Patrick Kielty 'in dark place' if fears over Cat Deeley moving back to US come true

Daily Recorda day ago
Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley announced this week they are to split after 13 years of marriage
Insiders have expressed concern that Patrick Kielty could be "in a very dark place" if his ex-wife Cat Deeley decides to return to the US with their children.

The couple, who were married for 13 years, announced their separation this week, causing shockwaves and concern among their close circles.

Residents in Dundrum, County Down - Patrick's hometown - have voiced their worry for the 54 year old star, who tied the knot with Cat in Rome back in September 2012.

Those close to Patrick, father of two children with Cat, fear he would be heartbroken if his former spouse returns to the US, where they previously resided.
An insider revealed: "Everyone is worried about Paddy. The fear is that Cat will go back to America with the little ones. That will leave him in a very dark place," reports the Mirror.

Cat took over presenting duties on ITV's This Morning last year alongside Ben Shephard, following the departures of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
However, since confirming her split from Patrick, it has come to light that 48 year old Cat found the transition back to the UK challenging.
There are growing concerns that Cat, who began her career hosting SMTV Live on Saturday mornings, might quit her role at ITV and head back to the US.

Television insiders told Mail Online: "Cat's time on This Morning has not been a failure, but it has hardly been a roaring success.
"It is a job which puts her under so much scrutiny, day-in and day-out, and unlike most British presenters she has plenty more lucrative options to choose from in the States... there is concern that all of this family drama could lead her to walk away."

Cat and Patrick, a comedian and TV host, resided in Los Angeles for over 14 years, where Cat hosted the reality TV show, So You Think You Can Dance. They returned to the UK and Cat promptly began on This Morning, believed to be one of several ITV daytime shows facing budget cuts.
The broadcaster recently unveiled plans for a revamp, including reducing Lorraine by 30 minutes and discontinuing it entirely during school holidays from January. It's thought that This Morning will relocate from its White City base in west London to a smaller, less expensive studio in central London.
Cat has been candid about her struggles adjusting to the 5am starts for the four days a week she presents This Morning, revealing that it resulted in her and Patrick sleeping in separate beds most nights.

Last September, Patrick, who presents The Late Late Show which is recorded in Dublin, dismissed suggestions that the couple were finding it hard to make time for each other.
Patrick and Cat announced their split in a joint statement to the PA News agency which read: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected."

Love Island ‘winners' revealed ahead of least loved-up final EVER as survey tells all about why viewers keep tuning in

LOVE Island hosts its least loved-up final ever tonight – with no official couples up for the crown. Three of the four contenders are 'exclusively dating', but none has said, 'I love you' or officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. 6 6 6 It would seem, though, that this is exactly how viewers like it. Our exclusive poll of readers found that just five per cent of you watch the show 'for love' — and the rest tune in for the 'drama'. Some 51 per cent said they are drawn by explosive scenes, while 44 per cent said they want a mix. And TV ratings suggest the show is enjoying a revival, with viewing figures surging back towards 2022 levels, when winners Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti set our screens alight with drama. An average 2.7million tune in to watch each Love Island episode, and the current series has reached 145million streams on ITVX. So what drama has seen viewers fall back in love with the ITV2 dating show this series? Explosive love triangles have kept fans on the edge of their seats, with gold trader and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley flip-flopping between two girls, Shakira Khan and Helena Ford. Another footie star to play the field is Harrison Solomon, stringing along Toni Laites and Lauren Wood. Meanwhile, personal trainer Dejon Williams continually pushed the boundaries with Meg Moore to flirt with other bombshells. The girls were at it too, though, as Toni dabbled with Cach Mercer and Harrison, while Yasmin Pettet caught the attention of a number of the lads before she found Jamie Rhodes in Casa Amor. And there was savage bullying among the girls, notably from Meg. Some of the toxic behaviour prompted Women's Aid to raise concerns over the men 'lying, manipulating and covering for each other', branding it misogyny. Many viewers complained about the show to Ofcom, including eight per cent of readers in our poll. Some 29 per cent said they wanted to log a concern but didn't. You exposed Harry as the villain of the series, with 32 per cent of the vote, followed by Meg on 22 and Harrison on 15 per cent. An uptick in the amount of sex screened by producers also boosted the drama, with 22 per cent of readers saying the raunchy scenes made the show more interesting. Tonight's finalists are Yasmin and Jamie; Toni and Cach; Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood, who are all 'exclusive'; and Harry and Shakira. Sun readers have hailed Yasmin and Jamie their winners with 28 per cent of the vote, followed by Toni and Cach on 18.9 per cent and Shakira and Harry a whisker behind with 18.7 per cent. 'Something real' Some 27 per cent think Yasmin and Jamie will last on the outside. Conor Phillips and Megan Clarke were axed during Friday's episode, then Meg and Dejon left last night. Our poll was done while all five couples were still in the villa. During their final dates of this series, Yasmin told Jamie: 'When I met you, the waters just seemed to calm', while Jamie confessed: 'I feel like this is something real.' 6 6 6 Toni told Cach she felt 'taken care of'. He gifted her a necklace and asked her to be exclusive. Ty gushed to Angel: 'My feelings are growing for you every day', while she admitted: 'I've got feelings for you. I like it.' And Harry gave Shakira a necklace and a turtle pendant, her favourite animal. Maya Jama hosts tonight's final live from the villa. Some 60 per cent backed her as host, but 16 per cent felt she had 'clocked out'. Love Island final tonight, 9pm, ITV2. BULLIES MUST STOP By FELICITY CROSS EVEN in the 1800s, Jane Austen knew the path to true love should never run smooth. Who wants a happy ever after just five minutes in? It's clear Love Island bosses agree and, when launching this summer's series at the TV villa, executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter told me to expect more twists, turns and drama than ever before. The decision made for must-watch telly and long-dormant WhatsApp groups have come alive, with my fortysomething friends once more desperate for all my Love Island gossip. But there's also been some truly horrible behaviour, with some of the lads treating the girls appallingly. Can we make love without war? It's a balance PR-savvy ITV will need to find next year if the show is to survive.

