"It changes your whole life. It's brutal and incredible. "They've changed my life, obviously, for the best, and they've changed me creatively," she added before quipping, "I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor." Lawrence also reflected on the postpartum period while discussing the role. "There's not really anything like postpartum," she said. "It's extremely isolating. ... ‘Hollywood's new dream duo': Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson steal spotlight at Cannes

Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson have emerged as the darlings of Cannes as the co-stars' go viral for their wholesome encounters. In a late 2000s' pop culture crossover we never knew we needed, the Hunger Games leading lady and Twilight actor have graced the iconic film festival on the French Riviera to premiere their new thriller, Die, My Love. The pair have become prime internet fodder thanks to their exploding 'chemistry' amid their flurry of press opportunities, with fans dubbing them 'Award season's new favourite duo'. Lawrence, 34, walked the Palais des Festivals red carpet in an exquisite white strapless ballgown at the weekend arm-in-arm with Pattinson, 39. At one point, Pattinson helped his co-star fan out her lengthy train, the pair giggling and chatting to one another as they posed for the swarm of photographers. Inside the theatre as the pair enjoyed a standing ovation following the film premiere, Lawrence was caught on camera giving the finger to Pattinson, before they broke out in laughter and hugged each other. In various interviews, Pattinson has won hearts with his adorable comments about Lawrence. During their chat at the Cannes press conference, the pair both discussed how becoming parents had helped them creatively. Lawrence shares two young children with her husband Cooke Maroney, while Pattinson welcomed his first child with Suki Waterhouse in March last year. 'Having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration,' Pattinson said. 'You get energy?!' Lawrence asked her co-star. Pattinson responded, laughing, 'This question is impossible for a guy to answer correctly! What Jennifer said, I'm here just to support!' 'me liking and retweeting every single tweet about jennifer lawrence and robert pattinson in cannes,' one wrote. 'Hollywood's new favourite duo,' another said. 'Why are they so wholesome,' a third wrote. 'THE CHEMISTRY,' a fourth chimed in. '2014 me is losing it over the fact that Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson are in a movie together,' another said. While their relationship is certainly lighthearted off-screen, Lawrence and Pattinson's Die, My Love is a heavy, psychological drama exploring themes including post-partum depression and psychosis. Lawrence plays Grace, a new mother living on a farm in Montana, while Pattinson plays her husband Jackson. Shortly after giving birth to the couple's first child, Grace begins to exhibit strange behaviour as she slowly succumbs to post-partum depression and, ultimately, enters psychosis. The film, based on the 2017 book by Ariana Harwicz and directed by Lynne Ramsay, is produced by Lawrence's production company Excellent Cadaver.

Jennifer Lawrence Just Made Her First Comments On Motherhood Since Giving Birth To Her Second Child

Last month, it was revealed that Jennifer Lawrence gave birth to her second baby in New York City. You'll recall that she welcomed her first with husband Cooke Maroney, Cy, back in 2022. Even though Jennifer is known to yap (and I mean that as the highest of compliments), she's pretty private about her personal life. So until now, the only word we'd really heard about her post-second pregnancy was a report from People as to how she was doing. 'Her first child was born in Los Angeles. She recently gave birth to her second child in N.Y.C. She's doing well," a source told the publication at the time. "She was very excited about the pregnancy. She thought it was the perfect timing. She was very active and felt good." During the press conference for the film (via Variety), Jennifer made her first comments about dealing with motherhood — a theme that's central to the film — since giving birth again. "And it was just heartbreaking." "I had just had my firstborn, and there's not really anything like postpartum. It's extremely isolating, which is so interesting. When Lynne moves this couple into Montana, she doesn't have a community. She doesn't have her people. But the truth is, extreme anxiety and extreme depression is isolating, no matter where you are. You feel like an alien.' 'Having children changes everything," she added. "It changes your whole life. It's brutal and incredible. 'So not only do they go into every decision of if I'm working, where I'm working, when I'm working, they've taught me — I mean, I didn't know that I could feel so much and my job has a lot to do with emotion. It's almost like feeling a blister or something — like, so sensitive." "So they've changed my life, obviously, for the best and they've changed me creatively. I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor.' Jennifer, let me be the first to say that if I ever become an actor, I'll definitely keep that in mind. Jennifer Lawrence Discusses Post-Partum and How Having Children Is 'Brutal and Incredible'

On Sunday morning, Jennifer Lawrence attended a Cannes press conference for her newest film, Die, My Love, in which she stars across from Robert Pattinson. While discussing the Lynne Ramsay-directed movie, Lawrence shared a bit about her experiences as a new mother and how they informed her performance. The actress has two kids with her husband, Cooke Maroney. In Die, My Love, Lawrence plays a young mother named Grace who is struggling with mental health issues after welcoming her child. Her struggles become an issue in her marriage to Jackson, played by Pattinson. The couple is completely isolated in their rural home in California, exacerbating their problems. During the press conference, Lawrence shared she was already five months pregnant with her second child when she was filming the movie. 'I'm not an actor who brings the work home,' she said. 'It's part hormonal imbalance, but she's also having an identity crisis—who am I as a mother, as a wife as a sexual person. She's plagued with this feeling that she's disappearing. The only way for me to dip into some of this visceral emotion.' She continued, 'Having children changes your whole life—it's brutal and incredible. Not only does it go into every decision of if I'm working, when I'm working and where I'm working. My job has a lot to do with emotion; they've opened up the world to me. It's almost like feeling a blister, so sensitive. They've changed my life for the best and they've changed me creatively. I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor.' Pattinson is also a relatively new dad, welcoming his first child with Suki Waterhouse last year. But, in terms of his role in Die, My Love, he found himself being surprisingly normal while in character. 'I'm attracted to characters who are incredibly abrasive and quite obscure, but Jackson was a normal guy,' he explained. 'When you're dealing with a person going through post-partum or any kind of mental illness, you're trying to deal with her isolation and trying to figure out what your role in the relationship is, and trying to hold on.' Pattinson added, 'He's not a mental health professional. He's not looking at TikTok reels about parenting. He's hoping the relationship will go back to what it was in its purist form. He's trying to understand why this happened.' Jennifer Lawrence shares 'extremely isolating' postpartum struggles after the birth of her first child as she stars as a mother battling psychosis in Cannes film Die, My Love

