'It has been blessful and an amazing journey, ' says the ever-elegant Misha Omar as she celebrates her new single and concert

Celebrating her 23rd year in the music business, Misha Omar, dubbed as Malaysia's 'divine voice' says she is enjoying every minute of her long career and is once again topping the charts with her soulful new single "Break". After winning hearts in the region for more than two decades and at the age of 44, the ever-elegant Misha is hardly thinking of slowing down. Misha is back in the limelight as she continues to melt the hearts of music fans in South-East Asia with the soulful "Break", her new single, which is also the main soundtrack for Astro's "Mandul Bukan Pilihan" hit tv series. The song is brought to fans by Malaysia's top record producer, Sony Music Malaysia, and was officially launched to the masses on June 20. During a special listening party in KL on Thursday (July 31), Misha said she is just thankful that she has lasted this long and her journey to where she is now has been filled with tough but, yet many memorable moments. "You know, my life is a journey. An amazing journey. But all this time, I have been blessed with so many good things - family, friends, well-wishers, and most importantly, wonderful, wonderful fans. It has been a great joyride," said Misha after the listening party for her new single, 'Break'. 'Touching on the production of Break, as a singer, I have had the best cooperation with my vocal teacher, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat. 'As a singer, before starting a new project, I take vocal classes and 'dissect' the lyrics so that the appreciation and the whole feeling about Break can be conveyed well. Hopefully, Break can touch the soul and leave an impression on the hearts of fans,' said Misha. The stirring and emotional new single also marks her first-ever collaboration with Indonesian music legend Melly Goeslaw. With over two decades of musical excellence under her belt, the three-time Anugerah Juara Lagu Best Vocalist breathes life into "Break", a beautifully crafted composition by Melly Goeslaw, with musical arrangement by celebrated producer Tohpati. Though the title "Break" may suggest a pause, for Misha Omar, it symbolises the opposite — a bold reaffirmation of her commitment to creating timeless, quality music that resonates deeply with her audience. 'I've always dreamed of performing a song written by Melly,' Misha shares. 'So I leaped and messaged her directly on social media. To my delight, she responded - and "Break" was born, written specifically for me. "This collaboration is incredibly special and came at exactly the right moment in my journey.' . There was even a special surprise for Misha at the listening party on Thursday. Indonesian diva Melly made the trip to join Misha on stage during the listening party. "I'm just so touched today. For a superstar like Melly to join me on stage and make a trip just for the show. This has to be one of the greatest moments of my career," said Misha. "What a fantastic surprise. I thank Sony for this thoughtful move. This is a present I will not forget for a lifetime." Speaking about the production of "Break", Misha said she had approached Melly on social media via Direct Message (DM): "This project started when I just told myself to go ahead and approach Melly on DM. Melly was happy to do it and then "Break" was born. This is one song that will be in my heart forever. 'I've always dreamed of performing a song written by Melly. This collaboration is incredibly special and came at exactly the right moment in my journey.' As for Melly, she said she has been a big fan of Misha's work for many, many years. "I have been following her for such a long time. She simply has an amazing voice. I have always been in awe of Misha's song," said Melly. "So when she approached me for a collaboration, I just could not say no. It has been an honour to work with Misha. And I believe no one could have sung this song better than Misha," said Melly at the listening party. The listening party was also made much more special when both divas were on the stage at the same time, singing to the tune of the new single, much to the delight of the listeners who attended the event. "Break" is available for streaming and download since June 20 on all major platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music. It has an aptly named teaser for the new song -- Don't take a break — tune in to "Break" . On another note, Misha will also be staging her mega solo concert at the Mega Star Arena on November 29. This year's concert is brought to fans by music and art house producers Double M Production, together with Altus Prohouse as the managers for the "DiA Misha Omar" concert. Question about life drives singer to tears

