(WJET/WFXP)– Nine blocks of Pittsburgh Avenue will be temporarily closed again this week as crews make some needed repairs to the area.
Drivers should plan accordingly for Pittsburgh Avenue to be closed from West 23rd to West 32nd Street on Thursday, May 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
EMTA, EDP announce plans for 14th Fest 2025
Crews from Erie Water Works will be in the area again to make some restorations to the street after recent water main breaks.
Drivers should avoid the area if possible until the work is done and expect delays in traffic.

St. Nick's Grove hosts Food ‘N Cruze event

It was a celebration of community and cars in Millcreek Township Tuesday night. Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church is hosting their annual Food 'N Cruze events at St. Nick's Grove. Each one draws about 120-140 vehicles and at least 400 people. EMTA, Erie Downtown Partnership work together to host annual 14th Fest The church has held Food 'N Cruze every Tuesday in June for the past six years. It supports the church and various charities and continues the original purpose of the property. NAMI to host movie night at UPMC Park this Friday 'Our founders in the '30's bought this grove and used the grove for the community to let them know that we're in the community and to share it with everybody,' said Jim DeHaven, co-chair of Food 'N Cruze. High-tech advanced manufacturing center partners with ACC to unveil Tesla program

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A new high-tech manufacturing center completed construction in east Austin. The Hayes Innovation Center for Advanced Manufacturing (HICAM) is a 52,000-square-foot facility aimed at fostering modern innovation and increasing workforce development in manufacturing. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: High-tech advanced manufacturing center setting up in east Austin HICAM is the economic and workforce development nonprofit behind the project. The facility will serve as a co-working space for startups. HICAM Executive Director Marcus Metzger said they'll provide companies with the equipment to develop their technology in its early stages. The organization announced a partnership with Austin Community College (ACC) to expand the advanced manufacturing workforce training opportunities in the region. HICAM will help expand ACC's Core Automation and Semiconductor (CAST) program. ACC will deliver a tailored curriculum at HICAM's newly completed facility, which is near Tesla's Gigafactory. 'This premier training initiative equips students with the skills most in demand by the region's growing manufacturing and semiconductor industries,' a press release said. The HICAM facility has industrial space, machinery and dedicated areas for prototype development and testing. Along with the CAST program, ACC's Engineering Development Program (EDP) will also train at the location. According to a news release, the program provides customized training for Tesla employees.
