Rob Gronkowski sounds alarm on Jordon Hudson ‘distraction' for Bill Belichick, UNC
Rob Gronkowski appears to be changing his stance a bit on his former head coach's polarizing love life. Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson's relationship has been anything but smooth sailing when it comes to its perception from the public eye — and Gronkowski is now taking note on how far it all strays from what Belichick preached in his nine years coaching the legendary tight end. 'You know, and in the back of your head, too, you're just thinking to yourself as well, 'When you were on the Patriots, the whole goal was to eliminate all the distractions that can possibly happen while you're on the team,'' Gronkowski said in an interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub. Advertisement 3 Bill Belichick and Rob Gronkowski hug in 2015 after winning the Super Bowl together for the Patriots. Getty Images 'And don't bring those distractions to the team and in the locker room, and we're just looking down at the program in North Carolina and it feels like there are just distractions 24/7 down there,' he added. 'There's no football talk as well.' This is a different stance than what Gronkowski preached just about two weeks ago when he and fellow former New England Patriot Julian Edeleman spoke on the 'Dudes on Dudes' podcast. Advertisement The two cut Hudson some slack after her brutal moment where she cut a CBS interviewer's question to Belichick about how the couple met. The former teammates noted how Hudson was simply playing the role of a publicist, not an ornery girlfriend. 'People are giving an unfair reality of what's going on,' Edelman argued on the podcast. 'Because she was jumping into that conversation during the interview just like any PR person would jump in when there's an unnecessary question that probably [they] didn't go over in the pre-production meeting.' 3 The 24-year-old is dating the 73-year-old Bill Belichick, coach of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Getty Images 'When you look at this situation and you say, 'This is his girlfriend jumping in,' I think that's unfair,' Edelman added. 'I think she's actually working with coach Belichick in the professional world.' Advertisement This sentiment is backed up by the fact that UNC released a statement on Friday saying that Hudson will 'manage all activities related to Coach Belichick's personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.' 3 Rob Gronkowski played nine seasons for Bill Belichick for the Patriots. Getty Images As Gronkowski now notes, though, Belichick's relationship with Hudson has been a distraction — to say the least. Advertisement So much so, that UNC is closing in on hiring a former Chicago Bears PR chief to work alongside Belichick in handling the debacle that is his relationship with the 24-year-old. Perhaps then, Hudson will find herself less in the spotlight of micro-managing Belichick's public moves and more so in the supportive girlfriend role.

Future Hall of Famer Reveals Haunting Ravens Story
The Baltimore Ravens know just how dangerous the New England Patriots were at the peak of their powers. As they stampeded through the AFC playoff circuit year after year, the Ravens found themselves as fodder twice in four seasons. When the Ravens did topple the NFL's Goliath, they won the Super Bowl two weeks later. Part of that dynastical core was tight end Rob Gronkowski, whose versatility made him a freakish boost to New England's offense. Of the receiving tight ends to blossom in the 2010s, none blocked quite as well as Gronkowski. When he wasn't stifling defenders, he was jumping over them or running through them, creating an unfair pairing with the greatest quarterback to hit the gridiron. Advertisement Simply put, Gronkowski was a nuisance, and one Baltimore knew well. It didn't have to be that way, though. On 'Dudes on Dudes' with Julian Edelman, the future Hall of Famer haunted Ravens fans with an admission that he was nearly Baltimore-bound. "The Baltimore Ravens were going to pick me, I think it was the 25th pick that they had in the draft," Gronkowski said. "But then Denver and [Head Coach] Josh McDaniels came scooping in and traded with the Baltimore Ravens. The Denver Broncos took Tim Tebow. I just got booted out of the first round. "The Ravens had the 43rd pick now. Well, then the New England Patriots got a sniff of it, and they traded up one spot before the Baltimore Ravens at No. 42, where I got drafted." The Baltimore faithful have Tebow to thank for taking down their biggest rival in the playoffs as he took over the football world for one fateful season. The cost of that selection may have reaped harsher consequences. Advertisement Gronkowski won four Super Bowls, earned four first-team All-Pro selections, and is viewed by some as the best tight end of all time. Between Dennis Pitta and Mark Andrews, Baltimore didn't exactly have a drought at the position, but the idea of Gronkowski adding to Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson's offenses is tantalizing. The Ravens will hope Andrews and Isaiah Likely combine to have a similar impact to the legend they barely missed out on. Rob Gronkowski goes off on Giants rookie Abdul Carter's ‘crazy' Lawrence Taylor number request
