"Illegal Immigrant": Team Trump After Indian-Origin Man's Wrong U-Turn Kills 3 In US

Washington: Three people were killed on Florida's Turnpike on Saturday after a semi-truck made an illegal U-turn, causing a collision. The tragic incident also set off a tornado of racist taunts thrown at the Indian-origin driver. The incident involved a semi-truck and trailer that jackknifed and landed on top of a black 2015 Chrysler Town & Country passenger van, across the northbound lanes in St. Lucie County, close to the 170-mile marker. The semi-truck attempted an illegal U-turn at an "Official Use Only" bend while it was in the right lane of the northbound Turnpike, TCPalm News reported. St Lucie Fire Rescue raced to the area to rescue people trapped in the wreckage. Despite their efforts, three people in the passenger car were declared dead at the scene. The dead were identified as a 30-year-old man from Florida City, a 37-year-old woman from Pompano Beach, and a 54-year-old man from Miami. According to preliminary reports, the deadly crash was caused by a semi-truck driver, a Sikh man, whose identity has not yet been revealed. Authorities have not yet filed charges, but as the inquiry progresses, the driver is expected to come under legal scrutiny. Highway officials claimed the collision occurred around 3 pm on Monday, when the truck and minivan were heading north on the turnpike. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the semi-truck, which was towing a box trailer, was in the outer lane when it tried to do a U-turn into a section of the turnpike designated as "official use only." According to the agency, the minivan, in the inside lane, was "unable to avoid" the semi tractor-trailer as it crossed "over all northbound travel lanes" to make the U-turn on the access road. The minivan crashed into the trailer and became jammed beneath its left side. The flood of online hostility directed at the truck driver's Indian identity made the tragedy worse. The video of the Indian-origin semi-truck driver driving went viral on social media, making him the centre of attention, with Team Donald Trump labelling him as an "illegal immigrant." "This individual is an illegal immigrant who was granted a commercial driver's license by the State of California - and now, three innocent people are dead. He has been arrested for vehicular homicide, and an ICE detainer has been issued," an X user wrote. Drivers were advised to take other routes and to stay away from the vicinity, where they might expect significant delays.

'When you learn to drive on Indian roads': Truck driver takes wrong U-turn, kills 3 in Florida

The video of an Indian-origin driver taking a wrong U-turn killing 3 in Florida went viral. The video of a semi-truck taking a wrong U-turn on the Florida Turnpike, killing 3 went viral as social media users claimed that the driver must be from India. According to the Florida Highway Patrol's crash report, the semi-truck was driving northbound in the right lane of the Turnpike as a Chrysler Town & Country minivan was traveling north in the Turnpike's left lane. From the right lane, the semi-truck attempted to make a U-turn at an 'official use only' turn-around area near mile marker 171, crossing in front of the vehicle in the left lane. The driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid the truck, wedging the minivan underneath the truck. Two passengers inside the minivan, a 37-year-old woman from Pompano Beach and a 54-year-old man from Miami, died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Chrysler, a 30-year-old man from Florida City, was flown to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The driver of the semi-truck and the passenger, both men in their 20s from California, did not sustain any injuries. "Two Punjabi drivers make an illegal turn in Florida, which k!lled 3 people. This is what happens when you learn to drive on Indian roads and become a driver in the US," one post claimed. The identity of the driver and the passenger of the semi has not been revealed. As the video went viral, social media users questioned that the driver must have got his license in America, notwithstanding where he learned to drive, and therefore slamming India for the accident is not justified. "This is the fault of the driver not the road or growing up in India. He knew the risks. he went for it anyway just to save 2 minutes of time. Dont make excuses for them. He would have done this after living in us for 20 years too," one wrote.

Three Killed in South Florida Turnpike Crash Involving Semi-Truck

Three people from South Florida tragically died in a crash on Florida's Turnpike on August 12, authorities said. The collision involved a semi tractor-trailer attempting a U-turn in a restricted 'official use only' area. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash occurred near the 171-mile marker, just south of the St. Lucie County north border. The victims, who were traveling in a black 2015 Chrysler Town & Country van, included a 30-year-old man from Florida City, a 37-year-old woman from Pompano Beach, and a 54-year-old man from Miami. Their names have not yet been released. The truck, a blue 2024 International semi tractor-trailer carrying a box trailer, was traveling north with two men from California, aged 25 and 28, who were unharmed. FHP said the crash happened just before 3 p.m. Monday. The semi attempted a U-turn from the outside lane into a restricted area along the Turnpike. As it crossed all northbound lanes, the van in the inside lane could not avoid the truck and became wedged under the left side of the trailer.

Man fatally struck while riding a lawn mower at night in northwest Charlotte, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Detectives are investigating after a man was fatally struck while riding a lawn mower at night in northwest Charlotte. Police responded to reports of an accident with injuries near the 5700 block of Freedom Drive, on May 20 around 9 p.m. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man, 63-year-old Dexter Leon Monk, lying in the middle of the road with life-threatening injuries and a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country with damage to the front of the vehicle. The driver, 58-year-old Kevin David, was stopped in the middle of the roadway. Medic responded and pronounced Monk dead at the scene. Police say David was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. The initial investigation showed that Monk was riding a lawn mower westbound on Freedom Drive when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. David was screened for impairment and was found to be not impaired. Neither speed nor impairment are suspected factors in the crash for David. However, police believe Monk may have been impaired. Toxicology results for pending. This case remains active and 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

This Hellcat Minivan Isn't Quite What It Seems

Read the full story on Backfire News For years people have been joking about Dodge making a Hellcat minivan, something which will likely never be a production reality. But some guys with a shop decided to take on such a feat by themselves. The thing is how they went about it is so different from what an automaker and even a lot of builders would do, we doubt most people just looking at the thing would even suspect what it really all, watching a minivan roast its rear tires while hearing a Hemi V8 roar and the huge supercharger whine is a boatload of fun. We've seen people modify Chrysler minivans before and literally burn rubber, but this one seems so much more appropriate. Maybe that's the purist in us talking because a Mopar minivan should have a Mopar powertrain. But there's so much more going on with this build than just a powertrain swap. And we're not talking about how they had to also transplant the dash from the Hellcat to get everything to work. These guys from the YouTube channel Rich Rebuilds cut the body of a Dodge Charger Hellcat, keeping the chassis, powertrain, and interior intact. Then they did the same thing with a Chrysler Town & Country, attaching the minivan body to the Hellcat chassis. We've seen this sort of thing done before, including a minivan body grafted onto a Tesla Model S Plaid chassis. But this isn't what most people would expect to have going on under the skin when they first see a Hellcat minivan. While it absolutely works and the thing looks spectacular once they wrap it in Plum Crazy, it would be cool to see how someone would shoehorn a Hellcat's powertrain into a Chrysler Town & Country or maybe a Pacifica. Check out the second video to see these guys putting some of the finishing touches on their build before hauling it to a shop for a full roll cage to be installed. We can't wait to see this thing on a track! Image via Rich Rebuilds/YouTube