Compiled by FAZLEENA AZIZ, C. ARUNO and R. ARAVINTHAN SINGER Hafiz Suip could not hold back his tears when asked by fans whether he was happy with his current life, Berita Harian reported. The 35-year-old cried when the question was asked in a video sharing titled Episode 1 Behind Me – Hafiz Suip on Instagram on July 19. 'I am grateful for His blessings. I am happy and trying to make peace with life. 'I don't want to play the blame game; that's what will complicate things. So, when you have acceptance, you will find happiness,' he said while wiping away tears. On Friday, Hafiz uploaded a photo accompanied by the date 1.11.2025, signalling that there will be a special performance or concert. In the same video post, Hafiz, a two-time Anugerah Juara Lagu winner, said he has not put an end to his singing career. 'This is all that I have. With the support of my fans, I will still be in this industry,' he said. He also admitted that being away from his children, as well as the negative comments from the public, was the saddest time of his life. Earlier this year, Hafiz admitted that his nine-year marriage with Nureffy Jasreel Abdullah became rocky. The couple are said to no longer live together and are in the process of divorce. > The Negri Sembilan Wildlife and National Parks Department is monitoring two locations in Kuala Pilah and Jelebu after a tapir was captured on video, Sinar Harian reported. Its director Faizal Izham Pikri said there were no forest reserves near the two locations, but the presence of bushland gave the tapir room to move. He said regular monitoring was carried out to ensure the safety of residents and wildlife. On Friday, two separate photos and videos of wild tapirs shared by social media users went viral. So far, the department has received six complaints regarding tapirs roaming around and damaging crops in the area, he said. 'The one with the divine voice' - Malaysian legend Misha Omar to serenade fans at her solo concert on Nov 29 in KL

Malaysian legendary singer Misha Omar, popularly known as the 'Divine Voice', who is currently at the peak of her career, has now taken a step further. At 43, and with over two decades of musical excellence under her belt, the three-time Anugerah Juara Lagu Best Vocalist has now announced her mega-solo concert. In a special media announcement on Thursday (July 10), Misha said that she will be staging her mega solo concert at the Mega Star Arena on Nov 29. Many of her fans say her voice is just divine, and she has always been in the limelight since the new millennium. This time, Misha aims to party it out with her fans come November 29. The renowned songstress and local legend recently returned to the spotlight with "Break", a stirring and emotional new single that marks her first-ever collaboration with Indonesian music legend Melly Goeslaw. The amazing singer breathes life into "Break", a beautifully crafted composition by Melly Goeslaw, with musical arrangement by celebrated producer Tohpati. "Break" also adds another meaningful entry to her rich catalogue, following last year's single "Masihkan Ada Rasa Itu". Yet beyond personal milestones, Misha sees this project as a celebration of the musical richness of the Nusantara region. "Break" has been available for streaming and download since Friday, June 20, on all major platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music. It has an aptly named teaser for the new song -- Don't take a break— tune in to "Break". And come Nov 29, Misha's super concert has been aptly named 'DiA Misha Omar'. The concert also comes after her stupendous success with her "Misha Omar Back To Basic" showcase in Petaling Jaya last year. This year's concert is brought to fans by music and art house producers Double M Production together with Altus Prohouse as the managers for the "DiA Misha Omar" concert. As the organiser, Double M Production emphasises that "DiA Misha Omar" is not a sequel to the showcase organized last December. "The concert is instead a celebration of Misha's artistic journey, celebrating the music that remains fertile and a sign of appreciation for the support she has received for more than two decades throughout his career as an entertainer. "'DiA Misha Omar' also marks a new phase of the entertainer's journey, where she does not always perform concerts - by her own choice," said the organisers. "Getting to know Misha Omar, she is an entertainer who always likes something simple but leaves or prints great value behind every job she does. "Just like the choice of title, this concert is about storytelling conveyed through his works and the 'black and white' of his 23-year journey in the art industry. "The concert is also expected to be a moment to share sweet things with fans since the days of Bunga-Bunga Cinta until her latest single, Break," said the organisers. Meanwhile, concert managers Altus Prohouse said that they will ensure that fans who attend enjoy satisfaction and new experiences that have never been obtained through Misha Omar's performance before. "We will ensure something of quality, a great concert experience with a line-up of musicians and stage performances from the legendary Misha Omar at the best level at 'DiA Misha Omar', on the night of Nov 29. "How it will go and what will happen, all of that will be answered when you become one of the real witnesses of 'DiA Misha Omar' at Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur," said Miselyn Yee Siew from Altus Prohouse. As for Misha, she said that this kind of concert is something that she has always wanted to do for her fans. "It's not just about me alone, but about how the career struggle that has been going on for over 20 years has been meaningfully supported by industry players and fans," said Misha. "Ironically, I never had a fan club, but with the power of the quality work given to me, with the fans' trust that I am still relevant to entertain them, and also my artistic journey that I have been able to endure to this day. "It has been more than two decades of a journey for me. It is time for me to share that with my fans who have been the pillars of my strength. Join me for an unforgettable night on Nov 29," said Misha Tickets will go on sale on July 25 at 10am.
