Aamir Khan's upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par is already grabbing all the headlines even before its release for all the right reasons. Earlier, in a conversation with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Sitaare Zameen Par director R.S. Prasanna opened up on casting Genelia Deshmukh in a key role in the film and revealed that it was Aamir Khan who suggested her name while discussing the female lead.
The director also revealed that the actor mentioned his close bond with Riteish Deshmukh, whom he met at a party alongside Genelia. During the gathering, Genelia expressed her desire to make a comeback to films in Aamir's presence.
Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par is all set to release on June 20, 2025. Besides Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, the film also stars Dolly Ahluwalia, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The superstar was last seen in 2022 film, Laal Singh Chaddha. 'Well, I'm not considering it a comeback film, quite honestly," Aamir told us exclusively. 'My films usually come out once in three years anyway. A lot of actors have 8 to 10 flops, but we don't call those comebacks, do we? I've had just one flop, and you're calling it a comeback? I haven't gone anywhere," he added. Aamir explained that he was drawn to Sitaare Zameen Par because its story felt like a natural continuation of the message delivered in his 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. 'The script felt like an extension of what we were trying to say in Taare. That film was about inclusion, about a child with a learning disability. But in Sitaare, the challenge is even greater. It deals with individuals who have intellectual disabilities—children on the autism spectrum, with Down syndrome—who are much more atypical compared to dyslexia. And what's even more beautiful is that this time, it's not the neurotypical person helping them, but the other way around. The neurodivergent kids help the coach. That's why I feel this film goes ten steps ahead in the same theme." Aamir added that the story resonated deeply with him, so much so that it felt like a 'spiritual sequel" to Taare Zameen Par, which is why the makers settled on the title Sitaare Zameen Par. US Open '25: DeChambeau's sand save an all-time memory at golf's most punishing major
It only feels right that the reigning titleholder at the golf championship that, at least in theory, anyone can win is the player who leans into the role of the sport's most relatable everyman, Bryson DeChambeau. And it only feels right that at the U.S. Open — a tournament built to humble and punish the best in the game as much as celebrate them — DeChambeau earned his title by hitting a shot that virtually no man can hit. A plaque now sits outside the bunker on the 18th hole at Pinehurst No. 2, enshrining the spot where DeChambeau placed his name in the history books with what he called 'the shot of my life' — a 55-yard blast from the sand to 4 feet with the trophy hanging in the balance on Sunday at last year's Open. Defense of the title begins Thursday at Oakmont, getting ready to host its record 10th U.S. Open and a course with a longtime reputation for being as difficult as they come. All of which seems to suit the 31-year-old pro golfer/social media star just fine. He recently surpassed 2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. He is making golf feel like everyman's sport, posting videos in which he makes a hole-in-one with a wedge shot over his house, plays with off-the-rack clubs to see how they stack up and tries to beat a scratch golfer while playing left-handed. All of it sounds nutty, but it all goes back to that piece of advice he offered when asked how to replicate the improbable under impossible circumstances — i.e., a 50-yard bunker shot with the U.S. Open on the line. 'Once you get a stock shot down and you're comfortable with it, go have some fun,' DeChambeau said. 'Do a chipping contest with your amateur friends and throw it in the bunker from 50 yards, or throw it in a bush and see if you can get out. Stuff to that extent has suited my game very well.'
