistani air defence apparatus, radar infrastructure, and communication centres, and inflicted heavy damage across 11 airbases in Pakistan. After this, on May 10, an understanding on the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced. (ANI)

Asim Munir turned against my wife after removal as spy agency chief: Imran Khan
Pakistan's incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan has spoken about the 'vindictive nature' of Army Chief Gen Asim Munir saying the field marshal turned against his wife, Bushra Bibi, after being removed from the post of director general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) by him.'As Prime Minister, when I removed General Asim Munir from the post of DG ISI, he sought to approach my wife Bushra Bibi through intermediaries to discuss the Bibi categorically declined, saying that she had no involvement with such affairs and would not meet him. It is General Asim Munir's vindictive nature that is behind Bushra Bibi's unjust 14-month incarceration and deplorable inhumane treatment in prison,' Khan said in a post on X on Monday. Further lambasting Gen Munir, Khan said: 'The way my wife has been targeted for personal vengeance is unprecedented. Even during Pakistan's darkest periods of dictatorship such a thing never happened.'She was accused of aiding and abetting, an allegation for which no proof has ever been presented, and she is arrested in one false case after another. She is a private citizen, a homemaker with no political involvement. I have not even been allowed to meet her in the past four weeks.''According to jail regulations, I was scheduled to meet her on June 1 but even that meeting was denied, in complete violation of court orders,' the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supremo, who has been in jail for nearly two years in multiple cases, said the events of May 9, 2023, in which military installations were targeted, were in fact a part of the 'London Plan'— the sole purpose of which was to 'eliminate Pakistan's largest political force, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf'.'Under this premeditated plan, I and several of my party leaders and workers were unlawfully imprisoned. Our democratic mandate was brazenly stolen, and corrupt individuals — Sharifs and Zardaris — were imposed upon the nation."We were subjected to relentless fascist oppression, our supporters were shot at, and baseless cases have been fabricated against us,' he said, lambasting the military-backed regime of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).Khan said that anti-terrorism courts and numerous judges are "complicit in this campaign of repression against his party".'Despite repeated demands, they refuse to summon or examine the stolen CCTV footage from May 9, 2023. Not a single judge has the courage to demand those tapes and deliver a verdict based on evidence. We are innocent. Our people are being sentenced without evidence and without the right to a fair trial. We will petition all courts to demand the release and review of that CCTV footage,' he called for the formation of a judicial commission to conduct a transparent investigation into the 'massacres (of unarmed pro-democracy protesters) of May 9 and November 26, 2024 in Islamabad'.advertisement'The judiciary in Pakistan has never been more disgraceful than it is today. In the past, there was Justice Munir, whose unjust decisions earned him global notoriety. Today, Justice Qazi Faez Isa is following in the same footsteps. The entire judicial system seems complicit, driven not by justice but by a desire to protect their own jobs and privileges,' he week, a Pakistani court sentenced 11 supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including a lawmaker, for violent protest in the capital on May 9, PTI workers had vandalised public property and attacked defence installations in the country on the day as they protested the arrest of the 72-year-old party has been incarcerated in Adiala Jail of Rawalpindi, the garrison city, since mid-2023 in connection with multiple Watch
