Jennifer Lawrence talks having kids as 'Die, My Love' hits Cannes

Lawrence became a mother in 2022 when she welcomed her first child with husband Cooke Maroney. She and Maroney welcomed their second child together earlier this year.
The actress reflected on being a mom during a Cannes news conference.

"Having children changes everything," she said. "It changes your whole life. It's brutal and incredible. Not only do they go into every decision of if I'm working, where I'm working, when I'm working, (but also) they've taught me - I didn't know that I could feel so much."
"They've changed my life, obviously, for the best, and they've changed me creatively," she added before quipping, "I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor."
Lawrence also reflected on the postpartum period while discussing the role. "There's not really anything like postpartum," she said. "It's extremely isolating. ... Extreme anxiety and extreme depression is isolating, no matter where you are. You feel like an alien."

Early reviews for "Die, My Love" have heaped praise on Lawrence, with Deadline's Damon Wise writing that it "might yet prove to be a career best" for the actress, IndieWire's Ryan Lattanzio saying that she has "never been better," and Vanity Fair's Richard Lawson declaring that she is "mesmerizing."
If Lawrence is nominated at the Oscars in 2026, it would be her first Academy Award nod since 2016, when she was up for best actress for "Joy." She won best actress for "Silver Linings Playbook" in 2013, when she was 22, and has also been nominated for "Winter's Bone" and "American Hustle."
After taking a step back from acting, Lawrence has only appeared in a handful of films in recent years, including the 2021 satire "Don't Look Up" and the 2023 romantic comedy "No Hard Feelings." Speaking about her acting hiatus on "The Late Show" in 2021, "I took a break and nobody really cared," she said.
"I got to feel like I could become a part of the world again without fanfare."

These New York shopping spots just made the list of the best malls in America

The mall is back—and New York City is leading the retail revival. In USA Today 's newly released 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for Best Mall in America, four NYC-area shopping spots cracked the top 10, proving that the art of the indoor shopping spree is alive and well. Topping the local leaderboard at No. 4 is The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, the glitzy, glass-wrapped complex on Manhattan's West Side. With million-dollar views of the Vessel, top-tier dining like Estiatorio Milos and Electric Lemon and a fashion lineup that includes Chanel, Dior and more, it's retail therapy with a penthouse attitude. Brookfield Place, the serene, waterfront mall in Lower Manhattan, scored the No. 10 spot. Formerly the World Financial Center, this luxury enclave features a palm-lined Winter Garden Atrium, a sleek sailing school and enough upscale stores and restaurants to justify a staycation. Just across the river, American Dream in East Rutherford landed at No. 7. This Jersey juggernaut is more theme park than mall, with an indoor ski slope, a water park and Nickelodeon Universe on top of its more than 400 stores. It's chaotic and extra, but also exactly what the tri-state needed. And while it's not a New York mall, Aventura Mall in South Florida took the top overall spot—no surprise for anyone who's ever strolled its sleek corridors between art installations, designer storefronts and Florida's first Eataly. The 10Best awards start with nominations from a panel of experts and editors and then let the public vote to determine the winners. Criteria include the variety of shops, entertainment options, accessibility and events—everything that turns a mall visit into an all-day affair. So if you've been sleeping on the city's mall scene, consider this your wake-up call. Whether you want your shopping with a side of skyline views, art or après-ski, there's a mall near NYC ready to serve.

Sam Heughan drops major hint Outlander could return after season 8 finale

Outlander season eight might not be the last we see of Claire and Jamie Fraser's love story, if Sam Heughan's hints are to be believed... Outlander fans are already mourning the loss of Claire and Jamie Fraser's captivating love story. The eighth and final season will soon hit screens, as the fanbase prepares to close the chapter on the era. Although we have spin-off Blood of My Blood to look forward to, it's the original thats likely to stick in everyone's hearts. Diana Gabaldon's best-selling book franchise only grew after it was adapted by Starz for the small screen. ‌ The series has catapulted the likes of Scottish actor Sam Heughan to fame for his portrayal as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser. The good news? There could be a silver lining on the horizon, despite the fact the show is set to end for good after the eighth run. ‌ While promoting his new stage role in Macbeth, Sam spoke about the closing chapter in his TV career and if there was scope for a follow-up series or special, to which he made it clear he wouldn't rule it out. "Who knows?" Heughan said when speaking to Deadline news. "I know they did that with Downton Abbey and others. So you never know. Maybe the ginger wig is still around somewhere." The innocent remark has sent shockwaves through the fanbase. Although Starz has not confirmed any Outlander continuations beyond Blood of My Blood set to premiere later this year, it hasn't stopped many hoping. Elsewhere, Sam is set to return to the stage for his theatre debut as Macbeth, at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). The actor was delighted to announce he will star in a leading role, admitting his dreams have come true. ‌ He will feature alongside The Day Of The Jackal actress Lia Williams, starring as Lady Macbeth. Discussing his new role, Sam said: "At age 18, standing on the main stage of the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, playing 'spear-carrier number 2' (essentially a glorified extra) in a production of Macbeth, I could only dream of one day playing the infamous title character." He continued: "It feels full circle to be returning to the stage, after over a decade working primarily in television and film. Not only is Macbeth my favourite Shakespeare play: intense, immediate and unsettling, it also happens to be famously Scottish. "The RSC has always been at the pinnacle of my ambition and I feel deeply honoured and thankful to be working alongside some enormously talented and creative people. "The Other Place is the perfect space to create an intense, intimate production and, like Lady M, we will be calling upon the spirits of the RSC's highly acclaimed past productions for their blessing."
