‘Hollywood's new dream duo': Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson steal spotlight at Cannes
Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson have emerged as the darlings of Cannes as the co-stars' go viral for their wholesome encounters.
In a late 2000s' pop culture crossover we never knew we needed, the Hunger Games leading lady and Twilight actor have graced the iconic film festival on the French Riviera to premiere their new thriller, Die, My Love.
The pair have become prime internet fodder thanks to their exploding 'chemistry' amid their flurry of press opportunities, with fans dubbing them 'Award season's new favourite duo'.
Lawrence, 34, walked the Palais des Festivals red carpet in an exquisite white strapless ballgown at the weekend arm-in-arm with Pattinson, 39.
At one point, Pattinson helped his co-star fan out her lengthy train, the pair giggling and chatting to one another as they posed for the swarm of photographers.
Inside the theatre as the pair enjoyed a standing ovation following the film premiere, Lawrence was caught on camera giving the finger to Pattinson, before they broke out in laughter and hugged each other.
In various interviews, Pattinson has won hearts with his adorable comments about Lawrence.
During their chat at the Cannes press conference, the pair both discussed how becoming parents had helped them creatively. Lawrence shares two young children with her husband Cooke Maroney, while Pattinson welcomed his first child with Suki Waterhouse in March last year.
'Having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration,' Pattinson said.
'You get energy?!' Lawrence asked her co-star.
Pattinson responded, laughing, 'This question is impossible for a guy to answer correctly! What Jennifer said, I'm here just to support!'

Fans have flooded X with dozens of supportive comments over their casting together.
'me liking and retweeting every single tweet about jennifer lawrence and robert pattinson in cannes,' one wrote.
'Hollywood's new favourite duo,' another said.
'Why are they so wholesome,' a third wrote.
'THE CHEMISTRY,' a fourth chimed in.
'2014 me is losing it over the fact that Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson are in a movie together,' another said.
While their relationship is certainly lighthearted off-screen, Lawrence and Pattinson's Die, My Love is a heavy, psychological drama exploring themes including post-partum depression and psychosis.
Lawrence plays Grace, a new mother living on a farm in Montana, while Pattinson plays her husband Jackson.
Shortly after giving birth to the couple's first child, Grace begins to exhibit strange behaviour as she slowly succumbs to post-partum depression and, ultimately, enters psychosis.
The film, based on the 2017 book by Ariana Harwicz and directed by Lynne Ramsay, is produced by Lawrence's production company Excellent Cadaver.

Singer James Blunt looks super-fit at 51 while on holiday in St Tropez
James Blunt is living his best life on vacation in St Tropez while looking fitter than ever. The British singer stripped down to a pair of bright orange board shorts while touring the coastal town in the French Riviera on a yacht with his wife, Sofia Wellesley. The shirtless 51-year-old and his 41-year-old wife, who was wearing a chic black swimsuit, looked relaxed on-board as they chilled out with friends and took selfies. The pair had cause for celebration as last month Blunt celebrated 20 years since the release of his char-topping single You're Beautiful from his debut album Back to Bedlam. The song scored Blunt nominations for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the 2005 Grammys as well as Best Pop Vocal Album for Back to Bedlam. The song has also earned him a significant amount of money. In march, The Sun reported that Blunt raked in more than £5,000 ($10,000) a day in the 12 months up to March 31, 2024. And documents filed at Companies House in the UK for his pop firm James Blunt Limited reported a profit of £1.9 million ($3.9 million) over the year. His earnings for that one song have been so momentous that it bought Blunt a hilltop house in Ibiza in 2006. 'Twenty years ago today, I put out the song that bought me this house,' he said in an Instagram video shared on May 30. 'I mean, who would've thought a song about being high as a kite on drugs, stalking someone else's girlfriend would resonate quite so much?' 'Thank you. You guys are beautiful,' he added. The house cost the singer £1.7 million ($3.5 million) and boasts six bedrooms, a library, sun terrace and an outdoor swimming pool and pool house all surrounded by pine forest. In his Instagram video, Blunt – who lives at the property with Wellesley and their two young sons – showed off the house's grand wooden beams on the ceiling and the terracotta tiles that led to a pair of French doors that opened into the living room. Later this year, Blunt will visit Australia and New Zealand for his Back to Bedlam 20th anniversary tour. The album, which also featured the hits Goodbye My Lover, High and Wisemen, reached number one the ARIA album charts and earning the eighth spot on the ARIA Top 100 Albums of the 2000s. 'New Zealand and Australia… I'm coming to get you! Following last year's incredible tour of Oz, I knew I had to bring my Back To Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour to you guys Down Under, and this time we're sneaking in New Zealand, and I can't wait to see all of you! I promise to deliver an unforgettable show!' he shared in a statement earlier this year. The tour kicks of in Brisbane on October 23 before hitting Sydney on October 25, Melbourne on October 26, Adelaide on October 28 and Perth on October 30.

Naomi Watts' daughter reveals struggles with her identity
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber's trans daughter, Kai, always had a vision for her future. 'I want to be a supermodel. Period,' Kai, 16, said in a Q&A with Interview Magazine published Wednesday when asked to share her dream career. 'I've been practising my walks in the kitchen for years; my mum can show you all the videos I forced her to film,' she continued. 'Struggling with gender identity from a young age most likely had something to do with it.' The teenager added, 'I always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn.' Kai also told Interview that she looks up to 'the older generation of transgender people.' 'People like Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, Hari Nef, Dara, Richie Shazam, Colin Jones, and so many more,' she said, listing her fashion role models. 'It's so great that there's a strong community of us in the fashion world; it's really a doll takeover.' Kai, who is the second child of Watts and Schreiber, made her runway debut for Valentino at Paris Fashion Week in March. The following month, the model appeared in the fashion brand's chic pre-fall campaign — with her mum celebrating the achievement on social media. 'Congratulations @kaischreiberrr — so exciting!! ï¸,' the King Kong actress, 56, gushed on Instagram, adding, 'Beaming with pride.' Last month, Schreiber discussed Kai's transgender identity publicly for the first time in an interview with Variety. 'Kai was always who Kai is,' the Perfect Couple actor, 57, told the outlet. 'But I suppose the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns,' he explained. 'To be honest with you, it didn't feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.' He described his fashionable daughter as being 'as feisty and outspoken as they come.' 'Kai is such a fighter,' he added. 'It's important that she goes, 'Hey, I am trans,' and, 'Look at me.'' Schreiber and Watts began their relationship in 2005 — welcoming son Sasha in 2007 followed by Kai in 2008. The former couple split in 2016 after 11 years together, but they've continued to amicably co-parent their children. The blended family came together for Sasha's graduation last week, with Watts' husband, Billy Crudup, and Schreiber's wife, Taylor Neisen, in attendance. This story originally appeared on Page Six