has candidly shared her struggles during an 'extremely isolating' postpartum period after the birth of her first child. The actress, 34, who welcomed her second baby earlier this year with husband Cooke Maroney, is starring as a mother battling psychosis in her new film Die, My Love, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday. Speaking at a press conference to promote the film, Jennifer candidly shared how she related to her character's struggles after struggling with the loneliness of her early motherhood. The Hunger Games star gave birth to her first child, son Cy, back in 2022, and shared that she had not long had her baby when she was approached to star in the film. She said: 'I mean, obviously, as a mother, it was really hard to separate what I would do as opposed to what she would do. It was just heartbreaking. When I first read the book, it was just such a devastating, powerful... Lynne (Ramsay) said it was dreamlike. 'I had just read my first (baby). And there's not really anything like postpartum. It's extremely isolating, which is so interesting when Lynn (Ramsay) moves this couple into Montana. 'She doesn't have a community. She doesn't have her people. But the truth is, extreme anxiety and extreme depression is isolated, no matter where you are. You feel like an alien. And so it deeply moved me. I wanted to work with Lynn Ramsey since I saw Rat Catcher.' In the film, Jennifer stars as Grace, a new mother whose mental health begins to deteriorate as her marriage crumbles, with Robert Pattinson starring as her husband Jackson. The star admitted that since having children, it has changed her perspective on her career, and described motherhood as 'brutal and incredible.' She added: 'Well, having children changes everything. 'It changes your whole life. But it's brutal and incredible. And so not only do they go into every decision of if I'm working, where I'm working, when I'm working. 'It taught me... I didn't know that I could feel so much. My job has a lot to do with emotion. They've opened up the world to me. It's almost like feeling like a blister or something, so sensitive. 'So they've changed my life, obviously, for the best, and they've changed me creatively. I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor.' In the film, Jennifer stars as Grace, a new mother whose mental health begins to deteriorate as her marriage crumbles, with Robert Pattinson (pictured) starring as her husband Jackson This film is the first time Jennifer and Robert have worked together, and the Twilight star, who welcomed his first child with fiancée Suki Waterhouse last year, echoed his co-star's sentiments. He said: 'I think in the most unexpected way, having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration. 'Ever since she was born, it's reintegrated the way I approach work. We just your completed. Can you go over here?' Die My Love is described as both a horror and a comedy and was directed by Lynne Ramsay, who was also present on the red carpet. Jennifer and Robert both rose to fame in the 2010s, with Jennifer starring in film adaptations of The Hunger Games series as Katniss Everdeen and Robert Pattinson gaining worldwide fame for his role as Edward Cullen in Twilight. Die My Love is based on a 2017 novel by Argentine writer, Ariana Harwicz, which details a new mum's battle with postpartum depression and subsequent psychosis. The red carpet appearance is Jennifer's first since she welcomed her second child earlier this year, whose name and gender are not known, with husband Cooke Maroney. In a 2022 interview with Vogue, the actress opened up about the joy of becoming a first-time mother following the birth of her first child that year, sharing that the birth of her son Cy 'felt like my whole life had started over.' 'I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing,' she gushed. This year's Cannes Film Festival is taking place in the wake of Trump´s vow to enact tariffs on international films. Cannes, where filmmakers, sales agents and journalists gather from around the world, is the Olympics of the big screen, with its own golden prize, the Palme d´Or, to give out at the end. Filmmakers come from nearly every corner of the globe to showcase their films while dealmakers work through the night to sell finished films or packaged productions to various territories. 'You release a film into that Colosseum-like situation,' says Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho, who´s returning to Cannes with 'The Secret Agent, a thriller set during Brazil ´s dictatorship. 'You´ve got to really prepare for the whole experience because it´s quite intense - not very far from the feeling of approaching a roller coaster as you go up the steps at the Palais.' Trump sent shock waves through Hollywood and the international film community when he announced on May 4 that all movies "produced in Foreign Lands" will face 100% tariffs. The White House has said no final decisions have been made. Options being explored include federal incentives for U.S.-based productions, rather than tariffs. But the announcement was a reminder of how international tensions can destabilize even the oldest cultural institutions. The Cannes Film Festival originally emerged in the World War II years, when the rise of fascism in Italy led to the founding of an alternative to the then-government controlled Venice Film Festival. In the time since, Cannes´ resolute commitment to cinema has made it a beacon to filmmakers. Countless directors have come to make their name.
