'Denise Welch made me buy this £49 M&S jacket that's perfect for summer layering'

The Loose Women panellist is best known for her acting and presenting roles, but one of her recent outfits cemented her name on the list of daytime TV fashion icons If you'd asked me last month to name my daytime fashion inspirations, I'd likely have reeled off the usual suspects - Frankie Bridge, Cat Deeley or Rochelle Humes. Denise Welch probably wouldn't have been the first name that comes to mind, but appearing on a June episode of Loose Women, the actress was seen sporting a piece that I instantly had to track down. The 67-year-old donned the Pure Cotton Striped Tie Front Shacket from M&S's Per Una collection, which happens to be under £50. When I checked online for stock, it had completely sold out, but luckily I managed to get my hands on it in store. Lucky for shoppers, it's since been restocked and is available in most sizes. Now, I really dislike the word shacket. It gives me the same visceral reaction others get to words like 'moist'. However, while the word once triggered fashion fatigue, it really is the best way to describe this blouse-come-layering-piece. Priced at £49.50, the lightweight jacket is made from 100% cotton in an oversized, boxy fit. It's lightweight enough to be worn alone as a blouse, but heavy enough to wear as a jacket without it being flimsy. It boasts long sleeves and a collared V-neckline, complete with three tie front closures for an on-trend look. This design detail is one that won't be going out of style anytime soon, either, which means shoppers can wear it year-round. However, not everyone has been a fan of the trend. On the M&S jacket, one shopper commented: 'Who needs such fussy ties to close this top? This season seems full of them.' That said, others have left five star reviews, complimenting the shacket's 'good quality' and 'comfortable' feel. One wrote: 'The item was made of good quality fabric with an unusual closure but it was large. I usually take 18/20 and even the 16 was loose.' Another said: 'Great quality and design, comfortable to wear was a little unsure as shacket as have purchased one before and not altogether sold on these as really was not one thing or another but I would say this is a heavy denim shirt and a good spring top very intend with the tie front.' If the M&S tie-front shacket has whet your appetite for a new denim staple, but isn't quite for you, Boden's Denim Frill Collar Jacket costs £119 and is channeling Parisian vibes. The feminine ruffles are a dreamy touch that set it apart from other denim pieces on the high street. Alternatively, this ASOS DESIGN denim rugby top is on sale from £36 to £23.50. It has that same revere collar silhouette, but is ideal for wearing solo, accessorised with a satin neck tie. As for the M&S jacket, I paired it with the matching pinstripe jeans, however, I was a little bit let down by them. The quality and cut were spot on, but they appear to be a touch lighter than the top, and while most people wouldn't notice, it does bug me a little bit. It doesn't matter when wearing them as separates, but when opting for the full co-ord look, it would have been better if they were exactly the same shade. Another slight downside about the top is that the ties do occasionally need tightening throughout the day, but that's a minor inconvenience and wouldn't stop me from wearing it - especially considering how many compliments it's earned me. So while Denise Welch being a style icon may not have been on my 2025 bingo card, I must give credit where it's due because I haven't been able to stop wearing this jacket since I bought it. It's currently available in sizes 8-22 online, though some additional sizes could be found in store. It is roomy, so if you enjoy an oversized fit, I'd go for your usual size, but for a snugger silhouette, many will be able to afford sizing down.

