Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee Condemns Israel's Plan for Full Military Control Over Gaza

Mohamed Mandour
A ministerial committee representing more than two dozen Arab and Islamic nations issued a joint statement Saturday strongly condemning Israel's announcement that it intends to impose full military control over the Gaza Strip, calling the move a 'dangerous and unacceptable escalation' and a 'flagrant violation of international law.'
The committee — mandated by the Joint Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit and comprising Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Nigeria, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, the League of Arab States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and additional states from Asia and Africa — warned that Israel's declared plan seeks to entrench its 'illegal occupation' and impose a fait accompli by force.
The statement accused Israel of committing 'grave violations' in Gaza, including killing and starvation, forced displacement, land annexation, and 'settler terrorism,' which it said may amount to crimes against humanity. Such actions, the group said, destroy any chance for peace, undermine de-escalation efforts, and deepen what it described as a nearly two-year blockade and military aggression affecting all aspects of life in Gaza, alongside serious violations in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The committee called for an immediate end to Israel's military campaign, the unhindered delivery of large-scale humanitarian aid — including food, medicine, and fuel — and the protection of relief agencies' operations. It voiced support for mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States aimed at securing a ceasefire and a prisoner-hostage exchange, and urged rapid implementation of an Arab-Islamic reconstruction plan for Gaza, with an international conference set to convene in Cairo.
The statement also rejected any attempt to displace Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and reaffirmed the need to preserve the legal and historical status quo at Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem under Hashemite Custodianship.
The committee stressed that a just and lasting peace can only be achieved through the two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital. It held Israel 'fully responsible' for what it called 'ongoing genocide' and urged the international community, particularly the U.N. Security Council's permanent members, to act urgently to halt Israel's 'illegal aggressive policies' and ensure accountability for violations of international law.

Over 30 countries condemn Netanyahu's ‘Greater Israel' statements

A joint statement on Friday issued by the foreign ministers of 31 Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the secretaries-general of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements regarding his vision for 'Greater Israel.' The joint Arab-Islamic statement said that Netanyahu's statements are a direct threat to Arab national security, state sovereignty, and international security and peace. It further constitutes a gross disregard and blatant violation for the rules of international law and the foundations of international relations. Israel's reliance on ideological and racist illusions threatens to fuel the conflict and threatens regional and international security, the statement warned. It emphasized that Arab and Islamic countries will take all measures to promote peace while respecting international legitimacy and the UN Charter. The statement also utterly condemned approval by Israeli Minister Bezalel Smotrich for the settlement plan in the E1 area and his 'extremist racist' statements rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state. The ministers' statement also said that 'Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory,' stressing their absolute rejection and condemnation of this settlement plan and all illegal Israeli measures. The statement stressed that this constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution #2334, which condemns all Israeli settlement activities aimed at changing the demographic composition, character, and legal status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Palestine. The ministers reaffirmed the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice, which emphasized the illegality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory and the need to end it immediately, eliminate its effects, and provide compensation for its damages. Condemning genocide They also warned against the danger of Israel's expansionist intentions aimed at annexing Palestinian territories and the Israeli government's continued settler policy in the occupied West Bank. 'We reject and condemn the crimes of Israeli aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing. We call on the international community to pressure Israel to halt its aggression and withdraw from Gaza Strip in preparation for reconstruction,' the statement reads. It emphasized the need for the State of Palestine to assume governance responsibilities in Gaza Strip, as well as the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, with Arab and international support under the framework of the political program of the Palestine Liberation Organization – the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people – and the policy of one system, one law, and one legitimate weapon. The ministers called on the international community, particularly the permanent members of the Security Council, particularly the US, to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and take immediate action to compel Israel to halt its ongoing aggression against Gaza Strip and its dangerous escalation within the occupied West Bank. Several of the foreign ministers who signed the statement represented the following countries: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Morocco, Algeria, Chad, Bangladesh, the Union of the Comoros, Djibouti, Gambia, Indonesia, Libya, the Maldives, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Republic of Somalia, Sudan, Turkey, and Yemen, in addition to the Secretary-General of the Arab League, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

Sudan Inks $1.5B Defense Deal with Pakistan

Yara Sameh Lieutenant General Pilot Al-Tahir Mohamed Al-Awad Al-Amin, Commander of the Sudanese Air Force, accompanied by the Commander of Air Defense and members of the Sudanese Defense Industries Organization, paid an official visit to Pakistan. During the visit, the Sudanese delegation held meetings with the Pakistani Minister of Defense, the Commander of the Pakistani Air Force, and a number of senior military officials. Media outlets reported that the discussions resulted in the signing of a massive defense contract with a value of over $1.5 billion between the Sudanese defense industries and the Pakistani side. The deal covers: • 10 K-8 Karakorum trainer/light attack aircraft • 20 Shahpar-2 UAVs • 150 YIHA-III UAVs • 50 MR-10K UAVs • 50 Ababeel-5 UAVs • Engines for MiG-21 fighter jets • 150 ASV Mohafiz armored vehicles • HQ-9 and HQ-6 air defense systems The reports indicate that the contract may be financed by a third party due to its size, reflecting the Sudanese army's adherence to a military solution to the regional conflict and the lack of progress towards negotiations. On the other hand, observers believe that the growing defense cooperation between Sudan and Pakistan comes within a broader regional context witnessing strengthening defense relations between Pakistan and Turkey, a prominent ally of the Sudanese army. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated
