New 2025 Hyundai Venue To Launch On 24th October? Check What We Know So Far
Upcoming 2025 Hyundai Venue: Hyundai is gearing up to launch a new model in India on October 24, 2025. However, the company hasn't officially confirmed the name of the vehicle yet, but it is speculated to be the next-generation Hyundai Venue. It is expected to bring a fresh design and updated features, while keeping the current engine setup. So far, several spy shots and leaked videos have given us a glimpse of what's coming. The 2025 Venue will still carry its boxy SUV shape, but with major updates. Expect a revised rectangular front grille, new split headlamps, and a slightly tweaked bumper. Some spy images also hint at front parking sensors and an ADAS system. It might get newly designed 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, chunkier wheel arch cladding, updated roof rails and wing mirrors, and a longer rear spoiler, adding to its new look. The connected tail-lamps from the current model are likely to continue. Interior And Features (Expected) While there are no confirmed images of the cabin yet, the new Venue is likely to borrow a few premium touches from its bigger siblings, the Creta and Alcazar. Some expected features include a larger touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and ADAS safety tech. Engine Options Under the hood, nothing is expected to change. The 2025 Venue might continue with the same three engine options: -- 1.0L turbo petrol (120 bhp) -- 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol (83 bhp) -- 1.5L turbo diesel (100 bhp) Gearbox options will also likely remain the same, including 5-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT, and 6-speed torque converter units, depending on the engine. The current Hyundai Venue is priced between Rs 7.94 lakh and Rs 13.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the added features and updated design, the new Venue is likely to be a little more expensive than the current model.

General Motors, Hyundai to develop vehicles together amid China EV competition
General Motors and Hyundai Motor on Wednesday outlined plans to develop five vehicles together as they seek to lower costs amid growing competition from nimble Chinese rivals, although some analysts questioned whether the plan would work. Four of the vehicles - a compact SUV/car/pickup, and a mid-size pickup - are targeted for launch in Central and South America in 2028 and support both internal combustion and hybrid powertrains. GM and Hyundai did not say where the models would be produced, but said they expected to be rolling out at least 800,000 vehicles a year at full production. The partnership will help GM and Hyundai battle growing competition from Chinese EV manufacturers in Latin America. But some questioned whether it would create meaningful synergies. "Even if they sell those new models in South America, it's hard to beat Chinese competitors which already are leading in the electric-vehicle market with low prices," said An Hyung-jin, chief investment officer at Seoul-based hedge fund Billionfold Asset Management. "Hyundai might be able to learn from GM about how to build pickup trucks, but it would take some time to generate earnings," he added. The two global automakers will also co-develop and produce an electric commercial van in the United States as early as 2028. "The partnership itself is a win-win strategy, since GM can learn the hybrid technology from Hyundai while Hyundai can use the relationship with GM as leverage for trade negotiations with the United States," said Teddi Kim, head of auto research firm Mirae-Mobility Research & Services. The United States and South Korea last week reached a trade agreement for a 15 per cent tariff on U.S. imports from South Korea, including vehicles. Shares in Hyundai Motor rose 0.7 per cent, against the wider market's 0.5 per cent gain. The deal is among several announced between a South Korean company and a U.S. firm in recent weeks, following Samsung Electronics' chip deal with Tesla and Apple, and LG Energy Solution's battery deal with Tesla. Reuters in March reported that Hyundai and GM were nearing a deal to share two commercial electric vans and pickup trucks. This is the first major partnership for vehicle development for Hyundai Motor. GM has been unwinding several projects with Japan's Honda over the past decade. In 2023, the two companies scrapped a $5 billion plan to jointly develop affordable electric vehicles. Chinese carmakers have released several high-tech, low-cost models, putting pressure on legacy rivals such as GM to slash expenses and streamline manufacturing processes. To compete with these rivals, many have explored partnerships as a way to share development costs, especially for battery-powered models. Cutting costs is even more pressing as tariffs have added billions of dollars in expenses for automakers around the globe.

Saudi Arabia's NEOM holds successful trial of Hydrogen-powered bus
South Korean automaker Hyundai has successfully carried out the trial of a hydrogen-powered bus service in NEOM, the futuristic city under development in northwest Saudi Arabia. According to Hyundai, this was the first time a hydrogen-powered vehicle was deployed in the high-altitude mountain topography of Trojena within NEOM. The trial was carried out using a Hyundai UNIVERSE Fuel Cell bus, which operated successfully at elevations up to 2,080 meters in Trojena. NEOM and Hyundai Motor Group had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in September 2024 to bring next-generation zero-emission mobility solutions to one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects undertaken anywhere in the world. Announced by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in 2017, NEOM is located in the Tabuk Province of Saudi Arabia. NEOM was part of MBS's Saudi Vision 2030, an ambitious plan to diversify the kingdom's oil-dependent economy to a global tourism, tech, and trade hub. Once completed, NEOM will be home to several attractions, including Trojena, the first outdoor ski resort in the Gulf region, aiming to be a year-round adventure hub. NEOM will also have a luxury island, Sindalah, covering a total area of 9 million sq ft, which is designed to be a superyacht destination in the Middle East. However, the most talked about and controversial part of NEOM remains 'The Line', a linear smart city which is 170 km long, 500 meters tall, and only 200 meters wide. The Line has been described as a car-free, carbon-neutral, smart city powered by renewable energy, housing 9 million people. Though NEOM was part of MBS's Saudi Vision 2030, the construction has been delayed multiple times, and many believe that the megaproject won't be completed in 2030. NEOM has also suffered cost overruns from the initial estimate of $500 billion to $8.8 trillion, making many question the viability of the entire project.
