The actor's post comes amid the ongoing language debate across the country. In April, the Maharashtra government decided to make Hindi a compulsory language for up to Class 4 under the 'Three Language Policy.' This policy was rolled back last week amid pressure from allies and opposition.
The three-language policy was heavily criticised by the opposition parties, especially the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which came together on July 5 to protest against the state government's reported decision.
'We are not against any language. We have always respected Hindi. People like us have always valued it. Our party uses Hindi in many ways. But the recent decision to make Hindi compulsory as the third language up to Class 4 under the 'Three Language Policy' puts an unnecessary burden on children. It is both an academic and a linguistic issue," ANI quoted Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MP Sanjay Raut during a press conference.
Apart from Maharasthra, language related-issues have been reported from Karnataka. Recently, A video surfaced showing a Kannada-speaking woman confronting a bank employee who was unable to assist her in the local language. The video went viral online.

Mangaluru: In a decisive step toward granting official language status to Tulu, the Karnataka government has constituted a committee to study the linguistic policy framework adopted by Andhra Pradesh, particularly its process for declaring an additional official language. The five-member study team, chaired by Gayatri K.M., IAS, Director of the Department of Kannada and Culture, includes representatives from the Law Department, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, and cultural institutions such as the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and the Yakshagana Academy. The team is tasked with visiting Andhra Pradesh to gather information on the criteria and administrative procedures the state followed while designating additional official languages. In particular, the committee will assess the scale, scope, and legal modalities involved in implementing a second official language. Tulu, a Dravidian language spoken predominantly in coastal Karnataka and parts of Kerala, has long been at the centre of regional identity and cultural activism. This is the first time the Karnataka government has initiated a formal policy review toward official recognition. The government has directed the committee to submit a detailed report within three months. The move is widely seen as a response to persistent demands from Tulu-speaking communities and cultural bodies seeking linguistic parity and institutional support for their language.

Railway employee suspended for dereliction of duty in Yadgir
The South Central Railway authorities placed an employee working at the Yadgir Railway Station under suspension on the charge of dereliction of duty on Tuesday after a video of him talking on a mobile phone for a long time while on duty went viral. The employee, C. Mahesh, is seen in the video talking on a mobile phone call for a long time while sitting inside the counter ignoring passengers in the queue outside to get travelling tickets. At one stage, he signalled a passenger to wait. His behaviour triggered the other passengers who urged him to stop talking and issue tickets, as they were already getting late. Despite passengers demanding tickets, he went on speaking on his mobile phone. The video of his behaviour was circulated on social media. The general public and pro-Kannada organisations condemned the incident and demanded immediate action. Upon verification, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager for South Central Railways of the Guntakal division N. Manoj, under whom Yadgir Railway Station falls, passed the suspension order and also ordered a disciplinary inquiry against Mahesh on the charge of dereliction of duty and talking on a mobile phone while on duty. 'We not only placed him under suspension but also have ordered a disciplinary inquiry against him,' Mr. Manoj told The Hindu over phone. Responding to the action, district president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Bheemu Naik has said that it is a welcome decision. But the railway authorities should ensure that no such incident occurs again.

They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care'. Rahul's remarks, which drew a sharp rebuke from the BJP, were in contrast to the stance taken by many Congress leaders, including party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, who termed Trump's allegations as 'baseless', saying 'nation comes first and we are always with the nation'. New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi Thursday said he agrees with US President Donald Trump's assessment of the Indian economy, adding that the 'entire world knows that the Indian economy is a dead economy'. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Rahul said that he was 'glad' the US President had stated a 'fact' that, according to him, everyone except Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is aware of. 'Yes, he is right. Everybody knows this except the prime minister and the finance minister.' 'Everybody knows that the Indian economy is a dead economy. 'Trump has said 30-32 times that he brokered the ceasefire and he also said that five Indian fighter jets went down. Trump is now saying that he will impose 25 percent tariffs. Have you asked yourself why Modi is not being able to respond? What is the actual reason? What do you think? Who holds the control?' he asked. He alleged that the Indian economy, defence and foreign policies have been 'destroyed' by the Modi government. Trump will determine the shape of New Delhi's trade agreement with Washington, talks for which are under way, he alleged. 'You people (media) want to talk about other issues, but they are running this country to the ground. The PM only works for one person: Adani. They have destroyed small businesses. This deal will take place and Trump will define how this deal will be shaped and Modi will do exactly what Trump says,' said Rahul. 'The external affairs minister says that we have a genius foreign policy. On the one hand, the US is abusing you, on the other hand, China is after you. When you send delegations across the globe, not one country condemns Pakistan. They are not capable of running the country. There is total confusion. The Pakistan army chief, who orchestrated the Pahalgam attack, is having lunch with Trump and these people claim that they have been successful. What success are they talking about?' he added.