Rob Gronkowski is floored at Abdul Carter's daring request. The former Penn State pass rusher, whom the Giants took No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, was in pursuit of Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor's No. 56 jersey to wear for his rookie season. The bold ask rubbed Gronkowski the wrong way. AP 'Was he serious asking for LT's number?' the four-time Super Bowl champ said on a recent episode of the 'Dudes on Dudes' podcast he hosts with former Patriots teammate Julian Edelman. 'Yeah you were a high draft pick but LT is an absolute legend. The best to do it. One of the best defenders of all time. Like you gotta prove yourself. That's crazy just asking for LT's number. And I'm glad that LT shut him down like that.' Gronkowski is referring to Taylor telling The Post's Steve Serby that Carter should use a different number. Advertisement 'I know he would love to wear that number, but hey, I think it's retired,' Taylor said. 'Get another number, I don't care if it's double zero, and then make it famous.' 'That was such an LT response. Go make your own freaking number kid,' Edelman continued on the podcast. 'Can we read the room? And it's not even the room, it's the football galaxy. The fact that he even asked, that's crazy to me. Maybe he'll go make another one. And people say oh the [No.] 11, the 11 thing. But they give everyone 11 at Penn State but no one ever puts on the 56.' 5 Rob Gronkowski shares his thoughts over Abdul Carter wanting Lawrence Taylor's Giants jersey. My stance don't change, LT is the [goat emoji] nothing but respect…,' Carter tweeted a day following Taylor's decision. 'This just gonna make me work even harder!! I love it.' Carter wore No. 11 at Penn State, the same number worn by former Nittany Lions linebackers LaVar Arrington and Micah Parsons. 5 New York Giants great Lawrence Taylor reacts after he rings the bell before the start of the first quarter of the Giants and Washington Commanders game in East Rutherford, N.J. 'I told some of my friends and people around me, 'I'd let him have it in a second. Can you just help it a little or make it better?'' Simms quipped on FanDuel TV. 'I think it would be a lot of fun. It wouldn't bother me.' Carter jumped at the opportunity, posting on X 'It would be an HONOR,' while tagging Simms with the horns hand emoji. 5 Former New York Giants quarterbacks Phil Simms, Jeff Hostetler, and Eli Manning are honored on the field during the second quarter of a game against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on September 10, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. NFL rookie denied by another legend after being slammed by Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman for 'crazy' request
The hits just keep on coming for New York Giants rookie Abdul Carter as he continues his search for a number to wear in his first NFL season. Carter, the Giants third overall pick, was denied the opportunity to wear No. 56 last week when the NFL legend who wore it before him turned down his request. Now, he won't be able to wear the same number he had in college after the family of another Giants legend said no. The number 11 at Penn State is a heralded number that has been worn only five times since 1997. Notable wearers of that jersey in that period include LaVar Arrington, NaVorro Bowman, Micah Parsons, and Carter. So after being denied No. 56, Carter considered wearing the No. 11 in the NFL as well. But he hit a roadblock there too. No. 11 has also been retired in honor of former quarterback Phil Simms. While Simms said that he'd be fine with Carter wearing the number, Simms' family reportedly out-voted him. It comes after Hall-of-Famer Lawrence Taylor denied the request to wear his retired No. 56. That request was mocked on the 'Dudes on Dudes' podcast, hosted by former New England Patriots stars Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. The two Super Bowl winners were shocked that Carter would even consider asking for the number of the Giants legend. 'Was he serious asking for LT's number?,' Gronkowski remarked. 'Yeah, you were a high draft pick, but LT is an absolute legend. 'The best to do it. One of the best defenders of all time. Like, you gotta prove yourself. 'That's crazy. Just asking for LT's number. Carter joked about his predicament with a post to X: 'Damn at this point imma be out there with just my last name on my jersey, no number.'

Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman slam Giants rookie Abdul Carter for asking to wear legend's retired number
From time to time, high-value NFL Draft picks will ask permission from former team legends to wear their numbers if they're retired. But that didn't work out for one recent first-round draft pick. Last week, the New York Giants selected Penn State prospect Abdul Carter third overall to help bolster their pass rushing game. Carter, a superstar with the Nittany Lions, wanted to wear No. 56 with the Giants. That number has been retired in honor of Hall-of-Famer Lawrence Taylor. So, the incoming rookie asked Taylor for permission to wear his number. Taylor rejected that request.