Love Island fans horrified by 'disgusting sex scenes' between Meg and Dejon

ITV viewers have slammed steamy bedroom scenes of Megan and Dejon tonight as 'disgusting' and 'too much' after they kissed and made up following their latest spat Love Island viewers have been left horrified by some very raunchy bedroom scenes between official couple Meg and Dejon tonight. ‌ After kissing and making up following their huge spat after date night, Meg and Dejon were filmed getting hot and steamy under the blankets, but viewers were less than impressed as they called the scenes 'disgusting'. ‌ Taking to X, horrified fans shared their stern opinions on the villa's least favourite couple this season. It comes after it was revealed that one couple will be ordered to leave the villa just hours before the big ITV final. ‌ "Every time love island shows meg & dejon getting busy under the sheets an angel loses its wings," one viewer quipped. Another echoed: "Seriously mug and mustard need to chill it in the bedroom. idk how the others do it. I understand its love island blah blah blah. but like you CAN feel uncomfortable when someone is doing the tango in the same room as you." "Six minutes into today's episode and Dejon has mentioned the fact he's on Love Island and Meg has said 'but we're boyfriend and girlfriend now.' Get them out. WHY ALWAYS WITH THE BLOODY SEX SCENES TOO," another viewer raged. ‌ Someone else quipped: "OMG!! That was literally like soft porn. Why do we need to see this. Nobody needs to see Meg doing the business." As we get ready for the semi-final of one of the most dramatic series of Love Island yet, two more islanders will be brutally dumped from the villa as they get voted off by their former friends and foes, who aren't holding back. One couple won't be making it to the final of the show, as ITV 's latest teaser revealed a dramatic scene showing all the former islanders returning to the iconic villa one last time to make a huge decision. ‌ ITV took to Instagram to share the short clip from Sunday evening's episode, along with the caption: "First look! Ex-Islanders return for a savage dumping, and they're not holding back." Maya Jama appears to have returned to Mallorca one last time as she gets ready for the final and is seen entering the villa to announce the latest twist. ‌ After a dramatic slow-motion walk into the villa, the presenter announces: "Hello, hello, hello. Are you alright my loves? How was the dates? Are you all loved up? Well I have some very important news. Can you come and join me on the lawn?" The remaining islanders are Yas and Jamie, Cach and Toni, Harry and Shakira, Ty and Angel and Meg and Dejon. Maya informs them: "Well today, one more couple will be dumped from the Love Island villa and that decision will be made by some very familiar faces." The returning islanders included Sophie Lee, who entered at the start of the series and was the first to be dumped on day two. Viewers will also see the return of Tommy, who was previously one of the favourites to win the show but was dumped by Shakira. ‌ The latest teaser sent fans into a frenzy with many of them predicting who will be the couple dumped. One viewer commented: 'Sorry, but after Thursday and Friday, it's gotta be Meg and Dejon. Their time is up', while another added: 'Harry & Shakira.. your time is up!' A third shared their thoughts and wrote: 'For all the years of watching Love Island, it's my first time feeling this nervous about the finals. I swear my anxiety level is through the roof'. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