Christine Lampard wore the perfect 'no iron' dress on Loose Women

The Phase Eight frock is a gorgeous piece for summer, designed for all-day comfort in this year's most popular colour If there's one thing we know for certain, it's that Christine Lampard's outfits never fail to leave us swooning. And her latest Loose Women outfit is no exception, with the presenter looking summer-ready in the 'it-colour' of the season. Brightening up our screens on Monday morning, the brunette beauty anchored the lunchtime show in a Phase Eight frock - a brand popular with presenters like Lorraine Kelly and Susanna Reid. The 46-year-old wore the Cady Buttermilk dress in a trending, soft pale yellow hue, which is undeniably one of the most popular shades on the high street this summer. The dress comes in at £119 and is perfect not just for occasions like graduations, weddings or the races, but also for holidays and weekends, too. It's ideal for the warm weather, made from 100% cotton for a light and airy feel, while the sleeveless design makes it breathable to prevent overheating. Made from a lightweight seersucker fabric, it requires little ironing, making it a great pick for the suitcase. And the shirred bodice and waist means it hugs the figure, but remains comfortable all day thanks to its stretchy nature. The dress comes in sizes 6 to 20 and looks to be selling quickly - no doubt that will be accelerated by Christine's endorsement of the summery number. The only thing we think it's missing is some side seam pockets, which would have been the icing on the cake. Elsewhere comes in at £65. It has a soft, fitted top and flows to a light, airy skirt, complete with bra-friendly straps and side pockets. Alternatively, this ASOS DESIGN summer maxi dress with full skirt in lemon comes in at £28. Dropped waists are also trending this summer, and this purse-friendly pick ticks several style boxes for summer. For another celebrity favourite, though, last week Cat Deeley wore Boden's Halter Linen Dress, which comes in at £146. Made in an 80% breathable linen fabric with a hint of recycled cotton, it's finished with a smocked back panel for a little extra give. And the Phase Eight dress isn't the only of Christine's recent looks we've been coveting. Last week, she wore the Pleated Corset Sleeveless Dress from Michelle Keegan's Very collection, which is currently on sale down from £70 to £56 saving £14. The structured shape and soft white colour were a great nod to the Wimbledon whites trend that's still dominating following the major tournament. But for her recent Phase Eight dress in the season's trending hue, it's available in most sizes here.

Cat Deeley's linen dress that 'fits like a glove' discounted with code

Butter yellow is the undisputed colour of 2025 and Cat's latest dress is perfect for leaning into the trend this summer Cat Deeley is no stranger to a great summer dress, and her latest look on This Morning proves exactly why she's become one of daytime TV's most stylish presenters. This morning, Cat stepped out in a dreamy buttermilk yellow halterneck dress - a shade that has not-so-quietly become the top colour trend of 2025. The presenter wore Boden's Halter Linen Dress, which comes in at £146. However, customers at Boden can currently save 15% off new dress styles with the code W7XC, taking the total down to £124.10. The Boden number comes in an 80% breathable linen fabric with a hint of recycled cotton, finished with a smocked back panel for a little extra give. The composition makes it ideal for warm weather dressing, ideal for any forthcoming heatwaves. The sweetheart neckline brings soft structure, while the full, flared skirt adds a romantic swing. Tied neatly at the neck, the look is polished, feminine, and completely effortless, which is exactly Cat's vibe. If you've been watching closely, you'll know that Cat loves a halterneck, with the silhouette becoming something of a summer signature for the 48-year-old. Cat wore at least seven halter-style dresses or tops on This Morning in June alone, confirming her love for the neckline that flatters shoulders and elongates the frame. The dress comes in sizes 4-22, but for those who enjoy options, Nobody's Child's Butter Yellow Colorado Midi Dress is currently on sale for £55.25 down from £65. Fans who've snapped up Cat's Boden dress already have praised its airy fit, high-quality fabric, and thoughtful design - including its pockets. One said: 'This dress fits like a glove! My first purchase from Boden, so I wasn't sure about sizes because I'm usually between 10 and 12 (I'm 5.8 with a short torso and long legs). I went for size 10 regular and it is perfect. I ordered both colours, and am keeping them both because the linen fabric is great and the cut of the dress is exactly what I've been looking for.' One found the waist to be a little high, giving the frock two stars, commenting: 'This dress looks gorgeous in the photos, and I hoped it would look good on. However, the waistline is far too high on me (I'm 5' 8") and means the fit and flare style flares out too high and gives me an odd shape. So disappointed because I liked the style, the fabric, lining and pockets.' Meanwhile, a third, five-star rating read: 'The dress is comfortable to wear and airy. The colour is very nice. It's a pity that there is no matching jacket. I converted the halter to a crossed back. This was easily possible with two small seams and has the advantage that the front of the dress does not spring forward when you lean over. Feel free to offer more flared dresses with a raised waist, dear Boden team.' Cat styled her dress with some flat sandals and a dramatic gold chain necklace with an oversized heart. She wore her hair down in a voluminous, blow-out style - ideal for a summer dinner date. Shoppers can copy her exact look with the Boden dress here.
