Suniel Shetty pens birthday wish for Paresh Rawal amid ongoing 'Hera Pheri 3' dispute
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 30 (ANI): Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty penned a beautiful message for his co-star and friend Paresh Rawal on his 70th birthday amid the ongoing Hera Pheri 3 row. Taking to his Twitter handle, Suniel Shetty described Paresh Rawal as a 'powerhouse of wit and wisdom' while extending a sweet birthday wish for the actor. He wrote, 'To the man... Who is a powerhouse of both Wit & Wisdom and an even more wonderful human being. Happy happy birthday Pareshji. Much love and respect always.' The actor shared a picture from their last appearance at the Mumbai International airport in November last year. They were joined by Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. The beautiful birthday wish by Suneil Shetty came amid the ongoing dispute between Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal after the latter actor's sudden departure from 'Hera Pheri 3' earlier this month. Rawal's sudden exit from the popular franchise was also a big blow to actor Suniel Shetty, who played the calm and collected Shyam in the classic comedy. Suniel, while speaking to ANI, expressed his 'shock' over Rawal's exit. He said he was left 'completely heartbroken' after hearing the news. 'I mean, it's an absolute shock to me, and I'm here because I heard it yesterday, and then today, some more news came about. So, I need to call and find out, and I'm completely heartbroken because if there was one film that I was looking forward to, it was Hera Pheri, you know,' Shetty said. Suniel also made it clear that he feels a third instalment cannot happen without 'Babu Bhaiya. ''It cannot happen. 100 per cent cannot happen without Paresh Rawal. It can have a1 per cent chance without me and Akshay, but 100% can't happen without Paresh ji. No, it doesn't. Raju and Shyam, if they're not hammered by Babu here, it doesn't work,' he added. Paresh Rawal played the role of Shyam in Hera Pheri, while Akshay Kumar donned Raju's character, and Paresh Rawal played Baburao's role in the movie. (ANI)

Suniel Shetty says shooting with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal for Hera Pheri 3 promo didn't feel like 25 years had passed: ‘I was shocked…'
Hera Pheri 3 continues to be in limbo as Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar exchange legal responses following the former's sudden exit from the threequel. Stuck in the crossfire is Suniel Shetty, who's still hopeful about the reconciliation, yet extremely shocked at the recent turn of events. 'We recently shot the Hera Pheri 3 promo. It didn't feel like we three were doing Hera Pheri with Priyadarshan after 25 years! That was the continuity, that is the understanding. Our give-and-take is so wonderful,' said Shetty in an interview with The Lallantop. He added he's in a 'state of shock' after Rawal broke the news of his exit from the film on his X handle last week. Shetty said, 'It's a shocker! It was the biggest excitement, not only for me, but also for Akshay, Paresh, their families, their people, our fans, and even for my kids. Ahan (Shetty, son) sent me the (news) cutting today and asked me, 'Papa, what happened? Why?'' 'I just read that Paresh ji isn't doing the film. But I've been busy promoting Kesari Veer. So I'll go back to Mumbai after 23rd and talk to him about it. I don't know what happened. Everything was on track. I don't think we can imagine anyone else in these characters. Nobody can play Raju other than Akshay like no one can play Shyam other than me,' he added. Suniel Shetty claimed that one can't imagine a Hera Pheri film without Paresh Rawal as Babu Bhaiya. 'There's a one percent chance you can manage without Shyam and Rahul, but it's impossible without Babu Bhaiya,' reasoned Shetty. Ten years ago, in fact, Hera Pheri 3 was announced with Shetty and Rawal reprising their characters, and Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham coming on board as Raju and 'Duplicate Raju.' Shetty recalled his fond memories of filming the first installment of Hera Pher, which released back in 2000. While shooting for the film at a studio in Chennai, Priyadarshan didn't let the three of them iron their clothes, made them wipe off their makeup, and asked them to sleep on newspapers on the floor between takes. 'Priyan sir knows exactly where to cut. Sometimes, an actor feels they should do more, but he says, 'No more is required.' Brilliant, brilliant, genius,' said Shetty. Suniel Shetty also recalled how Priyadarshan broke casting perceptions by hiring him and Akshay Kumar, who were known for action roles, in comedy parts. Shetty feels casting Rawal as Babu Bhaiya was also a great move, given he was only doing negative roles before that. Also Read — Paresh Rawal opens up on Akshay Kumar's lawsuit for exiting Hera Pheri 3: 'My lawyer has sent an appropriate response, all issues will be laid to rest' 'When the Hera Pheri poster came out, the audience wondered how someone like Babu Bhaiya would control these two action stars. That surprise element is what led to the success of the film,' argued Shetty.

Paresh Rawal confirms exit from sequel to this iconic comedy series
For over two decades, Paresh Rawal's character, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, aka Babu Bhaiya, from the Hera Pheri series was one of Indian cinema's most iconic and beloved comedy characters. Earlier this year, director Priyadarshan confirmed a third instalment of the iconic franchise, with the OG trio–Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty–returning. Fans were left excited ever since the news was announced. However, actor Rawal has now confirmed that he has exited the third film. When ANI reached out to the actor to ask if the news was true, he replied, "Yes, it is." Soon after the news went viral, heartbroken fans quickly expressed their disappointment on social media. One user commented, "Paresh Rawal QUITS Hera Pheri 3. Just shut your shops and declare this movie as shelved. There is no Hera Pheri without any of the three, especially not Baburao Ganpatrao Apte." Meanwhile, the reason for his exit hasn't been revealed yet. Directed by Priyadarshan, Hera Pheri was released in 2000. It featured Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu in the lead roles. The second part, which came out in 2006, was directed by the late Neeraj Vora. It featured Akshay, Paresh, Suniel, Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav, and Rimi Sen in the lead roles.