As she faced the prospect of being convincted for the crime, Lady Leshurr, whose real name is Melesha O'Garro, lost out on all of her income. Her record deal disappeared and both the BBC and ITV dropped her from their payroll but as the star prepares to make a TV comeback on Celebrity SAS after being acquitted of the crime she was accused of, The Sun takes a look back at her rise to the top and her sudden fall from grace. Musical Beginnings 9 The star was achieving tens of millions of views on her rap hits in the late 2010s Credit: Alamy Lady Leshurr began to make waves on the Birmingham underground music scene with her rap tracks in the early 2010s. She began to release mixtapes that caught the attention of music heavyweights as her following began to grow. However, it wasn't until 2015 when she gained mainstream recognition with her Queen's Speech freestyles. The tracks were a unique look on UK rap music and often featured comedic phrases and humorous lines and saw Leshurr rack up tens of millions of views. The fourth instalment of the franchise became her biggest hit after going viral within 24 hours of its release and it saw the star land a major record deal with Sony Music. She went on to release her first official single with Wiley which became an instant hit and she soon picked up the MOBO Award for Best Female Act and toured with Nicki Minaj. TV Superstar 9 The star was a popular Loose Women panellist Credit: ITV Off the back of her rising star power, she caught the attention of the TV world and she soon found her diary was filling up with countless big-money offers to join a slew of different shows. Lady Leshurr is crowned as the winner of The Celebrity Circle for Stand Up To Cancer She took part in the BBC's Celebrity MasterChef in 2020 as well as joining ITV's Maya Jama led panel show, Don't Hate The Playaz, for four series. At the same time, she was handed a prestigious contract to become the face of beauty brand Olay, following in the footsteps of Twiggy and Sarah Hyland. In 2021 she was crowned the winner of Channel 4's only edition of The Celebrity Circle in which she catfished as rapper Big Narstie to win the title beating stars including Denise Van Outen, Duncan James, Charlotte Crosby and Saffron Barker. The BBC then hand-picked her to host her own music show on BBC Radio 1Xtra presenting on Saturday afternoons as well as choosing her to be a music mentor on its latest talent show Rock Till We Drop alongside Spandau Ballet legend, Martin Kemp. Desperate for a piece of the action, ITV booked the star to take part in Dancing on Ice and soon handed her a spot on the Loose Women panel. Star Arrested 9 The star was led away by cops after being accused of an early house assault Whilst she appeared to have every dream gig under the sun, and with the promise of brand new music on the way, Lady Leshurr found her world and career turned upside down when she was arrested for assault. In October 2022, the rapper and songwriter was seen being led away by cops in handcuffs at 5am following a fight outside a house in Walthamstow, East London. Witnesses said neighbours were woken up by a 'a screaming match' between Lady Leshurr and two other women. Cops said a 27-year-old woman was found with injuries but did not need hospital treatment. Video footage released at the time showed the rapper, dressed in a white sports bra and wearing a baseball cap, being put in cuffs and led to a police van by two cops. She was charged a day later on two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The star soon found herself axed from both her BBC Radio 1Xtra show and Loose Women as well as having her social media endorsements pulled and no backing in the furthering of her music career. Trial Hell 9 The star lost out on all career opportunities during her trial Credit: BBC A court went on to be told how Lady Leshurr had been accused of attacking her ex-partner Sidnee Hussein as well as Chante Boyea. However, a judge later cleared her and found her not guilty on two counts of assault. She told the court Chante had attacked her first before instructing her her Belgian Malinois security dog Toby as a "weapon" to injure her. Following the conclusion of the trial, the star spoke out on Instagram to confirm she had not made a single penny since being dropped from every work obligation she had been signed up to do. She said: "For the past year I've been battling a court case from people that accused me of stalking, harassing, and biting them but I was the victim. "I was attacked and bitten by a dog and made out to be the aggressor." She also stressed she felt her career had been "ruined regardless of the outcome". SAS Return 9 She is now hoping to prove herself on SAS Credit: Pete Dadds / Channel 4 Almost two years on from the judge's ruling, the star is now making a comeback on Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Discussing why she signed up for the show, she said: 'I think this course is not only going to make me become the best version of myself, but it's going to make me the strongest I've ever been. "It's going to make me realise so much about myself that I've kept in. It's going to push, motivate and inspire me. It's really going to make or break me. "But regardless, it's going to teach me a lesson about myself that I can definitely work on.' 'Doing this course is going to make me regain my strength, my understanding, who I am as a person and just unpack all the trauma that is on my chest… "I'm hoping to leave this course feeling empowered, feeling the strongest I've ever felt, a beast. I want to walk into the gym the next day, like I own this place.'
